W spotkaniu 12. kolejki Ekstraklasy Śląsk pokonał Lechię Gdańsk 1:0. To historyczne wydarzenie obejrzał komplet 42 771 widzów, co stanowi nowy rekord, odkąd w sezonie 2005/2006 rozgrywki zaczęła organizować Ekstraklasa SA.</p><p>Piłkarski wieczór we Wrocławiu rozpoczął się od dwóch małych uroczystości. Najpierw trener gospodarzy Orest Lenczyk odebrał nagrodę dla Trenera Miesiąca Ekstraklasy z rąk prezydenta Wrocławia Rafała Dutkiewicza oraz prezesa Ekstraklasy SA Andrzeja Rusko. Chwilę później kapitan wrocławian Sebastian Mila otrzymał pamiątkowy prezent z okazji rozegrania stu meczów w barwach Śląska.</p><p>Na pierwszą bramkę na nowym stadionie kibice czekali do 51. minuty, kiedy do siatki potężnym uderzeniem z pola karnego trafił Johan Voskamp. - Wiem, że zapisałem się w historii klubu i to wspaniałe uczucie - powiedział holenderski napastnik. - Jestem szczęśliwy, ponieważ spełniło się moje marzenie. Taki stadion i publiczność dodają skrzydeł. Mam nadzieję, że to będzie nasze wielkie wsparcie w walce o ligowe punkty.</p><p>Voskamp porównał również Stadion Miejski we Wrocławiu do największych aren w swojej ojczyźnie: - W Holandii mamy Arenę w Amsterdamie i De Kuip w Rotterdamie. Wrocławski obiekt jest do nich podobny i wygląda wspaniale. Chciałbym obejrzeć tutaj reprezentację Holandii podczas EURO.</p><p>Orest Lenczyk, 69-letni trener Śląska, krótko podsumował historyczny występ na nowym stadionie: - Doczekałem się. Przed meczem czułem emocje w zespole, zawodnicy rozmawiali o tym meczu. Wszyscy zdają sobie sprawę, że kibice chcą widzieć nie tylko ładny stadion, ale i dobry futbol.</p><p>- Stadion robi wielkie wrażenie - dodał pomocnik Łukasz Madej. - Mam nadzieję, że przyniesie nam szczęście. Chciałbym żebyśmy grali na poziomie odpowiednim dla tego stadionu.</p><p>Sebastian Dudek podkreślił, że większość zawodników Śląska nie grała jeszcze przed tak dużą widownią: - Nie mogliśmy jednak za bardzo o tym myśleć, bo mecz zszedłby na dalszy plany - zauważył. - Jednak przez cały wieczór gdzieś z tyłu głowy myśleliśmy o tej specjalnej okazji. Dlatego mecz był dla nas trudny.</p><p>- Atmosfera była niesamowita - dodał Waldemar Sobota. - Mówiąc szczerze, kiedy wychodziłem na boisko ciarki mi przeszły po plecach. Grać na takim stadionie przy takiej widowni, to coś niesamowitego.</p><p>Kolejny mecz na nowym stadionie we Wrocławiu, jednej z aren UEFA EURO 2012, odbędzie się 11 listopada.
