you shall make<MH6213a> it of acacia<MH7848> wood<MH6086>. <a href="/exodus/30-2.htm">2</a>Its length<MH753> shall be <a href="#fn">[a]</a>a cubit<MH520>, and its width<MH7341> a cubit<MH520>; it shall be square<MH7251>, and its height<MH6967> shall be two cubits<MH520>; its horns<MH7161> shall be <a href="#fn">[b]</a>of one piece with it. <a href="/exodus/30-3.htm">3</a>You shall overlay<MH6823> it with pure<MH2889> gold<MH2091>, its top<MH1406> and its <a href="#fn">[c]</a>sides<MH7023> all<MH5439> around<MH5439>, and its horns<MH7161>; and you shall make<MH6213a> a gold<MH2091> molding<MH2213> all<MH5439> around<MH5439> for it. <a href="/exodus/30-4.htm">4</a>You shall also make<MH6213a> two<MH8147> gold<MH2091> rings<MH2885> for it under<MH8478> its molding<MH2213>; you shall make<MH6213a> them on its two<MH8147> sides<MH6763>—on <a href="#fn">[d]</a>opposite<MH8147> sides<MH6654>—and <a href="#fn">[e]</a>they shall be holders<MH1004> for poles<MH905> with which<MH1992a> to carry<MH5375> it. <a href="/exodus/30-5.htm">5</a>And you shall make<MH6213a> the poles<MH905> of acacia<MH7848> wood<MH6086> and overlay<MH6823> them with gold<MH2091>. <a href="/exodus/30-6.htm">6</a>You shall put<MH5414> <a href="#fn">[f]</a>this altar in front<MH6440> of the veil<MH6532> that is <a href="#fn">[g]</a>near<MH5921> the ark<MH727> of the testimony<MH5715>, in front<MH6440> of the <a href="#fn">[h]</a>atoning<MH3727> cover<MH3727> that is over<MH5921> the ark of the testimony<MH5715>, where<MH834, 8033> I will meet<MH3259> with you. <a href="/exodus/30-7.htm">7</a>Aaron<MH175> shall burn<MH6999> fragrant<MH5561> incense<MH7004> on it; he shall burn<MH6999> it every morning<MH1242> when he trims<MH3190> the lamps<MH5216>. <a href="/exodus/30-8.htm">8</a>And when Aaron<MH175> sets<MH5927> up<MH5927> the lamps<MH5216> at <a href="#fn">[i]</a>twilight<MH6153>, he shall burn<MH6999> incense<MH6999>. There shall be perpetual<MH8548> incense<MH7004> before<MH6440> the LORD<MH3068> throughout your generations<MH1755>. <a href="/exodus/30-9.htm">9</a>You shall not offer<MH5927> any <a href="#fn">[j]</a>strange<MH2114a> incense<MH7004> on <a href="#fn">[k]</a>this altar, or burnt<MH5930a> offering<MH5930a>, or meal<MH4503> offering<MH4503>; and you shall not pour<MH5258a> out<MH5258a> a drink<MH5262a> offering<MH5262a> on it. <a href="/exodus/30-10.htm">10</a>However, Aaron<MH175> shall make<MH3722a> atonement<MH3722a> on its horns<MH7161> once<MH259> a year<MH8141>; he shall make<MH3722a> atonement<MH3722a> on it with the blood<MH1818> of the sin<MH2403b> offering<MH2403b> of atonement<MH3725> once<MH259> a year<MH8141> throughout your generations<MH1755>. It is most<MH6944> holy<MH6944> to the LORD<MH3068>.” <a href="/exodus/30-11.htm">11</a>The LORD<MH3068> also spoke<MH1696> to Moses<MH4872>, saying<MH559>, <a href="/exodus/30-12.htm">12</a>“When<MH3588> you take<MH5375> a <a href="#fn">[l]</a>census<MH7218> of the sons<MH1121> of Israel<MH3478> <a href="#fn">[m]</a>to count<MH6485> them, then each<MH376> one<MH376> of them shall give<MH5414> a ransom<MH3724a> for <a href="#fn">[n]</a>himself<MH5315> to