brother<MG80> of <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[b]</a></span>James<MG2385>, <p class="paragraph"> To those<MG3588> who are the called<MG2822>, beloved<MG25> in God<MG2316> the Father<MG3962>, and kept<MG5083> for Jesus<MG2424> Christ<MG5547>: <span class="reftext"><a href="/jude/1-2.htm"><b>2</b></a></span>May mercy<MG1656>, peace<MG1515>, and love<MG26> be multiplied<MG4129> to you. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/jude/1-3.htm"><b>3</b></a></span>Beloved<MG27>, while I was making<MG4160> every<MG3956> effort<MG4710> to write<MG1125> you about<MG4012> our common<MG2839> salvation<MG4991>, I felt<MG2192> the necessity<MG318> to write<MG1125> to you appealing<MG3870> that you contend<MG1864> earnestly<MG1864> for the faith<MG4102> that was once<MG530> for<MG530> all<MG530> <i>time</i> handed<MG3860> down<MG3860> to the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[c]</a></span>saints<MG40>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/jude/1-4.htm"><b>4</b></a></span>For certain<MG5100> people<MG444> have crept<MG3921> in<MG3921> unnoticed<MG3921>, those<MG3588> who were long<MG3819> beforehand<MG4270> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[d]</a></span>marked<MG4270> out<MG4270> for this<MG3778> condemnation<MG2917>, ungodly<MG765> persons<MG765> who turn<MG3346a> the grace<MG5485> of our God<MG2316> into indecent<MG766> behavior<MG766> and deny<MG720> our only<MG3441> Master<MG1203> and Lord<MG2962>, Jesus<MG2424> Christ<MG5547>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/jude/1-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span>Now<MG1161> I want<MG1014> to remind<MG5279> you, though you know<MG3609a> everything<MG3956> once<MG530> <i>and</i> for<MG530> all<MG530>, that <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[e]</a></span>the Lord<MG2962>, after saving<MG4982> a people<MG2992> out of the land<MG1093> of Egypt<MG125>, <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[f]</a></span>subsequently<MG1208> destroyed<MG622> those<MG3588> who did not believe<MG4100>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/jude/1-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>And angels<MG32a> who did not keep<MG5083> their own<MG1438> domain<MG746> but abandoned<MG620> their proper<MG2398> dwelling<MG3613> place<MG3613>, <i>these</i> He has kept<MG5083> in eternal<MG126> restraints<MG1199> under<MG5259> darkness<MG2217> for the judgment<MG2920> of the great<MG3173> day<MG2250>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/jude/1-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>just<MG5613> as<MG5613> Sodom<MG4670> and Gomorrah<MG1116> and the cities<MG4172> around<MG4012> them, since they in the same<MG3664> way<MG5158> as these<MG3778> <i>angels</i> indulged<MG1608> in<MG1608> sexual<MG1608> perversion<MG1608> and went<MG565> after<MG3694> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[g]</a></span>strange<MG2087> flesh<MG4561>, are exhibited<MG4295> as an <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[h]</a></span>example<MG1164> in undergoing<MG5254> the punishment<MG1349> of eternal<MG166> fire<MG4442>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/jude/1-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>Yet<MG3305> in the same<MG3668> way<MG3668> these<MG3778> people<MG3778> also<MG2532>, dreaming<MG1797>, defile<MG3392> the flesh<MG4561>, reject<MG114> authority<MG2963>, and speak<MG987> abusively<MG987> of <i>angelic</i> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[i]</a></span>majesties<MG1391>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/jude/1-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>But Michael<MG3413> the archangel<MG743>, when<MG3753> he disputed<MG1252> with the devil<MG1228> and argued<MG1256> about<MG4012> the body<MG4983> of Moses<MG3475>, did not dare<MG5111> pronounce<MG2018> against<MG2018> him an abusive<MG988> judgment<MG2920>, but said<MG3004>, “The Lord<MG2962> rebuke<MG2008> you!” <span class="reftext"><a href="/jude/1-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>But these<MG3778> people<MG3778> disparage<MG987> all<MG3745> the things that<MG3745> they do not understand<MG3609a>; and all<MG3745> the things that<MG3745> they know<MG1987> by instinct<MG5447>, like<MG5613> unreasoning<MG249> animals<MG2226>, by these<MG3778> things<MG3778> they are destroyed<MG5351>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/jude/1-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>Woe<MG3759> to them! For they have