That's very childish behavior for someone who sees himself as a world leader dealing with CEOs and others who play a role in the economy.<br /><br />Here's where we see if there are sufficient handles to keep Trump from doing stupid things like the 100% tariff that he claimed would eliminate taxes. Cook isn't the only CEO worried about that. Trumpp says the oversees manufacturers will pay the tariff and it's all good. But it's just not that simple. We the consumer in order to buy a more perfect product would/will be saddled with an increase equal to at least the amount of tariff. We'll balk at price hikes when making larger purchases. I don't Apple or any other seller reducing the profit margin to give us a break.<br /><br />Cook knows the effect a tariff could have on sales and has to work with the cards he's dealt. If he doesn't extend his professionalism to the orange menace he risks being target and is more vulnerable this time than last. The layoffs are a backdoor plan to boost the first two points. Tech firms will rehire in smaller numbers at lower pay and use that to justify even more stock buybacks and even higher exec compensation.
