you shall make<MH6213a> it of acacia<MH7848> wood<MH6086>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/30-2.htm"><b>2</b></a></span>Its length<MH753> <i>shall be</i> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[a]</a></span>a cubit<MH520>, and its width<MH7341> a cubit<MH520>; he shall burn<MH6999> it every morning<MH1242> when he trims<MH3190> the lamps<MH5216>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/30-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>And when Aaron<MH175> sets<MH5927> up<MH5927> the lamps<MH5216> at <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[i]</a></span>twilight<MH6153>, he shall burn<MH6999> incense<MH6999>. <i>There shall be</i> perpetual<MH8548> incense<MH7004> before<MH6440> the LORD<MH3068> throughout your generations<MH1755>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/30-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>You shall not offer<MH5927> any <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[j]</a></span>strange<MH2114a> incense<MH7004> on <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[k]</a></span>this altar, or burnt<MH5930a> offering<MH5930a>, or meal<MH4503> offering<MH4503>; and you shall not pour<MH5258a> out<MH5258a> a drink<MH5262a> offering<MH5262a> on it. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/30-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>However, Aaron<MH175> shall make<MH3722a> atonement<MH3722a> on its horns<MH7161> once<MH259> a year<MH8141>; he shall make<MH3722a> atonement<MH3722a> on it with the blood<MH1818> of the sin<MH2403b> offering<MH2403b> of atonement<MH3725> once<MH259> a year<MH8141> throughout your generations<MH1755>. It is most<MH6944> holy<MH6944> to the LORD<MH3068>.” <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/30-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>The LORD<MH3068> also spoke<MH1696> to Moses<MH4872>, saying<MH559>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/30-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>“When<MH3588> you take<MH5375> a <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[l]</a></span>census<MH7218> of the sons<MH1121> of Israel<MH3478> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[m]</a></span>to count<MH6485> them, then each<MH376> one<MH376> <i>of them</i> shall give<MH5414> a ransom<MH3724a> for <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[n]</a></span>himself<MH5315> to the LORD<MH3068>, when you <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[o]</a></span>count<MH6485> them, so that there will be no<MH3808> plague<MH5063> among them when you <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[p]</a></span>count<MH6485> them. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/30-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>This<MH2088> <i>is what</i> everyone<MH3605> who <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[q]</a></span>is counted<MH6485> shall give<MH5414>: half<MH4276> a <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[r]</a></span>shekel<MH8255> according to the shekel<MH8255> of the sanctuary<MH6944> (the shekel<MH8255> is twenty<MH6242> gerahs<MH1626>), half<MH4276> a shekel<MH8255> as a <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[s]</a></span>contribution<MH8641> to the LORD<MH3068>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/30-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>Everyone<MH3605> who <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[t]</a></span>is counted<MH6485>, from twenty<MH6242> years<MH8141> old<MH1121> and over<MH4605>, shall give<MH5414> the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[u]</a></span>contribution<MH8641> to the LORD<MH3068>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/30-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>The rich<MH6223> shall not pay<MH7235a> more<MH7235a>, and the poor<MH1800b> shall not pay<MH4591> less<MH4591>, than<MH4480> the half<MH4276> shekel<MH8255>, when you give<MH5414> the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[v]</a></span>contribution<MH8641> to the LORD<MH3068> to make<MH3722a> atonement<MH3722a> for <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[w]</a></span>yourselves<MH5315>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/30-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>And you shall take<MH3947> the atonement<MH3725> money<MH3701> from the sons<MH1121> of Israel<MH3478> and give<MH5414> it for the service<MH5656> of the tent<MH168> of meeting<MH4150>, so that it may be a memorial<MH2146> for the sons<MH1121> of Israel<MH3478> before<MH6440> the LORD<MH3068>, to make<MH3722a> atonement<MH3722a> for <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[x]</a></span>yourselves<MH5315>.” <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/30-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>Then the LORD<MH3068> spoke<MH1696> to Moses<MH4872>, saying<MH559>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/30-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>“You shall also make<MH6213a> a basin<MH3595> of <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[y]</a></span>bronze<MH5178>, with its base<MH3653b> of bronze<MH5178>, for washing<MH7364>; and you shall put<MH5414> it between<MH996> the tent<MH168> of meeting<MH4150> and the altar<MH4196>, and you shall put<MH5414> water<MH4325> in it. