He also made<MH6213a> a house<MH1004> like this<MH2088> hall<MH197> for Pharaoh&#8217;s<MH6547> daughter<MH1323>, whom<MH834> Solomon<MH8010> had married<MH3947>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/7-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>All<MH3605> of these<MH428> were <i>made</i> of valuable<MH3368> stones<MH68>, of stone<MH1496> cut<MH1496> according to measure<MH4060a>, sawed<MH1641> with saws<MH4050>, inside<MH4480, 1004> and outside<MH4480, 2351>; even from the foundation<MH4527> to the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[e]</a></span>coping<MH2947>, and from the outside<MH2351> to the large<MH1419> courtyard<MH2691a>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/7-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>And the foundation<MH3245> was of valuable<MH3368> stones<MH68>, large<MH1419> stones<MH68>, stones<MH68> of <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[f]</a></span>ten<MH6235> cubits<MH520> and stones<MH68> of eight<MH8083> cubits<MH520>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/7-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>And above<MH4480, 4605> were valuable<MH3368> stones<MH68>, cut<MH1496> according to measure<MH4060a>, and cedar<MH730>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/7-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>So the large<MH1419> courtyard<MH2691a> all<MH5439> around<MH5439> <i>had</i> three<MH7969> rows<MH2905> of cut<MH1496> stone<MH1496> and a row<MH2905> of cedar<MH730> beams<MH3773> as well as the inner<MH6442> courtyard<MH2691a> of the house<MH1004> of the LORD<MH3068>, and the porch<MH197> of the house<MH1004>. <p class="hdg">Hiram&#8217;s Work in the Temple</p><p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/7-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>Now King<MH4428> Solomon<MH8010> sent<MH7971> <i>word</i> and had Hiram<MH2438> brought<MH3947> from Tyre<MH6865>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/7-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>He was a widow&#8217;s<MH490> son<MH1121> from the tribe<MH4294> of Naphtali<MH5321>, and his father<MH1> was a man<MH376> of Tyre<MH6876>, an artisan<MH2790a> in bronze<MH5178>; and he was filled<MH4390> with wisdom<MH2451>, skill<MH8394>, and knowledge<MH1847> for doing<MH6213a> any<MH3605> work<MH4399> in bronze<MH5178>. So he came<MH935> to King<MH4428> Solomon<MH8010> and performed<MH6213a> all<MH3605> his work<MH4399>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/7-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>He fashioned<MH6696c> the two<MH8147> pillars<MH5982> of bronze<MH5178>; <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[g]</a></span>eighteen<MH8083, 6240> cubits<MH520> was the height<MH6967> of <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[h]</a></span>each<MH259> pillar<MH5982>, and a line<MH2339> of <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[i]</a></span>twelve<MH8147, 6240> cubits<MH520> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[j]</a></span>measured<MH5437> the<MH5437> circumference<MH5437> of both<MH8147>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/7-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>He also made<MH6213a> two<MH8147> capitals<MH3805> of cast<MH4165> bronze<MH5178> to put<MH5414> on the tops<MH7218> of the pillars<MH5982>; the height<MH6967> of the one<MH259> capital<MH3805> was <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[k]</a></span>five<MH2568> cubits<MH520> and the height<MH6967> of the other<MH8145> capital<MH3805> was <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[l]</a></span>five<MH2568> cubits<MH520>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/7-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span><i>There were</i> lattices<MH7639> of latticework<MH4639, 7639> and wreaths<MH1434> of chainwork<MH4639, 8333> for the capitals<MH3805> which<MH834> were on the top<MH7218> of the pillars<MH5982>; seven<MH7651> for the one<MH259> capital<MH3805> and seven<MH7651> for the other<MH8145> capital<MH3805>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/7-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>So he made<MH6213a> the pillars<MH5982>, and two<MH8147> rows<MH2905> around<MH5439> on the one<MH259> lattice<MH7639> to cover<MH3680> the capitals<MH3805> which<MH834> were on the top<MH7218> of the pomegranates<MH7416>; and so<MH3651> he did<MH6213a> for the other<MH8145> capital<MH3805>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/7-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>The capitals<MH3805> which<MH834> <i>were</i> on the tops<MH7218> of the pillars<MH5982> in the porch<MH197> were of lily<MH7799> design<MH4639>, four<MH702> cubits<MH520>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/7-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>So <i>there were</i> capitals<MH3805> on the two<MH8147> pillars<MH5982>, also<MH1571> above<MH4480, 4605> <i>and</i> close<MH4480, 5980> to the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[m]</a></span>rounded<MH990> projection<MH990> which<MH834> was beside<MH5676> the lattice<MH7639>; and the pomegranates<MH7416> <i>totaled</i> two hundred<MH3967> in