trypsin and chymotrypsin are the 2 proteases that play the important role in protein digestion and involving in growth rate. In many animals, these two enzymes are indicated as growth parameter by feed. Although enzyme assay at optimal condition is significant for its accuracy activity determination. There is less report of trypsin and chymotrypsin. Therefore, in this study, optimization of pH and temperature for trypsin (T) and chymotrypsin (C) in economic species; i.e. Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), sand goby (Oxyeleotoris marmoratus), giant freshwater prawn (Macrobachium rosenberchii) and native chicken (Gallus gallus) were investigated. Each enzyme of each species was assaying for its specific activity with variation of pH in range of 2-12 and temperature in range of 30-80 掳C. It revealed that, for Nile tilapia, T had optimal condition at pH 9 and temperature 50-80 掳C, whereas C had optimal condition at pH 8 and temperature 60 掳C. For sand goby, T had optimal condition at pH 7 and temperature of 50 掳C, while C had optimal condition at pH 11 and temperature of 70-75 掳C. For juvenile freshwater prawn, T had optimal condition at pH 10-11 and temperature of 60-65 掳C, C had optimal condition at pH 8 and temperature of 70掳C. For starter native chicken, T has optimal condition at pH 7 and temperature of 70 掳C, whereas C had o optimal condition at pH 8 and temperature of 60掳C. This information of optimal conditions will be high valuable in further for, actual enzyme measurement of T and C activities that benefit for growth and feed analysis. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=trypsin" title="trypsin">trypsin</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=chymotrypsin" title=" chymotrypsin"> chymotrypsin</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Oreochromis%20niloticus" title=" Oreochromis niloticus"> Oreochromis niloticus</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Oxyeleotoris%20marmoratus" title=" Oxyeleotoris marmoratus"> Oxyeleotoris marmoratus</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Macrobachium%20rosenberchii" title=" Macrobachium rosenberchii"> Macrobachium rosenberchii</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Gallus%20gallus" title=" Gallus gallus"> Gallus gallus</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/64899/condition-optimization-for-trypsin-and-chymotrypsin-activities-in-economic-animals" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/64899.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">259</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2</span> Garlic Extracts Stimulating Innate Immune System in Marble Goby (Oxyeleotris marmoratus)</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jiraporn%20Rojtinnakorn">Jiraporn Rojtinnakorn</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mallika%20Supa-Aksorn"> Mallika Supa-Aksorn</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sudaporn%20Tongsiri"> Sudaporn Tongsiri</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Prachaub%20Chaibu"> Prachaub Chaibu</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Marble goby is one of high demand consuming in Southeast Asia. However, the product was from riparian fisheries because of low yield in aquaculture, especially in nursery stage. Therefore, we studied for herb supplement in pellet feed of marble goby fingering. Garlic, a common herb and illustrated novel pharmaceutical and medical effectiveness, was considered. Garlic extracts with water (DW), 50% EtOH (50E), 95% EtOH (95E) and diethyl ether (DE) were subjected for feed additive to induce immune response in marble goby fingering for 0 (control), 0.3, 0.5, 1.0, 3.0 and 5.0 % (w/w). After seven days of feeding, blood was collected for analysis of blood composition; i.e. haematocrit (HCT), red blood cells (RBC), white blood cells (WBC) and humoral immune responses; i.e. lysozyme activity (Lys). It was resulted that values of HCT, WBC and Lys in all garlic fed group were significantly different from control (p < 0.05). For HCT, the highest values belonged to 5% DW and 0.5% 95E. For WBC and Lys, the highest values were 5% DW. For RBC, there was not obviously significant (p < 0.05). There were only 3 groups; 0.5% 95E, 1% and 5% DW, showed distinct statistical significance from the other groups. It was concluded that garlic extracts showed satisfy bioactivity to enhancing innate immune response in marble goby fingering. This result will be valuable for specific feed formula of marble goby nursery. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=garlic%20extract" title="garlic extract">garlic extract</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=innate%20immune" title=" innate immune"> innate immune</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=marble%20goby" title=" marble goby"> marble goby</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Oxyeleotris%20marmoratus" title=" Oxyeleotris marmoratus "> Oxyeleotris marmoratus </a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/64906/garlic-extracts-stimulating-innate-immune-system-in-marble-goby-oxyeleotris-marmoratus" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/64906.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">314</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1</span> Biological Aquaculture System (BAS) Design and Water Quality on Marble Goby (Oxyeleotris marmoratus): A Water Recirculating Technology</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=AnnWon%20Chew">AnnWon Chew</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nik%20Norulaini%20Nik%20Ab%20Rahman"> Nik Norulaini Nik Ab Rahman</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohd%20Omar%20Ab%20Kadir"> Mohd Omar Ab Kadir</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=C.%20C.%20Chen"> C. The novel aspects of the process lie in a series of bioreactors that specially arrange and design to meet the required conditions for water purification. The BAS maximizes the utilization of bio-balls as the ideal surface for beneficial microbes to flourish. It also serves as a physical barrier that traps organic particles, which in turn becomes source for the microbes to perform their work. The operation in the proposed system gives a low concentration and average range of good maintain excellent water quality, i.e., with low levels of ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, a suitable pH range for aquaculture and low turbidity. The BAS thus provides a solution for sustainable small-scale, urban aquaculture operation with a high recovery water and minimal waste disposal. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a
