ecological systems. Some sensors have been developed to detect toxic materials and the standard for toxic materials has been established. Zinc oxide nanowire (ZnO NW) is known for toxic material. By ionizing in cell body, ionized Zn ions are overexposed to cell components, which cause critical damage or death. In this paper, we detected ZnO NW in water using QCM (Quartz Crystal Microbalance) and ssDNA (single strand DNA). We achieved 30 minutes of response time for real time detection and 100 pg/mL of limit of detection (LOD). <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=zinc%20oxide%20nanowire" title="zinc oxide nanowire">zinc oxide nanowire</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=QCM" title=" QCM"> QCM</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ssDNA" title=" ssDNA"> ssDNA</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=toxic%20material" title=" toxic material"> toxic material</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=biosensor" title=" biosensor"> biosensor</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/43680/ultra-sensitive-and-real-time-detection-of-zno-nw-using-qcm" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/43680.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">428</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">95</span> Sensing Mechanism of Nano-Toxic Ions Using Quartz Crystal Microbalance</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chanho%20Park">Chanho Park</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Juneseok%20You"> Juneseok You</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kuewhan%20Jang"> Kuewhan Jang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sungsoo%20Na"> Sungsoo Na</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Detection technique of nanotoxic materials is strongly imperative, because nano-toxic materials can harmfully influence human health and environment as their engineering applications are growing rapidly in recent years. In present work, we report the DNA immobilized quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) based sensor for detection of nano-toxic materials such as silver ions, Hg2+ etc. by using functionalization of quartz crystal with a target-specific DNA. Since the mass of a target material is comparable to that of an atom, the mass change caused by target binding to DNA on the quartz crystal is so small that it is practically difficult to detect the ions at low concentrations. In our study, we have demonstrated fast and in situ detection of nanotoxic materials using quartz crystal microbalance. We report the label-free and highly sensitive detection of silver ion for present case, which is a typical nano-toxic material by using QCM and silver-specific DNA. The detection is based on the measurement of frequency shift of Quartz crystal from constitution of the cytosine-Ag+-cytosine binding. It is shown that the silver-specific DNA measured frequency shift by QCM enables the capturing of silver ions below 100pM. The results suggest that DNA-based detection opens a new avenue for the development of a practical water-testing sensor. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=nano-toxic%20ions" title="nano-toxic ions">nano-toxic ions</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=quartz%20crystal%20microbalance" title=" quartz crystal microbalance"> quartz crystal microbalance</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=frequency%20shift" title=" frequency shift"> frequency shift</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=target-specific%20DNA" title=" target-specific DNA"> target-specific DNA</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/69750/sensing-mechanism-of-nano-toxic-ions-using-quartz-crystal-microbalance" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/69750.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">321</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">94</span> High-Quality Flavor of Black Belly Pork under Lightning Corona Discharge Using Tesla Coil for High Voltage Education</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kyung-Hoon%20Jang">Kyung-Hoon Jang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jae-Hyo%20Park"> Jae-Hyo Park</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kwang-Yeop%20Jang"> Kwang-Yeop Jang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Dongjin%20Kim"> Dongjin Kim</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The Tesla coil is an electrical resonant transformer circuit designed by inventor Nikola Tesla in 1891. It is used to produce high voltage, low current and high frequency alternating current electricity. Tesla experimented with a number of different configurations consisting of two or sometimes three coupled resonant electric circuits. This paper focuses on development and high voltage education to apply a Tesla coil to cuisine for high quality flavor and taste conditioning as well as high voltage education under 50 kV corona discharge. The result revealed that the velocity of roasted black belly pork by Tesla coil is faster than that of conventional methods such as hot grill and steel plate etc. depending on applied voltage level and applied voltage time. Besides, carbohydrate and crude protein increased, whereas natrium and saccharides significantly decreased after lightning surge by Tesla coil. This idea will be useful in high voltage education and high voltage application. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=corona%20discharge" title="corona discharge">corona discharge</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tesla%20coil" title=" Tesla coil"> Tesla coil</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=high%20voltage%20application" title=" high voltage application"> high voltage application</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=high%20voltage%20education" title=" high voltage education"> high voltage education</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/77120/high-quality-flavor-of-black-belly-pork-under-lightning-corona-discharge-using-tesla-coil-for-high-voltage-education" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/77120.