It may have been called "Mill Village" before that, but it doesn't show on any earlier maps. It was renamed East Dedham sometime between <a rel="nofollow" class="external text" href="https://www.newspapers.com/article/the-boston-globe/150613048/">1900</a> and <a rel="nofollow" class="external text" href="https://www.newspapers.com/article/the-boston-globe/150613058/">1907</a>; it appears the post office was renamed in <a rel="nofollow" class="external text" href="https://www.newspapers.com/article/the-boston-globe/150613073/">1901</a>. It was a stop up until Dedham Branch service ended in 1967. <i>Boston's Commuter Rail: Second Section</i> has an undated photo on page 31. As a general rule of thumb you want the sun behind you and illuminating your subject for the best results.</dd> <dd>You could try going in the morning to see if that gets you better lighting, as the sun will be from the southeast then. In general photographing towards the south is tricky this time of the year as the sun will always be from the south, and it might be impossible to avoid being backlit. You may need to wait for summmertime, when the sun takes a higher arc.</dd> <dd>The current photo was taken in July on an overcast day, so it doesn't have backlighting issues.</dd> <dd>If you're forced into a backlit scenario, you'll get slightly better results if you wait for a cloud to come shade over the sun (that's what I did with the Riverway photo).
