and they shall not take a wife driven away from her husband, for he is holy to his God. <A name="9"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/21-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>And he consecrated him, for he bringing the bread of thy God: holy shall he be to thee: for I Jehovah consecrating you am holy, <A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/21-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>And the daughter of a man a priest, if she shall be profaned to commit fornication, it is profaning her father: she shall be burnt in fire.<p> <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/21-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>And the great priest from his brethren which the anointing oil shall be poured upon his head, and he filled his hand to put on the garments, his head he shall not uncover, and his garments he shall not rend. <A name="12"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/21-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>And to an dead soul he shall not come, for his father, and for his mother, he shall not be defiled. <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/21-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>And from the holy place he shall not go forth, and he shall not profane the holy place of his God; for the consecration of the anointing oil of his God is upon him I Jehovah. <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/21-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>And he shall take a wife in her virginity. <A name="15"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/21-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>A widow, and the driven away, and profane, and an harlot, those he shall not take: but a virgin of his people shall he take a wife. <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/21-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>And he shall not profane his seed among his people; for I Jehovah consecrating him.<p> <A name="17"></a><p class="hdg">Restrictions against Those with Blemishes<p><span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/21-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>And Jehovah will speak to Moses, saying, <A name="18"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/21-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>Speak to Aaron saying, A man from thy seed according to their generations, to whom shall be in him a blemish, shall not come near to bring the bread of his God.<p> <A name="19"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/21-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>For every man to whom in him a blemish shall not come near: a man blind, or lame, or flat-nosed, or stretched out, <A name="20"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/21-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>Or a man to whom there shall be in him a broken foot or a broken hand, <A name="21"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/21-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>Or curved, or withered, or stained in his eye, or scurvy, or scabby, or a bruised testicle: <A name="22"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/21-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span>Any man to whom in him a blemish from the seed of Aaron the priest, shall not come near to bring the sacrifices of Jehovah: a blemish is in him, the bread of his God he shall not come near to bring. <A name="23"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/21-22.htm"><b>22</b></a></span>The bread of his God the holy of holies, and from the holies shall he eat. <A name="24"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/leviticus/21-23.htm"><b>23</b></a></span>But he shall not come in to the vail, and to the altar he shall not come near, for a blemish is in him;