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">328</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">93</span> Resistance of Mycobacterium tuberculosis to Daptomycin</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ji-Chan%20Jang">Ji-Chan Jang</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Tuberculosis is still major health problem because there is an increase of multidrug-resistant and extensively drug-resistant forms of the disease. A cut-off of 80% growth inhibition in the screening resulted in the identification of four different compounds at a single concentration (20 μM). Dose-response curves identified three different hit candidates, which generated good inhibitory curves. All hit candidates were expected to have different molecular targets. Thus, we found that compound X, identified, may be a promising candidate in the M. abscessus drug discovery pipeline. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mycobacterium%20abscessus" title="Mycobacterium abscessus">Mycobacterium abscessus</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=antibiotics" title=" antibiotics"> antibiotics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=drug%20discovery" title=" drug discovery"> drug discovery</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=emerging%20Pathogen" title=" emerging Pathogen"> emerging Pathogen</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/91908/screening-for-hit-identification-against-mycobacterium-abscessus" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/91908.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">209</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">90</span> A Preliminary Study of the Subcontractor Evaluation System for the International Construction Market</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hochan%20Seok">Hochan Seok</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Woosik%20Jang"> Woosik Jang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Seung-Heon%20Han"> Seung-Heon Han</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The stagnant global construction market has intensified competition since 2008 among firms that aim to win overseas contracts. Finally, to illustrate the capability of the proposed residual generation filter, numerical examples are performed for the discretized DC motor system having the multiple sensor faults. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=residual%20generation%20filter" title="residual generation filter">residual generation filter</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=finite%20memory%20structure" title=" finite memory structure"> finite memory structure</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=kalman%20filter" title=" kalman filter"> kalman filter</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fast%20detection" title=" fast detection"> fast detection</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/35140/a-finite-memory-residual-generation-filter-for-fault-detection" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/35140.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">698</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">87</span> An Experiment of Three-Dimensional Point Clouds Using GoPro</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jong-Hwa%20Kim">Jong-Hwa Kim</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mu-Wook%20Pyeon"> Mu-Wook Pyeon</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Yang-dam%20Eo"> Yang-dam Eo</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ill-Woong%20Jang"> Ill-Woong Jang</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Construction of geo-spatial information recently tends to develop as multi-dimensional geo-spatial information. Accordingly, the necessity of the tunnel has large section becomes more critical. Double deck tunnel can be one of the most appropriate solutions to the necessity. The dynamic stability of double deck tunnel is essential against seismic load since it has large section and connection between perimeter lining and interim slab. In this study, 3-dimensional dynamic numerical analysis was conducted based on the Finite Difference Method to investigate the seismic behavior of double deck tunnel. Seismic joint for dynamic stability and the mitigation of seismic impact on the lining was considered in the modeling and analysis. In acute preterm labor, tocolytics are administered as the first-line medication to suppress uterine contractions but rarely delay pregnancy to 37 weeks of gestation. On the other hand, according to the Korean Traditional Medicine, PTB is caused by the deficiency of Qi and unnecessary energy in the body of the mother. The aim of this study was to demonstrate the benefit of Traditional Korean Medicine as an adjuvant therapy in management of early uterine contractions and the prevention of PTB. Methods: It is a case report of a 38-year-old woman (0-0-6-0) hospitalized for irregular uterine contractions and cervical change at 33+3/7 weeks of gestation. Past history includes chemical pregnancies achieved by Artificial Rroductive Technology(ART), one stillbirth (at 7 weeks) and a laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis. After seven trials of IVF and articificial insemination, she had succeeded in conception via in-vitro fertilization (IVF) with help of Traditional Korean Medicine (TKM) treatments. Due to irregular uterine contractions and cervical changes, 2 TKM were prescribed: Gami-Dangguisan, and Antae-eum, known to nourish blood and clear away heat. 120ml of Gami-Dangguisan was given twice a day monring and evening along with same amount of Antae-eum once a day from 31 August 2013 to 28 November 2013. Tocolytics (Ritodrine) was administered as a first aid for maintenance of pregnancy. Information regarding progress until the delivery was collected during the patient’s visit. Results: On admission, the cervix of 15mm in length and cervical os with 0.5cm-dilated were observed via ultrasonography. 50% cervical effacement was also detected in physical examination. Tocolysis had been temporarily maintained. As a supportive therapy, TKM herbal preparations(gami-dangguisan and Antae-eum) were concomitantly given. As of 34+2/7 weeks of gestation, however intermittent uterine contractions appeared (5-12min) on cardiotocography and vaginal bleeding was also smeared at 34+3/7 weeks. However, enhanced tocolytics and continuous administration of herbal medicine sustained the pregnancy to term. At 37+2/7 weeks, no sign of labor with restored cervical length was confirmed. The woman gave a term birth to a healthy infant via vaginal delivery at 39+3/7 gestational weeks. Conclusions: This is the first successful case report about a preter labor patient administered with conventional tocolytic agents as well as TKM herbal decoctions, delaying delivery to term. This case deserves attention considering it is rare to maintain gestation to term only with tocolytic intervention. Our report implies the potential of herbal medicine as an adjuvant therapy for preterm labor treatment. Further studies are needed to assess the safety and efficacy of TKM herbal medicine as a therapeutic alternative for curing preterm birth. