p-4" id="rightPage"> <h1>General Secretariat</h1> <h2>The Secretariat is the point of contact for all IOSCO members, committees and task forces, and is responsible for the day-to-day functioning of IOSCO.</h2> <p>The Secretariat's work is managed and coordinated by the Secretary General and the Deputy Secretary General, who also perform duties of high level representation, with institutions such as the Financial Stability Board (FSB), the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) and the Committee on Payments and Market Infrastructures (CPMI). They also provide support to members and ensure the smooth and effective functioning of the Board, the Growth and Emerging Markets Committee, the Affiliate Members Consultative Committee, the regional and policy committees and the task forces. The Secretary General and his deputy seek to ensure transparency, inclusivity and accountability throughout the organization. Rodrigo chaired several policy committees within ESMA (Investor Protection, Market Integrity and Markets) and IOSCO (Sustainable Finance Tark Force).</p><p class='px-2 mx-1'>Previously, he developed a career in financial markets regulation and supervision, starting at CNMV in 2005 as Head of International and then Secondary Markets, joining the then newly created ESMA as its first Head of Markets (2011 to 2017) and then back at CNMV as Director General for Markets until 2020. He specialized in post-trading, market abuse supervision, corporate reporting, market structure and corporate governance.</p><p class='px-2 mx-1'>After graduating in Economics in Madrid, he spent the first eleven years of his career (1993-2004) in the private sector as a financial consultant at a leading Spanish consulting company (AFI). Tajinder was a member of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and held various positions in the Indian Government including in the Ministry of Finance. She assists on matters related to the IOSCO MMoU and EMMoU, including membership applications.</p><p>Alison joined the IOSCO Secretariat in September 2024, on secondment from the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), where she was a senior lawyer working on international investigations and enforcement cooperation. Alison was the aide to the UK FCA Chair of the MMoU Monitoring Group as well as the Vice Chair of the Screening Group. The Markets Policy Team is responsible for supporting IOSCO’s Committee 2 on secondary markets, Committee 5 on investment management, and Committee 7 on derivatives. Prior to leading the Markets Policy Team, John supported IOSCO’s financial stability agenda, through the Financial Stability Engagement Group (FSEG) as well as IOSCO’s Committee on Emerging Risks (CER), which leads IOSCO’s forward looking risk identification, monitoring, and analysis work under the “Risk Outlook”.</p><p>Before joining IOSCO, John spent 10 years across the public and private sector. More recently at the Bank of England where he was a policy advisor in the Bank’s EU withdrawal unit focusing on contract continuity for derivatives and before that, he was a senior supervisor responsible for a portfolio of European banks in the UK. Before joining the Bank of England, John spent five years across New York and London where he was Vice President at CLS Group, a financial market infrastructure specialised in FX settlement.</p><p>John holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Champlain College in Vermont, USA and a Master’s Degree in Financial Regulation and Central Banking from Warwick Business School in the UK. During her time at the FCA, Marta focused on a variety of topics related to primary and secondary markets policy and supervision, including transparency, market abuse and market structure.</p><p>Marta holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Universidad de Vigo in Spain, and spent a year studying at the Université Paris Dauphine.
