This study contributes to the literature on women’s participation in employment, especially among married women, to see whether the traditional values about gender roles in the household still continue to shape the employment participation among married women in Indonesia, despite increasing women’s human capital through education. This study utilizes the Indonesian National Socioeconomic Survey (SUSENAS) 2016 and estimates the results using the multinomial logit model. Our results show that compared to high-educated educational homogamy couples, educational heterogamy couples, especially hypergamy, have a higher probability of being a single-worker type. Moreover, the high-educated educational homogamy couples have the highest probability of being a dual-worker type. Thus, we found evidence that the traditional values of gender role segregation seem to still play a significant role in married women’s employment decision in Indonesia, particularly for couples’ with educational heterogamy and low-educated educational homogamy couples. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=assortative%20education" title="assortative education">assortative education</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dual-worker" title=" dual-worker"> dual-worker</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hypergamy" title=" hypergamy"> hypergamy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=homogamy" title=" homogamy"> homogamy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=traditional%20values" title=" traditional values"> traditional values</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=women%20labor%20participation" title=" women labor participation"> women labor participation</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/105582/assortative-education-and-working-arrangement-among-married-couples-in-indonesia" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/105582.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">118</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">6</span> Phylogenetic Study of L1 Protein Human Papillomavirus Type 16 From Cervical Cancer Patients in Bandung</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Fitri%20Rahmi%20Fadhilah">Fitri Rahmi Fadhilah</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Edhyana%20Sahiratmadja"> Edhyana Sahiratmadja</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ani%20Melani%20Maskoen"> Ani Melani Maskoen</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ratu%20Safitri"> Ratu Safitri</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Supartini%20Syarif"> Supartini Syarif</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Herman%20Susanto"> Herman Susanto</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer in women after breast cancer. In Indonesia, the incidence of cervical cancer cases is estimated at 25-40 per 100,000 women per year. Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection is a major cause of cervical cancer, and HPV-16 is the most common genotype that infects the cervical tissue. The major late protein L1 may be associated with infectivity and pathogenicity and its variation can be used to classify HPV isolates. The aim of this study was to determine the phylogenetic tree of HPV 16 L1 gene from cervical cancer patient isolates in Bandung. After confirming HPV-16 by Linear Array Genotyping Test, L1 gene was amplified using specific primers and subject for sequencing. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that HPV 16 from Bandung was in the subgroup of Asia and East Asia, showing the close host-agent relationship among the Asian type. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=L1%20HPV%2016" title="L1 HPV 16">L1 HPV 16</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cervical%20cancer" title=" cervical cancer"> cervical cancer</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=bandung" title=" bandung"> bandung</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=phylogenetic" title=" phylogenetic"> phylogenetic</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/6541/phylogenetic-study-of-l1-protein-human-papillomavirus-type-16-from-cervical-cancer-patients-in-bandung" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/6541.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">502</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">5</span> Analyzing the Characteristics and Shifting Patterns of Creative Hubs in Bandung</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Fajar%20Ajie%20Setiawan">Fajar Ajie Setiawan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ratu%20Azima%20Mayangsari"> Ratu Azima Mayangsari</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bunga%20Aprilia"> Bunga Aprilia</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The emergence of creative hubs around the world, including in Bandung, was primarily driven by the needs of collaborative-innovative spaces for creative industry activities such as the Maker Movement and the Coworking Movement. These activities pose challenges for identification and formulation of sets of indicators for modeling creative hubs in Bandung to help stakeholders in formulating strategies. This study intends to identify their characteristics. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach comparing three concepts of creative hub categorization and integrating them into a single instrument to analyze 12 selected creative hubs. Our results showed three new functions of creative hubs in Bandung: (1) cultural, (2) retail business, and (3) community network. Results also suggest that creative hubs in Bandung are commonly established for networking and community activities. Another result shows that there was a shifting pattern of creative hubs before the 2000s and after the 2000s, which also creates a hybrid group of creative hubs. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=creative%20industry" title="creative industry">creative industry</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=creative%20hubs" title=" creative hubs"> creative hubs</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ngariung" title=" Ngariung"> Ngariung</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bandung" title=" Bandung"> Bandung</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/90652/analyzing-the-characteristics-and-shifting-patterns-of-creative-hubs-in-bandung" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/90652.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">177</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4</span> Increasing the Mastery of Kanji with Language Learning Strategies through Multimedia</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sherly%20Ferro%20Lensun">Sherly Ferro Lensun</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Donal%20Matheos%20Ratu"> Donal Matheos Ratu</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Elni%20Jeini%20Usoh"> Elni Jeini Usoh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Helena%20M.%20L.