they are mine.”<p> <A name="4"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/13-3.htm#aramaic"><b>3</b></a></span>And Moshe said to the people: “Remember this day in which you came out from Egypt from the house of bondage, because by a mighty hand LORD JEHOVAH brought you out from here, and leaven will not be eaten. <A name="5"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/13-4.htm#aramaic"><b>4</b></a></span>On this day you are going out in the month of Habib. <A name="6"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/13-5.htm#aramaic"><b>5</b></a></span>And it will be when LORD JEHOVAH will bring you to the land of the Canaanites and of Khethites, and of Amorites, and of Khivites, and of Yebusites, and of Perezites, as he swore to your fathers to give to you the land that flows milk and honey, do this service in this month. <A name="7"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/13-6.htm#aramaic"><b>6</b></a></span>Seven days you will eat unleavened bread and in the seventh day it is a feast to LORD JEHOVAH. <A name="8"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/13-7.htm#aramaic"><b>7</b></a></span>Unleavened bread you will eat for seven days and leaven will not appear among you in your entire border. <A name="9"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/13-8.htm#aramaic"><b>8</b></a></span>And you shall tell your children in that day: “Because my God did this for me when I came out from Egypt.” <A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/13-9.htm#aramaic"><b>9</b></a></span>And it will be a sign to you on your hand and a remembrance between your eyes, so that the law of LORD JEHOVAH will be in your mouth, because by a mighty hand LORD JEHOVAH brought you out from Egypt. <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/13-10.htm#aramaic"><b>10</b></a></span>And keep this commandment and this law for its time, from season to season.<p> <A name="12"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/13-11.htm#aramaic"><b>11</b></a></span>And when LORD JEHOVAH will bring you to the land of the Canaanites, as He swore to you and to your fathers, and will give it to you, <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/13-12.htm#aramaic"><b>12</b></a></span>You shall separate every firstborn opening the womb to LORD JEHOVAH, and every male opening the womb of oxen that you will have to LORD JEHOVAH. <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/13-13.htm#aramaic"><b>13</b></a></span>And every firstborn male that opens the womb of cattle you shall redeem by a lamb, and if you do not redeem it, you will kill it, and you will redeem every firstborn of a son of man of your children. <A name="15"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/13-14.htm#aramaic"><b>14</b></a></span>And when your son may ask you tomorrow and will say to you, “What is this?”, say to him, “With a mighty hand LORD JEHOVAH brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage: <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/13-15.htm#aramaic"><b>15</b></a></span>And when Pharaoh was hardened to our mission, LORD JEHOVAH killed all the firstborn ones that were in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of a son of man and unto the firstborn ones of cattle; because of this I sacrifice to LORD JEHOVAH every male opening the womb and every firstborn of the sons I shall redeem. <A name="17"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/13-16.htm#aramaic"><b>16</b></a></span>And it will be a sign to you on your hand and a remembrance between your eyes, because by a mighty hand LORD JEHOVAH brought you out from Egypt.<p> <A name="18"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/13-17.htm#aramaic"><b>17</b></a></span>And when Pharaoh sent the people God did not escort them in the way of the land of the Philistines because that was near, because God said, “Lest the people are afraid whenever they see war and they would return to Egypt: <A name="19"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/13-18.htm#aramaic"><b>18</b></a></span>And God led the people in the way of the wilderness of the Sea of Reeds, and they were armed; the house of Israel came up from the land of Egypt. <A name="20"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/13-19.htm#aramaic"><b>19</b></a></span>And Moshe took the bones of Yoseph with him because he made the house of Israel swear, and said, “God remembers to remember you.