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=preterm%20labor" title="preterm labor">preterm labor</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=traditional%20Korean%20medicine" title=" traditional Korean medicine"> traditional Korean medicine</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=herbal%20medicine" title=" herbal medicine"> herbal medicine</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=integrative%20treatment" title=" integrative treatment"> integrative treatment</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=complementary%20and%20alternative%20medicine" title=" complementary and alternative medicine"> complementary and alternative medicine</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/49402/prevention-of-preterm-birth-and-management-of-uterine-contractions-with-traditional-korean-medicine-integrative-approach" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/49402.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">371</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">76</span> Numerical Study on Vortex-Driven Pressure Oscillation and Roll Torque Characteristics in a SRM with Two Inhibitors</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ji-Seok%20Hong">Ji-Seok Hong</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hee-Jang%20Moon"> Hee-Jang Moon</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hong-Gye%20Sung"> Hong-Gye Sung</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The details of flow structures and the coupling mechanism between vortex shedding and acoustic excitation in a solid rocket motor with two inhibitors have been investigated using 3D Large Eddy Simulation (LES) and Proper Orthogonal Decomposition (POD) analysis. The oscillation frequencies and vortex shedding periods from two inhibitors compare reasonably well with the experimental data and numerical result. A total of four different locations of the rear inhibitor has been numerically tested to characterize the coupling relation of vortex shedding frequency and acoustic mode. The major source of triggering pressure oscillation in the combustor is the resonance with the acoustic longitudinal half mode. It was observed that the counter-rotating vortices in the nozzle flow produce roll torque. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=large%20eddy%20simulation" title="large eddy simulation">large eddy simulation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=proper%20orthogonal%20decomposition" title=" proper orthogonal decomposition"> proper orthogonal decomposition</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=SRM%20instability" title=" SRM instability"> SRM instability</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=flow-acoustic%20coupling" title=" flow-acoustic coupling"> flow-acoustic coupling</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/1480/numerical-study-on-vortex-driven-pressure-oscillation-and-roll-torque-characteristics-in-a-srm-with-two-inhibitors" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/1480.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">565</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">75</span> Detection of Nanotoxic Material Using DNA Based QCM</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Juneseok%20You">Juneseok You</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chanho%20Park"> Chanho Park</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kuehwan%20Jang"> Kuehwan Jang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sungsoo%20Na"> Sungsoo Na</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Sensing of nanotoxic materials is strongly important, as their engineering applications are growing recently and results in that nanotoxic material can harmfully influence human health and environment. In current study we report the quartz crystal microbalance (QCM)-based, in situ and real-time sensing of nanotoxic-material by frequency shift. We propose the in situ detection of nanotoxic material of zinc oxice by using QCM functionalized with a taget-specific DNA. Since the mass of a target material is comparable to that of an atom, the mass change caused by target binding to DNA on the quartz electrode is so small that it is practically difficult to detect the ions at low concentrations. In our study, we have demonstrated the in-situ and fast detection of zinc oxide using the quartz crystal microbalance (QCM). The detection was derived from the DNA hybridization between the DNA on the quartz electrode. The results suggest that QCM-based detection opens a new avenue for the development of a practical water-testing sensor. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=nanotoxic%20material" title="nanotoxic material">nanotoxic material</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=qcm" title=" qcm"> qcm</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=frequency" title=" frequency"> frequency</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=in%20situ%20sensing" title=" in situ sensing"> in situ sensing</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/41494/detection-of-nanotoxic-material-using-dna-based-qcm" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/41494.