%20Pandi"> Helena M. Weaving is a leisure activity carried out between farming and caring for families. It is quite understandable if the weavers are women. At this time, weaving crafts become a unique potential inherent in an area, so that the weaver women also have the potential to drive economic activity in regional tourism sector. This study aims to measure the sustainability of traditional weaving business activities in Anajiaka Village, Umbu Ratu Nggay Barat, Central Sumba Regency, which is able to support the creative economy. The analysis was performed using qualitative descriptive methods by comparing the criteria of smart living and smart economy in the study of smart city. This study found that business sustainability will be better maintained if it is bound in a joint commitment, for example by forming a group of craftsmen. Other challenges besides the commitment of the group members are aspects of local government support and related agencies, in the form of guidance, funding, and promotion. In addition, fabric order targets, maintaining family and community balance, are recognized as obstacles for craftsmen. The modern marketing model is not yet mastered by the craftsmen group, so it needs assistance for future development. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=agriculture" title="agriculture">agriculture</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=craftsmen" title=" craftsmen"> craftsmen</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=creativepreneur" title=" creativepreneur"> creativepreneur</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=smart%20economy" title=" smart economy"> smart economy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=smart%20living" title=" smart living"> smart living</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/124979/empowerment-model-a-strategy-for-supporting-creative-economy-through-traditional-weaving-in-anajiaka-village" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/124979.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">167</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2</span> Hidrothermal Alteration Study of Tangkuban Perahu Craters, and Its Implication to Geothermal Conceptual Model</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Afy%20Syahidan%20Achmad">Afy Syahidan Achmad</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Tangkuban Perahu is located in West Java, Indonesia. It is active stratovolcano type and still showing hidrothermal activity. The main purpose of this study is to find correlation between subsurface structure and hidrothermal activity on the surface. Using topographic map, SRTM images, and field observation, geological condition and alteration area was mapped. Alteration sample analyzed trough petrographic analysis and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) analysis. Altered rock in study area showing white-yellowish white colour, and texture changing variation from softening to hardening because of alteration by sillica and sulphur. Alteration mineral which can be observed in petrographic analysis and XRD analysis consist of crystobalite, anatase, alunite, and pyrite. This mineral assemblage showing advanced argillic alteration type with West-East alteration area orientation. Alteration area have correlation with manifestation occurance such as steam vents, solfatara, and warm to hot pools. Most of manifestation occured in main crater like Ratu Crater and Upas crater, and parasitic crater like Domas Crater and Jarian Crater. This manifestation indicates permeability in subsurface which can be created trough structural process with same orientation. For further study geophysics method such as Magneto Telluric (MT) and resistivity can be required to find permeability zone pattern in Tangkuban Perahu subsurface. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=alteration" title="alteration">alteration</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=advanced%20argillic" title=" advanced argillic"> advanced argillic</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tangkuban%20Perahu" title=" Tangkuban Perahu"> Tangkuban Perahu</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=XRD" title=" XRD"> XRD</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=crystobalite" title=" crystobalite"> crystobalite</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=anatase" title=" anatase"> anatase</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=alunite" title=" alunite"> alunite</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=pyrite" title=" pyrite"> pyrite</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/17133/hidrothermal-alteration-study-of-tangkuban-perahu-craters-and-its-implication-to-geothermal-conceptual-model" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/17133.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">419</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1</span> Delivering Comprehensive Sexuality Education to Students with Disability in Special Schools in Fiji </h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sera%20Ratu">Sera Ratu</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jane%20Chivers"> Jane Chivers</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jessica%20Botfield"> Jessica Botfield </a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Objectives: The Reproductive and Family Health Association of Fiji (RFHAF) and Family Planning Australia are working together to introduce quality comprehensive sexuality education into Special Schools - which are schools for students with disability. Sexual and reproductive health information is needed by students with disability attending Special Schools. Children with special needs go through the same changes as able-bodied children. The Fiji Disability Inclusion project is a three-year project that started in 2015. One of its objectives is to increase exposure to comprehensive sexuality education for primary and secondary school students with disability. Method: A baseline survey was undertaken with 72 students with disability; it included questions about puberty, sexual health, and relationships. 34 teachers also completed a survey about their views of sexuality education and confidence in delivering it. Consent was facilitated by running information sessions with teachers and parents. The process of gaining consent and completing the surveys was designed to be accessible to students with disability. Given the sensitive nature of reproductive and sexual health, and the potential vulnerability of young people with disability, ethical considerations were important in the design and implementation of the surveys, and ethics approval was obtained. Results: Findings from the surveys suggest that students have mixed knowledge and awareness of sexual health issues. Most teachers reported a need for their students to learn about sexuality and relationships. A positive outcome of conducting the surveys was that RFHAF staff reported they have developed skills and confidence in communicating with young people with a range of disabilities. They have a greater understanding of what students want to learn, and what teachers feel is important. Conclusions: These survey findings will assist RFHAF in developing comprehensive sexuality education programs that are relevant and accessible to students in Special Schools, and to develop an appropriate professional development program for teachers. Findings may also be applicable to other Special Schools when developing sexuality education programs. The education programs developed for students as part of this project, and the professional development programs for teachers, may be relevant to other countries. <p
