Roberto","volume":105,"journal":"International Journal of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering","pagesStart":1160,"pagesEnd":1166,"ISSN":"1307-6892","URL":"https:\/\/publications.waset.org\/pdf\/10002624","abstract":"The knitted fabric suffers a deformation in its\r\ndimensions due to stretching and tension factors, transverse and\r\nlongitudinal respectively, during the process in rectilinear knitting\r\nmachines so it performs a dry relaxation shrinkage procedure and\r\nthermal action of prefixed to obtain stable conditions in the knitting.\r\nThis paper presents a dry relaxation shrinkage prediction of Bordeaux\r\nfiber using a feed forward neural network and linear regression\r\nmodels. Six operational alternatives of shrinkage were predicted. A\r\ncomparison of the results was performed finding neural network\r\nmodels with higher levels of explanation of the variability and\r\nprediction. The presence of different reposes is included. The models\r\nwere obtained through a neural toolbox of Matlab and Minitab\r\nsoftware with real data in a knitting company of Southern\r\nGuanajuato.