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">422</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">74</span> Dynamic Test and Numerical Analysis of Twin Tunnel</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Changwon%20Kwak">Changwon Kwak</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Innjoon%20Park"> Innjoon Park</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Dongin%20Jang"> Dongin Jang</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Seismic load affects the behavior of underground structure like tunnel broadly. The proposed PLP estimation filter is developed under a weighted least square criterion using only the finite traffic measurements on the most recent window. A guideline for choosing appropriate window length is described since it can affect significantly the estimation performance. Using computer simulations, the proposed PLP estimation filter is shown to be superior to the Kalman filter for the temporarily uncertain system. Firstly, an estimation filter with a measurement delay is designed for the indoor positioning mechanism under a weighted least square criterion, which utilizes only finite measurements on the most recent window. The proposed estimation filtering based scheme gives the filtered estimates for position, velocity and acceleration of moving target in real-time, while removing undesired noisy effects and preserving desired moving positions. Secondly, the proposed scheme is shown to have good inherent properties such as unbiasedness, efficiency, time-invariance, deadbeat, and robustness due to the finite memory structure. Finally, computer simulations shows that the performance of the proposed estimation filtering based scheme can outperform to the existing infinite memory filtering based mechanism. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=indoor%20positioning%20system" title="indoor positioning system">indoor positioning system</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=wireless%20sensor%20networks" title=" wireless sensor networks"> wireless sensor networks</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=measurement%20delay" title=" measurement delay"> measurement delay</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/21330/an-indoor-positioning-system-in-wireless-sensor-networks-with-measurement-delay" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/21330.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">482</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">70</span> Fabrication and Properties of Al2O3/Si Quantum Well-Structured Silicon Solar Cells</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kwang-Ho%20Kim">Kwang-Ho Kim</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kwan-Hong%20Min"> Kwan-Hong Min</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Pyungwoo%20Jang"> Pyungwoo Jang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chisup%20Jung"> Chisup Jung</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kyu%20Seomoon"> Kyu Seomoon</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> By restricting the dimensions of silicon to less than Bohr radius of bulk crystalline silicon (∼5 nm), quantum confinement causes its effective bandgap to increase. Therefore, silicon quantum wells (QWs) using these quantum phenomena could be a good candidate to achieve high performance silicon solar cells. The Al2O3/Si QW structures were fabricated by using the successive deposition technique, as a quantum confinement device to increase the effective energy bandgap and passivation effect in Si surface for the 3rd generation solar cell applications. In Si/Al2O3 QWs, the thicknesses of Si layers and Al2O3 layers were varied between 1 to 5 nm, respectively. The roughness of deposited Si on Al2O3 was less than 4 Å in the thickness of 2 nm. By using the Al2O3/Si QW structures on Si surfaces, the lifetime measured by u-PCD technique increased as a result of passivated surface effects. The discussion about the other properties such as electrical and optical properties of the QWs structures as well as the fabricated solar cells will be presented in this paper. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Al2O3%2FSi%20quantum%20well" title="Al2O3/Si quantum well">Al2O3/Si quantum well</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=quantum%20confinement" title=" quantum confinement"> quantum confinement</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=solar%20cells" title=" solar cells"> solar cells</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=third%20generation" title=" third generation"> third generation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=successive%20deposition%20technique" title=" successive deposition technique"> successive deposition technique</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/6308/fabrication-and-properties-of-al2o3si-quantum-well-structured-silicon-solar-cells" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/6308.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">340</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">69</span> Appropriate Depth of Needle Insertion during Rhomboid Major Trigger Point Block</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Seongho%20Jang">Seongho Jang</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Objective: To investigate an appropriate depth of needle insertion during trigger point injection into the rhomboid major muscle. Methods: Sixty-two patients who visited our department with shoulder or upper back pain participated in this study. The distance between the skin and the rhomboid major muscle (SM) and the distance between the skin and rib (SB) were measured using ultrasonography. The subjects were divided into 3 groups according to BMI: BMI less than 23 kg/m2 (underweight or normal group); 23 kg/m2 or more to less than 25 kg/m2 (overweight group); and 25 kg/m2 or more (obese group). The mean ±standard deviation (SD) of SM and SB of each group were calculated. A range between mean+1 SD of SM and the mean-1 SD of SB was defined as a safe margin. Results: The underweight or normal group’s SM, SB, and the safe margin were 1.2±0.2, 2.1±0.4, and 1.4 to 1.7 cm, respectively. The overweight group’s SM and SB were 1.4±0.2 and 2.4±0.9 cm, respectively. The safe margin could not be calculated for this group. The obese group’s SM, SB, and the safe margin were 1.8±0.3, 2.7±0.5, and 2.1 to 2.2 cm, respectively. Conclusion: This study will help us to set the standard depth of safe needle insertion into the rhomboid major muscle in an effective manner without causing any complications. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=pneumothorax" title="pneumothorax">pneumothorax</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=rhomboid%20major%20muscle" title=" rhomboid major muscle"> rhomboid major muscle</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=trigger%20point%20injection" title=" trigger point injection"> trigger point injection</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ultrasound" title=" ultrasound "> ultrasound </a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/37418/appropriate-depth-of-needle-insertion-during-rhomboid-major-trigger-point-block" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/37418.