<t><p class="indent1">Egypt<MH4714> will gather<MH6908> them together<MH6908>, Memphis<MH4644> will bury<MH6912> them. <t><p class="indent1">Weeds<MH7057> will take<MH3423> possession<MH3423> of their treasures<MH4261> of silver<MH3701>; <t><p class="indent1"><span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[i]</a></span>Let Israel<MH3478> know<MH3045> <i>this!</i> <t><p class="indent1">The prophet<MH5030> is a fool<MH191>, <t><p class="indent1">The <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[j]</a></span>inspired<MH7307> person<MH376> is insane<MH7696>, <t><p class="indent1">Because<MH5921> of the grossness<MH7230> of your wrongdoing<MH5771>, <t><p class="indent1">And <i>because your</i> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[k]</a></span>hostility<MH4895> is <i>so</i> great<MH7227a>. <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/hosea/9-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>Ephraim<MH669> <i>was</i> a watchman<MH6822> with my God<MH430>, a prophet<MH5030>; <t><p class="indent1">I saw<MH7200> your forefathers<MH1> as the earliest<MH1063> fruit<MH1063> on the fig<MH8384> tree<MH8384> in its first<MH7225> <i>season.</i> <t><p class="indent1"><i>But</i> they came<MH935> to Baal-peor<MH1187> and devoted<MH5144a> themselves to <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[m]</a></span>shame<MH1322>, <t><p class="indent1">And they became<MH1961> as detestable<MH8251> as that which<MH159> they loved<MH157>. <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/hosea/9-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>As for Ephraim<MH669>, their glory<MH3519b> will fly<MH5774a> away<MH5774a> like a bird<MH5775>— <t><p class="indent1">No<MH4480> birth<MH3205>, no<MH4480> pregnancy<MH990>, and no<MH4480> conception<MH2032>! <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/hosea/9-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>Though<MH3588, 518> they bring<MH1431> up<MH1431> their children<MH1121>, <t><p class="indent1">Yet I will bereave<MH7921> them of<MH7921> their children<MH7921> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[n]</a></span>until not a person<MH120> is left. <t><p class="indent1">Yes<MH3588>, woe<MH188> to them indeed<MH1571> when I depart<MH5493> from them! <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/hosea/9-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>Ephraim<MH669>, as I have seen<MH7200>, <t><p class="indent1">Is planted<MH8362> in a pasture<MH5116a> like Tyre<MH6865>; <t><p class="indent1">But Ephraim<MH669> is going to bring<MH3318> out<MH3318> his children<MH1121> for slaughter<MH2026>. <poetry><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/hosea/9-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>Give<MH5414> to them, LORD<MH3068>—what<MH4100> will You give<MH5414>? <t><p class="indent1">Give<MH5414> them a miscarrying<MH7921> womb<MH7358> and dried-up<MH6784> breasts<MH7699a>. <poetry><p class="paragraph"><p class="indent1"><span class="reftext"><a href="/hosea/9-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>All<MH3605> their evil<MH7463a> is at Gilgal<MH1537>; <t><p class="indent1">Indeed<MH3588>, I came to hate<MH8130> them there<MH8033>! <t><p class="indent1">Because<MH5921> of the wickedness<MH7455> of their deeds<MH4611> <t><p class="indent1">I will drive<MH1644> them out<MH1644> of My house<MH1004>! <t><p class="indent1">I will no<MH3808> longer<MH3254> love<MH157> them;