gone<MG4198> the way<MG3598> of Cain<MG2535>, and for pay<MG3408> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[j]</a></span>they have given<MG1632b> themselves up<MG1632b> to the error<MG4106> of Balaam<MG903>, and perished<MG622> in the rebellion<MG485> of Korah<MG2879>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/jude/1-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>These<MG3778> are the ones<MG3588> who are <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[k]</a></span>hidden<MG4694> reefs<MG4694> in your love<MG26> feasts<MG26> when they feast<MG4910> with you without<MG870> fear<MG870>, <i>like shepherds</i> caring<MG4165> <i>only</i> for themselves<MG1438>; clouds<MG3507> without<MG504> water<MG504>, carried<MG3911> along<MG3911> by winds<MG417>; autumn<MG5352> trees<MG1186> without<MG175> fruit<MG175>, <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[l]</a></span>doubly<MG1364> dead<MG599>, uprooted<MG1610>; <span class="reftext"><a href="/jude/1-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>wild<MG66> waves<MG2949> of the sea<MG2281>, churning<MG1890> up<MG1890> their own<MG1438> shameful<MG152> deeds<MG152> like<MG1890> <i>dirty</i> foam<MG1890>; wandering<MG4107> stars<MG792>, for whom<MG3739> the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[m]</a></span>gloom<MG2217> of darkness<MG4655> has been reserved<MG5083> forever<MG165>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/jude/1-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span><i>It was</i> also<MG2532> about these<MG3778> people<MG3778> <i>that</i> Enoch<MG1802>, <i>in the</i> seventh<MG1442> <i>generation</i> from Adam<MG76>, prophesied<MG4395>, saying<MG3004>, “Behold<MG2400>, the Lord<MG2962> has come<MG2064> with <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[n]</a></span>many<MG3461> thousands<MG3461> of His holy<MG40> ones<MG40>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/jude/1-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>to execute<MG4160> judgment<MG2920> upon all<MG3956>, and to convict<MG1651> all<MG3956> the ungodly<MG765> of all<MG3956> their ungodly<MG763> deeds<MG2041> which<MG3739> they have done<MG764> in<MG764> an<MG764> ungodly<MG764> way<MG764>, and of all<MG3956> the harsh<MG4642> things<MG4642> which<MG3739> ungodly<MG763> sinners<MG268> have spoken<MG2980> against<MG2596> Him.” <span class="reftext"><a href="/jude/1-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>These<MG3778> are grumblers<MG1113>, finding<MG3202> fault<MG3202>, following<MG4198> after<MG2596> their <i>own</i> lusts<MG1939>; <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[o]</a></span>they speak<MG2980> arrogantly<MG5246>, flattering<MG2296> people<MG4383> for the sake<MG5484> of <i>gaining an</i> advantage<MG5622>. <p class="hdg">Keep Yourselves in the Love of God</p><p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/jude/1-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>But you, beloved<MG27>, ought to remember<MG3403> the words<MG4487> that were spoken<MG4275b> beforehand<MG4275b> by the apostles<MG652> of our Lord<MG2962> Jesus<MG2424> Christ<MG5547>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/jude/1-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>that they were saying<MG3004> to you, “In the last<MG2078> time<MG5550> there will be mockers<MG1703>, following<MG4198> after<MG2596> their own<MG1438> ungodly<MG763> lusts<MG1939>.” <span class="reftext"><a href="/jude/1-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>These<MG3778> are the ones who cause<MG592> divisions<MG592>, <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[p]</a></span>worldly-minded<MG5591>, <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[q]</a></span>devoid<MG3361, 2192> of the Spirit<MG4151>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/jude/1-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>But you, beloved<MG27>, building<MG2026> yourselves<MG1438> up<MG2026> on<MG2026> your most<MG40> holy<MG40> faith<MG4102>, praying<MG4336> in the Holy<MG40> Spirit<MG4151>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/jude/1-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span>keep<MG5083> yourselves<MG1438> in the love<MG26> of God<MG2316>, looking<MG4327> forward<MG4327> to the mercy<MG1656> of our Lord<MG2962> Jesus<MG2424> Christ<MG5547> to eternal<MG166> life<MG2222>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/jude/1-22.htm"><b>22</b></a></span>And have<MG1653> mercy<MG1653> on some<MG3739, 3303a>, who are doubting<MG1252>;