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">290</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">68</span> Anonymous Editing Prevention Technique Using Gradient Method for High-Quality Video</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jiwon%20Lee">Jiwon Lee</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chanho%20Jung"> Chanho Jung</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Si-Hwan%20Jang"> Si-Hwan Jang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kyung-Ill%20Kim"> Kyung-Ill Kim</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sanghyun%20Joo"> Sanghyun Joo</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Wook-Ho%20Son"> Wook-Ho Son</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Since the advances in digital imaging technologies have led to development of high quality digital devices, there are a lot of illegal copies of copyrighted video content on the internet. To this end, the whole scale crane model is divided into two parts: the stationary framework and the moving substructure. In such a case, the dynamic responses of a scale crane model can be predicted from the forced vibration responses of the stationary framework due to actions of the four time-dependent moving point forces induced by the moving substructure. Since the magnitudes and positions of the moving point forces are dependent on the relative positions between the trolley, moving substructure and the stationary framework, it can be found from the numerical results that the time histories for the moving speeds of the moving substructure and the trolley are the key factors affecting the dynamic responses of the scale crane model. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=moving%20load" title="moving load">moving load</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=moving%20substructure" title=" moving substructure"> moving substructure</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dynamic%20responses" title=" dynamic responses"> dynamic responses</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=forced%20vibration%20responses" title=" forced vibration responses"> forced vibration responses</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/37626/numerical-simulation-of-a-three-dimensional-framework-under-the-action-of-two-dimensional-moving-loads" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/37626.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">352</span> </span> </div> </div> <ul class="pagination"> <li class="page-item disabled"><span class="page-link">&lsaquo;</span></li> <li class="page-item active"><span class="page-link">1</span></li> <li class="page-item"><a class="page-link" href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kuewhan%20Jang&amp;page=2">2</a></li> <li class="page-item"><a class="page-link" href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kuewhan%20Jang&amp;page=3">3</a></li> <li class="page-item"><a class="page-link" href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kuewhan%20Jang&amp;page=4">4</a></li> <li class="page-item"><a class="page-link" href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kuewhan%20Jang&amp;page=2" rel="next">&rsaquo;</a></li> </ul> </div> </main> <footer> <div id="infolinks" class="pt-3 pb-2"> <div class="container"> <div style="background-color:#f5f5f5;" class="p-3"> <div class="row"> <div class="col-md-2"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> About <li><a href="https://waset.org/page/support">About Us</a></li> <li><a href="https://waset.org/page/support#legal-information">Legal</a></li> <li><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://publications.waset.org/static/files/WASET-16th-foundational-anniversary.pdf">WASET celebrates its 16th foundational anniversary</a></li> </ul> </div> <div class="col-md-2"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> Account <li><a href="https://waset.org/profile">My Account</a></li> </ul> </div> <div class="col-md-2"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> Explore <li><a href="https://waset.org/disciplines">Disciplines</a></li> <li><a href="https://waset.org/conferences">Conferences</a></li> <li><a href="https://waset.org/conference-programs">Conference Program</a></li> <li><a href="https://waset.org/committees">Committees</a></li> <li><a href="https://publications.waset.org">Publications</a></li> </ul> </div> <div class="col-md-2"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> Research <li><a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts">Abstracts</a></li> <li><a href="https://publications.waset.org">Periodicals</a></li> <li><a href="https://publications.waset.org/archive">Archive</a></li> </ul> </div> <div class="col-md-2"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> Open Science <li><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://publications.waset.org/static/files/Open-Science-Philosophy.pdf">Open Science Philosophy</a></li> <li><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://publications.waset.org/static/files/Open-Science-Award.pdf">Open Science Award</a></li> <li><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://publications.waset.org/static/files/Open-Society-Open-Science-and-Open-Innovation.pdf">Open Innovation</a></li> <li><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://publications.waset.org/static/files/Postdoctoral-Fellowship-Award.pdf">Postdoctoral Fellowship Award</a></li> <li><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://publications.waset.org/static/files/Scholarly-Research-Review.pdf">Scholarly Research Review</a></li> </ul> </div> <div class="col-md-2"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> Support <li><a href="https://waset.org/page/support">Support</a></li> <li><a href="https://waset.org/profile/messages/create">Contact Us</a></li> <li><a href="https://waset.org/profile/messages/create">Report Abuse</a></li> </ul> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="container text-center"> <hr style="margin-top:0;margin-bottom:.3rem;"> <a href="https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/" target="_blank" class="text-muted small">Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License</a> <div id="copy" class="mt-2">&copy;