the LORD<MH3068>, when you <a href="#fn">[o]</a>count<MH6485> them, so that there will be no<MH3808> plague<MH5063> among them when you <a href="#fn">[p]</a>count<MH6485> them. <a href="/exodus/30-13.htm">13</a>This<MH2088> is what everyone<MH3605> who <a href="#fn">[q]</a>is counted<MH6485> shall give<MH5414>: half<MH4276> a <a href="#fn">[r]</a>shekel<MH8255> according to the shekel<MH8255> of the sanctuary<MH6944> (the shekel<MH8255> is twenty<MH6242> gerahs<MH1626>), half<MH4276> a shekel<MH8255> as a <a href="#fn">[s]</a>contribution<MH8641> to the LORD<MH3068>. <a href="/exodus/30-14.htm">14</a>Everyone<MH3605> who <a href="#fn">[t]</a>is counted<MH6485>, from twenty<MH6242> years<MH8141> old<MH1121> and over<MH4605>, shall give<MH5414> the <a href="#fn">[u]</a>contribution<MH8641> to the LORD<MH3068>. <a href="/exodus/30-15.htm">15</a>The rich<MH6223> shall not pay<MH7235a> more<MH7235a>, and the poor<MH1800b> shall not pay<MH4591> less<MH4591>, than<MH4480> the half<MH4276> shekel<MH8255>, when you give<MH5414> the <a href="#fn">[v]</a>contribution<MH8641> to the LORD<MH3068> to make<MH3722a> atonement<MH3722a> for <a href="#fn">[w]</a>yourselves<MH5315>. <a href="/exodus/30-16.htm">16</a>And you shall take<MH3947> the atonement<MH3725> money<MH3701> from the sons<MH1121> of Israel<MH3478> and give<MH5414> it for the service<MH5656> of the tent<MH168> of meeting<MH4150>, so that it may be a memorial<MH2146> for the sons<MH1121> of Israel<MH3478> before<MH6440> the LORD<MH3068>, to make<MH3722a> atonement<MH3722a> for <a href="#fn">[x]</a>yourselves<MH5315>.” <a href="/exodus/30-17.htm">17</a>Then the LORD<MH3068> spoke<MH1696> to Moses<MH4872>, saying<MH559>, <a href="/exodus/30-18.htm">18</a>“You shall also make<MH6213a> a basin<MH3595> of <a href="#fn">[y]</a>bronze<MH5178>, with its base<MH3653b> of bronze<MH5178>, for washing<MH7364>; and you shall put<MH5414> it between<MH996> the tent<MH168> of meeting<MH4150> and the altar<MH4196>, and you shall put<MH5414> water<MH4325> in it. <a href="/exodus/30-19.htm">19</a>Aaron<MH175> and his sons<MH1121> shall wash<MH7364> their hands<MH3027> and their feet<MH7272> from it; <a href="/exodus/30-20.htm">20</a>when they enter<MH935> the tent<MH168> of meeting<MH4150>, they shall wash<MH7364> with water<MH4325>, so that they do not die<MH4191>; or<MH176> when they approach<MH5066> the altar<MH4196> to minister<MH8334>, by offering<MH6999> up<MH6999> in<MH6999> smoke<MH6999> a fire<MH801> sacrifice to the LORD<MH3068>. <a href="/exodus/30-21.htm">21</a>So they shall wash<MH7364> their hands<MH3027> and their feet<MH7272>, so that they do not die<MH4191>; and it shall be a permanent<MH5769> statute<MH2706> for them, for <a href="#fn">[z]</a>Aaron and his <a href="#fn">[aa]</a>descendants<MH2233> throughout their generations<MH1755>.” The Anointing Oil<a href="/exodus/30-22.htm">22</a>Moreover, the LORD<MH3068> spoke<MH1696> to Moses<MH4872>, saying<MH559>, <a href="/exodus/30-23.htm">23</a>“Take<MH3947> also for yourself the finest<MH7218> of spices<MH1314>: of liquid<MH1865> myrrh<MH4753> <a href="#fn">[ab]</a>five<MH2568> hundred<MH3967> shekels, and