rows<MH2905> around<MH5439> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[n]</a></span>both<MH8145> capitals<MH3805>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/7-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span>And he set<MH6965> up<MH6965> the pillars<MH5982> at the porch<MH197> of the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[o]</a></span>main<MH1964> room<MH1964>: he set<MH6965> up<MH6965> the right<MH3233> pillar<MH5982> and named<MH7121, 8034> it <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[p]</a></span>Jachin<MH3199>, and he set<MH6965> up<MH6965> the left<MH8042> pillar<MH5982> and named<MH7121, 8034> it <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[q]</a></span>Boaz<MH1162>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/7-22.htm"><b>22</b></a></span>On the top<MH7218> of the pillars<MH5982> was <i>the</i> lily<MH7799> design<MH4639>. So the work<MH4399> of the pillars<MH5982> was finished<MH8552>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/7-23.htm"><b>23</b></a></span>He also he made<MH6213a> the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[r]</a></span>Sea<MH3220> of cast<MH3332> <i>metal</i> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[s]</a></span>ten<MH6235> cubits<MH520> from brim<MH8193> to brim<MH8193>, circular<MH5696, 5439> <i>in shape,</i> and its height<MH6967> was five<MH2568> cubits<MH520>, and <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[t]</a></span>it was <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[u]</a></span>thirty<MH7970> cubits<MH520> in circumference<MH6961a, 5437, 5439>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/7-24.htm"><b>24</b></a></span>Under<MH8478> its brim<MH8193> gourds<MH6497> <i>went</i> around<MH5439> encircling<MH5437> it ten<MH6235> to a cubit<MH520>, completely<MH5439> surrounding<MH5362b> the Sea<MH3220>; the gourds<MH6497> were in two<MH8147> rows<MH2905>, cast<MH3332> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[v]</a></span>with the rest<MH3333>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/7-25.htm"><b>25</b></a></span>It was standing<MH5975> on twelve<MH8147, 6240> oxen<MH1241>, three<MH7969> facing<MH6437> north<MH6828>, three<MH7969> facing<MH6437> west<MH3220>, three<MH7969> facing<MH6437> south<MH5045>, and three<MH7969> facing<MH6437> east<MH4217>; and the Sea<MH3220> <i>was set</i> on top<MH4605> of them, and all<MH3605> their rear<MH268> parts<MH268> <i>turned</i> inward<MH1004>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/7-26.htm"><b>26</b></a></span>And it was a <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[w]</a></span>hand<MH2947> width<MH2947> thick<MH5672>, and its brim<MH8193> was made<MH4639> like the brim<MH8193> of a cup<MH3563a>, <i>like</i> a lily<MH7799> blossom<MH6525>; it could hold<MH3557> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[x]</a></span>two thousand<MH505> baths<MH1324>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/7-27.htm"><b>27</b></a></span>Then he made<MH6213a> the ten<MH6235> stands<MH4350> of bronze<MH5178>; the length<MH753> of each<MH259> stand<MH4350> was <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[y]</a></span>four<MH702> cubits<MH520>, its width<MH7341> four<MH702> cubits<MH520>, and its height<MH6967> was three<MH7969> cubits<MH520>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/7-28.htm"><b>28</b></a></span>This<MH2088> was the design<MH4639> of the stands<MH4350>: they had borders<MH4526>, that is, borders<MH4526> between<MH996> the crossbars<MH7948>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/7-29.htm"><b>29</b></a></span>and on the borders<MH4526> which<MH834> were between<MH996> the crossbars<MH7948> <i>were</i> lions<MH738>, oxen<MH1241>, and cherubim<MH3742>; and on the crossbars<MH7948> there <i>was</i> a pedestal<MH3653b> above<MH4480, 4605>, and beneath<MH4480, 8478> the lions<MH738> and oxen<MH1241> <i>were</i> wreaths<MH3914> of hanging<MH4174> work<MH4639>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/7-30.htm"><b>30</b></a></span>Now each<MH259> stand<MH4350> had four<MH702> bronze<MH5178> wheels<MH212> with bronze<MH5178> axles<MH5633b>, and its four<MH702> feet<MH6471> had supports<MH3802>; beneath<MH4480, 8478> the basin<MH3595> <i>were</i> cast<MH3332> supports<MH3802> with wreaths<MH3914> at each<MH376> side<MH5676>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/7-31.htm"><b>31</b></a></span>And its opening<MH6310> inside<MH4480, 1004> the crown<MH3805> at the top<MH4605> <i>was</i> a <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[z]</a></span>cubit<MH520>, and its opening<MH6310> <i>was</i> round<MH5696> <i>like</i> the design<MH4639> of a pedestal<MH3653b>, a cubit<MH520> and a half<MH2677>; and on its opening<MH6310> also<MH1571> <i>there were</i> engravings<MH4734>, and their borders<MH4526> were square<MH7251>, not round<MH5696>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/7-32.htm"><b>32</b></a></span>The four<MH702> wheels<MH212> <i>were</i> underneath<MH8478> the borders<MH4526>, and the axles<MH3027> of the wheels<MH212> <i>were</i> on the stand<MH4350>. And the height<MH6967> of a wheel<MH212> <i>was</i> a cubit<MH520> and a half<MH2677>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/1_kings/7-33.htm"><b>33</b></a></span>The workmanship<MH4639> of the wheels<MH212> <i>was</i> like the workmanship<MH4639> of a chariot<MH4818> wheel<MH212>.
