Some of the stats and quotes that caught my attention:</p><p id="de72" class="pw-post-body-paragraph oo op hd oq b ig or os ot ij ou ov ow ox oy oz pa pb pc pd pe pf pg ph pi pj gw bk"><strong class="oq hn">Home sales volumes remain depressed. </strong>“2024 has been a very difficult year on many fronts,” Lawrence Yun, NAR’s chief economist, told the masses. “We did not get the home sales recovery this year after an awful 2023.” Yun anticipates a 10 percent boost in home sales by 2025-26, perhaps out of sheer necessity — the U.S. population continues to grow, and there are 72 million more Americans now than there were in 1995. (If you’re scoring at home, U.S. Census Bureau stats say there were 265 million people in the nation in 1995 and 337 million now.)</p><p id="70aa" class="pw-post-body-paragraph oo op hd oq b ig or os ot ij ou ov ow ox oy oz pa pb pc pd pe pf pg ph pi pj gw bk"><strong class="oq hn">The gap between the housing haves and have-nots is growing</strong>. Total U.S. household real estate equity stands at $35 trillion, translating to more than $400,000 per homeowner in housing wealth. “Homeowners’ wealth steadily rises while renters’ wealth does not,” Yun said. “If you don’t enter the housing market, you are in the renter class where wealth is not being accumulated. If you want to participate in the housing market, the sooner you get in, the sooner you accumulate wealth.”</p></div></div></div></div></section></div></div></article></div><div