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/30-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>Aaron<MH175> and his sons<MH1121> shall wash<MH7364> their hands<MH3027> and their feet<MH7272> from it; <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/30-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>when they enter<MH935> the tent<MH168> of meeting<MH4150>, they shall wash<MH7364> with water<MH4325>, so that they do not die<MH4191>; or<MH176> when they approach<MH5066> the altar<MH4196> to minister<MH8334>, by offering<MH6999> up<MH6999> in<MH6999> smoke<MH6999> a fire<MH801> <i>sacrifice</i> to the LORD<MH3068>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/30-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span>So they shall wash<MH7364> their hands<MH3027> and their feet<MH7272>, so that they do not die<MH4191>; and it shall be a permanent<MH5769> statute<MH2706> for them, for <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[z]</a></span>Aaron and his <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[aa]</a></span>descendants<MH2233> throughout their generations<MH1755>.” <p class="hdg">The Anointing Oil</p><p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/30-22.htm"><b>22</b></a></span>Moreover, the LORD<MH3068> spoke<MH1696> to Moses<MH4872>, saying<MH559>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/30-23.htm"><b>23</b></a></span>“Take<MH3947> also for yourself the finest<MH7218> of spices<MH1314>: of liquid<MH1865> myrrh<MH4753> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[ab]</a></span>five<MH2568> hundred<MH3967> <i>shekels,</i> and of fragrant<MH1314> cinnamon<MH7076> half<MH4276> as<MH4276> much<MH4276>, 250<MH3967, 2572>, and of fragrant<MH1314> cane<MH7070> 250<MH3967, 2572>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/30-24.htm"><b>24</b></a></span>and of cassia<MH6916> 500<MH2568, 3967>, according to the shekel<MH8255> of the sanctuary<MH6944>, and of olive<MH2132> oil<MH8081> a <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[ac]</a></span>hin<MH1969>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/30-25.htm"><b>25</b></a></span>You shall make<MH6213a> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[ad]</a></span>from these a holy<MH6944> anointing<MH4888b> oil<MH8081>, a fragrant<MH7545> mixture<MH4842> of<MH4842> ointments<MH4842>, the work<MH4639> of a perfumer<MH7543>; it shall be a holy<MH6944> anointing<MH4888b> oil<MH8081>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/30-26.htm"><b>26</b></a></span>And you shall anoint<MH4886> the tent<MH168> of meeting<MH4150> with it, and the ark<MH727> of the testimony<MH5715>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/30-27.htm"><b>27</b></a></span>and the table<MH7979> and all<MH3605> its utensils<MH3627>, and the lampstand<MH4501> and its utensils<MH3627>, and the altar<MH4196> of incense<MH7004>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/30-28.htm"><b>28</b></a></span>and the altar<MH4196> of burnt<MH5930a> offering<MH5930a> and all<MH3605> its utensils<MH3627>, and the basin<MH3595> and its stand<MH3653b>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/30-29.htm"><b>29</b></a></span>You shall also consecrate<MH6942> them, so that they may be most<MH6944> holy<MH6944>; whatever<MH3605> touches<MH5060> them shall be<MH6942> holy<MH6942>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/30-30.htm"><b>30</b></a></span>And you shall anoint<MH4886> Aaron<MH175> and his sons<MH1121>, and consecrate<MH6942> them, so that they may serve<MH3547> as<MH3547> priests<MH3547> to Me. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/30-31.htm"><b>31</b></a></span>Furthermore, you shall speak<MH1696> to the sons<MH1121> of Israel<MH3478>, saying<MH559>, ‘This<MH2088> shall be a holy<MH6944> anointing<MH4888b> oil<MH8081> to Me throughout your generations<MH1755>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/30-32.htm"><b>32</b></a></span>It shall not be poured<MH5480a> on <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[ae]</a></span>anyone’s<MH120> body<MH1320>, nor<MH3808> shall you make<MH6213a> <i>any</i> like<MH3644> it in <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[af]</a></span>the same proportions<MH4971>; it is holy<MH6944>, <i>and</i> it shall be holy<MH6944> to you. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/30-33.htm"><b>33</b></a></span>Whoever<MH376, 834> mixes<MH7543> <i>any</i> like<MH3644> it or whoever<MH834> puts<MH5414> any<MH4480> of it on a <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[ag]</a></span>layman<MH2114a> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[ah]</a></span>shall be cut<MH3772> off<MH3772> from his people<MH5971b>.’” <p class="hdg">The Incense</p><p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/30-34.htm"><b>34</b></a></span>Then the LORD<MH3068> said<MH559> to Moses<MH4872>, “Take<MH3947> for yourself spices<MH5561>—stacte<MH5198b>, onycha<MH7827>, and galbanum<MH2464>, spices<MH5561> and pure<MH2134> frankincense<MH3828>; there shall be an equal part<MH905> of each<MH905>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/30-35.htm"><b>35</b></a></span>You shall make<MH6213a> incense<MH7004> from it <i>all,</i> a skillful<MH7545> mixture<MH7545>, the work<MH4639> of a perfumer<MH7543>, salted<MH4414b>, pure<MH2889>, <i>and</i> holy<MH6944>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/exodus/30-36.htm"><b>36</b></a></span>And you shall crush<MH7833> some<MH4480> of it very<MH1854> fine<MH1854>, and put<MH5414> part of it in front<MH6440> of the testimony<MH5715> in the tent<MH168> of meeting<MH4150> where<MH834, 8033> I will meet<MH3259> with you;
