This provides a list of the records returned by your search, gives a brief view of each record, and supplies a list of libraries which hold copies at the right of each brief record. Where there are many libraries that have a copy of a document only the first 7 are shown, use the option at the end of the library list to see the rest of the holding libraries eg. '<i class="fas fa-chevron-down"></i> Show 14 more...'. You can then close the list using the option to eg. '<i class="fas fa-chevron-up"></i> Show 14 fewer...'.</p> <p>You can see how many records have been returned by your search in the breadcrumb above the search box, and in the text at the top of the results list itself. By default, Discover displays 25 records per page. Scroll through the pages in your results set using the navigation arrows at the top and bottom of the list.</p> <p>For a more concise view of the records you can select the <i class="fas fa-bars"></i> icon to the left of the number of records found. If you choose this view it will be remembered the next time you do a search. To revert to the fuller result view select the <i class="fas fa-bars"></i> icon again.</p> <p>You can sort your results using the dropdown menu at the top of the results list. Choose an option and then use the 'Sort' button to update the display.</p> <p>The coloured rectangular label at the bottom left of each brief record indicates the document type and may appear alongside other information about the document: <div style="margin-left:30px;"> <p>Open Access electronic resources are indicated using the <img src="/assets/images/oa-logo.svg" alt="OA" title="Open Access" style="height:1.75rem;margin:0.0rem;vertical-align:text-bottom;"> Open Access lock icon. This means the record should include a link to a freely available copy of the document online. View the full record details to see links to online copies. Some links will take you via a university web site and require a login, so look for a link direct to the document.</p> <p>The <abbr title="UK Research Reserve" style="background: gray; color: white; padding: 0.1rem; margin-left: 0.5rem">UKRR</abbr> icon indicates materials that are being retained by a library as part of the <a href="https://www.bl.uk/ukrr">UK Research Reserve</a> which aims to ensure the preservation of the UK printed journals, forming a distributed collection held across many UK libraries.</p> </div> <p>The document type is shown by both the text and the label's colour. The colour coding is as follows:</p> <div style="margin-left:30px;"> <p><font style="color:#600057"><strong>Purple</strong></font> - books and theses</p> <p><font style="color:#c2104a"><strong>Pink</strong></font> - journals and periodicals</p> <p><font style="color:#e22a2e"><strong>Red</strong></font> - music scores</p> <p><font style="color:#e85e13"><strong>Orange</strong></font> - images and visual materials</p> <p><font style="color:#2c3841"><strong>Teal</strong></font> - audio materials</p> <p><font style="color:#6ea838"><strong>Green</strong></font> - maps</p> </div> <p>The text and icon next to the document type label indicate the document format. Icons currently appear in this way for the formats printed resource and e-resource. An icon is included for each format that the library holds. Note: the variability of the data can sometimes make it challenging to correctly identify all the formats held by a library. The Holdings display should provide confirmation, but in some cases you may need to contact the library concerned directly.</p> <p>Click on a title in the results list to view the <a href="/support/search-help/viewing-records.html">full, consolidated record</a>.
