<span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/13-3.htm"><b>3</b></a></span>from the Shihor<MH7883> which<MH834> is <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[a]</a></span>east<MH5921, 6440> of Egypt<MH4714>, even as far<MH5704> as the border<MH1366> of Ekron<MH6138> to the north<MH6828> (it is counted<MH2803> as Canaanite<MH3669a>); the five<MH2568> governors<MH5633a> of the Philistines<MH6430>: the Gazite<MH5841>, the Ashdodite<MH796>, the Ashkelonite<MH832>, the Gittite<MH1663>, the Ekronite<MH6139>; and the Avvite<MH5761> <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/13-4.htm"><b>4</b></a></span><span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[b]</a></span>to the south<MH8486>, all<MH3605> the land<MH776> of the Canaanite<MH3669a>, and Mearah<MH4632> that belongs to the Sidonians<MH6722>, as far<MH5704> as Aphek<MH663>, to the border<MH1366> of the Amorite<MH567>; <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/13-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span>and the land<MH776> of the Gebalite<MH1382>, and all<MH3605> of Lebanon<MH3844>, toward the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[c]</a></span>east<MH4217, 8121>, from Baal-gad<MH1171> below<MH8478> Mount<MH2022> Hermon<MH2768> as far<MH5704> as <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[d]</a></span>Lebo-hamath<MH935>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/13-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>All<MH3605> the inhabitants<MH3427> of the hill<MH2022> country<MH2022> from Lebanon<MH3844> as far<MH5704> as Misrephoth-maim<MH4956>, all<MH3605> the Sidonians<MH6722>, I will <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[e]</a></span>drive<MH3423> out<MH3423> from the sons<MH1121> of Israel<MH3478>; only<MH7534b> allot<MH5307> it to Israel<MH3478> as an inheritance<MH5159> as I have commanded<MH6680> you. <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/13-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>Now<MH6258> therefore, apportion<MH2505a> this<MH2088> land<MH776> as an inheritance<MH5159> to the nine<MH8672> tribes<MH7626> and the half-tribe<MH2677, 7626> of Manasseh<MH4519>.” <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/13-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>With <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[f]</a></span>the other half-tribe, the Reubenites<MH7206> and the Gadites<MH1425> received<MH3947> their inheritance<MH5159> which<MH834> Moses<MH4872> gave<MH5414> them beyond<MH5676> the Jordan<MH3383> to the east<MH4217>, just<MH3512c> as<MH3512c> Moses<MH4872> the servant<MH5650> of the LORD<MH3068> gave<MH5414> to them; <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/13-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>from Aroer<MH6177>, which<MH834> is on the edge<MH8193> of the Valley<MH5158a> of the Arnon<MH769>, with the city<MH5892b> which<MH834> is in the middle<MH8432> of the valley<MH5158a>, and all<MH3605> the plain<MH4334> of Medeba<MH4311>, as far<MH5704> as Dibon<MH1769>; <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/13-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>and all<MH3605> the cities<MH5892b> of Sihon<MH5511> king<MH4428> of the Amorites<MH567>, who<MH834> reigned<MH4427a> in Heshbon<MH2809>, as far<MH5704> as the border<MH1366> of the sons<MH1121> of Ammon<MH5983>; <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/13-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>and Gilead<MH1568>, and the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[g]</a></span>territory<MH1366> of the Geshurites<MH1651> and Maacathites<MH4602>, and all<MH3605> Mount<MH2022> Hermon<MH2768>, and all<MH3605> Bashan<MH1316> as far<MH5704> as Salecah<MH5548>; <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/13-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>all<MH3605> the kingdom<MH4468> of Og<MH5747> in Bashan<MH1316>, who<MH834> reigned<MH4427a> in Ashtaroth<MH6252a> and in Edrei<MH154> (he <i>alone</i> was left<MH7604> of the remnant<MH3499a> of the Rephaim<MH7497>); for Moses<MH4872> struck<MH5221> them and <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[h]</a></span>drove<MH3423> them out<MH3423>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/13-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>But the sons<MH1121> of Israel<MH3478> did not <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[i]</a></span>drive<MH3423> out<MH3423> the Geshurites<MH1651> or the Maacathites<MH4602>; instead, Geshur<MH1650> and Maacath<MH4601> live<MH3427> among<MH7130> Israel<MH3478> to this<MH2088> day<MH3117>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/13-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>Only<MH7534b> to the tribe<MH7626> of Levi<MH3878> he did not give<MH5414> an inheritance<MH5159>; the offerings<MH801> by<MH801> fire<MH801> to the LORD<MH3068>, the God<MH430> of Israel<MH3478>, are <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[j]</a></span>their inheritance<MH5159>, as He spoke<MH1696> to him. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/13-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>So Moses<MH4872> gave<MH5414> <i>an inheritance</i> to the tribe<MH4294> of the sons<MH1121> of Reuben<MH7205> according to their families<MH4940>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/13-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>Their <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[k]</a></span>territory<MH1366> was from Aroer<MH6177>, which<MH834> is on the edge<MH8193> of the Valley<MH5158a> of the Arnon<MH769>, with the city<MH5892b> which<MH834> is in the middle<MH8432> of the valley<MH5158a> and all<MH3605> the plain<MH4334> by Medeba<MH4311>; <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/13-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>Heshbon<MH2809> and all<MH3605> its cities<MH5892b> which<MH834> are on the plain<MH4334>: Dibon<MH1769>, Bamoth-baal<MH1120, 1168a>, Beth-baal-meon<MH1010>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/13-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>Jahaz<MH3096>, Kedemoth<MH6932>, Mephaath<MH4158>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/13-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>Kiriathaim<MH7156>, Sibmah<MH7643>, Zereth-shahar<MH6890> on the hill<MH2022> of the valley<MH6010>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/13-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>Beth-peor<MH1047>, the slopes<MH794> of Pisgah<MH6449>, Beth-jeshimoth<MH1020>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/13-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span>even all<MH3605> the cities<MH5892b> of the plain<MH4334>, and all<MH3605> the kingdom<MH4468> of Sihon<MH5511> king<MH4428> of the Amorites<MH567>, who<MH834> reigned<MH4427a> in Heshbon<MH2809>, whom<MH834> Moses<MH4872> struck<MH5221> with the leaders<MH5387a> of Midian<MH4080>, Evi<MH189>, Rekem<MH7552>, Zur<MH6698>, Hur<MH2354>, and Reba<MH7254>, the leaders<MH5257b> of Sihon<MH5511>, who lived<MH3427> in the land<MH776>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/13-22.htm"><b>22</b></a></span>The sons<MH1121> of Israel<MH3478> also killed<MH2026> Balaam<MH1109a> the son<MH1121> of Beor<MH1160>, the diviner<MH7080>, with the sword<MH2719> among<MH413> <i>the rest of</i> their dead<MH2491a>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/13-23.htm"><b>23</b></a></span>The border<MH1366> of the sons<MH1121> of Reuben<MH7205> was the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[l]</a></span>Jordan<MH3383>. This<MH2088> was the inheritance<MH5159> of the sons<MH1121> of Reuben<MH7205> according to their families<MH4940>, the cities<MH5892b> and their villages<MH2691b>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/13-24.htm"><b>24</b></a></span>Moses<MH4872> also gave<MH5414> <i>an inheritance</i> to the tribe<MH4294> of Gad<MH1410>, to the sons<MH1121> of Gad<MH1410> according to their families<MH4940>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/13-25.htm"><b>25</b></a></span>Their territory<MH1366> was Jazer<MH3270> and all<MH3605> the cities<MH5892b> of Gilead<MH1568>, and half<MH2677> the land<MH776> of the sons<MH1121> of Ammon<MH5983>, as far<MH5704> as Aroer<MH6177> which<MH834> is opposite<MH5921, 6440> Rabbah<MH7237>; <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/13-27.htm"><b>27</b></a></span>and in the valley<MH6010>, Beth-haram<MH1027>, Beth-nimrah<MH1039>, Succoth<MH5523>, and Zaphon<MH6829>, the rest<MH3499a> of the kingdom<MH4468> of Sihon<MH5511> king<MH4428> of Heshbon<MH2809>, with the Jordan<MH3383> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[n]</a></span>as a border<MH1366>, as far<MH5704> as the <i>lower</i> end<MH7097a> of the Sea<MH3220> of <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[o]</a></span>Chinnereth<MH3672> beyond<MH5676> the Jordan<MH3383> to the east<MH4217>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/13-28.htm"><b>28</b></a></span>This<MH2088> is the inheritance<MH5159> of the sons<MH1121> of Gad<MH1410> according to their families<MH4940>, the cities<MH5892b> and their villages<MH2691b>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/13-29.htm"><b>29</b></a></span>Moses<MH4872> also gave<MH5414> <i>an inheritance</i> to the half-tribe<MH2677, 7626> of Manasseh<MH4519>; and it was for the half-tribe<MH2677, 4294> of the sons<MH1121> of Manasseh<MH4519> according to their families<MH4940>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/joshua/13-30.htm"><b>30</b></a></span>Their territory<MH1366> was from Mahanaim<MH4266>, all<MH3605> Bashan<MH1316>, all<MH3605> the kingdom<MH4468> of Og<MH5747> king<MH4428> of Bashan<MH1316>, and all<MH3605> the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[p]</a></span>towns<MH2333> of Jair<MH2971>, which<MH834> are in Bashan<MH1316>, sixty<MH8346> cities<MH5892b>;