of fragrant<MH1314> cinnamon<MH7076> half<MH4276> as<MH4276> much<MH4276>, 250<MH3967, 2572>, and of fragrant<MH1314> cane<MH7070> 250<MH3967, 2572>, <a href="/exodus/30-24.htm">24</a>and of cassia<MH6916> 500<MH2568, 3967>, according to the shekel<MH8255> of the sanctuary<MH6944>, and of olive<MH2132> oil<MH8081> a <a href="#fn">[ac]</a>hin<MH1969>. <a href="/exodus/30-25.htm">25</a>You shall make<MH6213a> <a href="#fn">[ad]</a>from these a holy<MH6944> anointing<MH4888b> oil<MH8081>, a fragrant<MH7545> mixture<MH4842> of<MH4842> ointments<MH4842>, the work<MH4639> of a perfumer<MH7543>; it shall be a holy<MH6944> anointing<MH4888b> oil<MH8081>. <a href="/exodus/30-26.htm">26</a>And you shall anoint<MH4886> the tent<MH168> of meeting<MH4150> with it, and the ark<MH727> of the testimony<MH5715>, <a href="/exodus/30-27.htm">27</a>and the table<MH7979> and all<MH3605> its utensils<MH3627>, and the lampstand<MH4501> and its utensils<MH3627>, and the altar<MH4196> of incense<MH7004>, <a href="/exodus/30-28.htm">28</a>and the altar<MH4196> of burnt<MH5930a> offering<MH5930a> and all<MH3605> its utensils<MH3627>, and the basin<MH3595> and its stand<MH3653b>. <a href="/exodus/30-29.htm">29</a>You shall also consecrate<MH6942> them, so that they may be most<MH6944> holy<MH6944>; whatever<MH3605> touches<MH5060> them shall be<MH6942> holy<MH6942>. <a href="/exodus/30-30.htm">30</a>And you shall anoint<MH4886> Aaron<MH175> and his sons<MH1121>, and consecrate<MH6942> them, so that they may serve<MH3547> as<MH3547> priests<MH3547> to Me. <a href="/exodus/30-31.htm">31</a>Furthermore, you shall speak<MH1696> to the sons<MH1121> of Israel<MH3478>, saying<MH559>, ‘This<MH2088> shall be a holy<MH6944> anointing<MH4888b> oil<MH8081> to Me throughout your generations<MH1755>. <a href="/exodus/30-32.htm">32</a>It shall not be poured<MH5480a> on <a href="#fn">[ae]</a>anyone’s<MH120> body<MH1320>, nor<MH3808> shall you make<MH6213a> any like<MH3644> it in <a href="#fn">[af]</a>the same proportions<MH4971>; it is holy<MH6944>, and it shall be holy<MH6944> to you. <a href="/exodus/30-33.htm">33</a>Whoever<MH376, 834> mixes<MH7543> any like<MH3644> it or whoever<MH834> puts<MH5414> any<MH4480> of it on a <a href="#fn">[ag]</a>layman<MH2114a> <a href="#fn">[ah]</a>shall be cut<MH3772> off<MH3772> from his people<MH5971b>.’” The Incense<a href="/exodus/30-34.htm">34</a>Then the LORD<MH3068> said<MH559> to Moses<MH4872>, “Take<MH3947> for yourself spices<MH5561>—stacte<MH5198b>, onycha<MH7827>, and galbanum<MH2464>, spices<MH5561> and pure<MH2134> frankincense<MH3828>; there shall be an equal part<MH905> of each<MH905>. <a href="/exodus/30-35.htm">35</a>You shall make<MH6213a> incense<MH7004> from it all, a skillful<MH7545> mixture<MH7545>, the work<MH4639> of a perfumer<MH7543>, salted<MH4414b>, pure<MH2889>, and holy<MH6944>. <a href="/exodus/30-36.htm">36</a>And you shall crush<MH7833> some<MH4480> of it very<MH1854> fine<MH1854>, and put<MH5414> part of it in front<MH6440> of the testimony<MH5715> in the tent<MH168> of meeting<MH4150> where<MH834, 8033> I will meet<MH3259> with you;
