In the Old Testament, God frequently addresses nations, holding them accountable for their moral and spiritual conduct. For instance, in the book of Jeremiah, God speaks through the prophet to declare judgment on nations due to their idolatry and injustice: "At one moment I might announce that a nation or kingdom will be uprooted, torn down, and destroyed. But if that nation I warned turns from its evil, then I will relent of the disaster I had planned to inflict on it" (<a href="/jeremiah/18-7.htm">Jeremiah 18:7-8</a>).
