In this study, we propose the idea of evaluating the concentration of NV center by the slope of the UV-Vis spectrum. To establish this new method we synthesized diamonds with different NV center concentrations by the chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method. We then measured the zero-phonon line (ZPL) intensity of PL spectra at 637 nm and estimated the concentration of the NV centers as a baseline for comparison to our new UV-Vis method. The UV-Vis transmission spectra were then measured and transformed to relative absorption coefficient spectra. Slopes of the transformed UV-Vis spectra between 400 nm and 800 nm were calculated and compared with the ZPL intensities. The results show a strong positive correlation between the slopes of the absorption spectra and the ZPL intensities of PL spectra at 637 nm. Therefore, this paper demonstrates the feasibility of estimating the concentration of the NV centers from measuring the transmission UV-Vis spectrum.</p> </div> </div> <div class="art-list-item-tools small"> <a class="mr-2" href="https://doi.org/10.1088/1742-6596/2585/1/012001">https://doi.org/10.1088/1742-6596/2585/1/012001</a> </div> </div> </div> </div> <!--issue toc article element end--> <!--issue toc article element start--> <div class="art-list-item reveal-container reveal-closed"> <div class="art-list-item-body"> <div class="indexer">012002</div> <div class="eyebrow"> <!-- Start Collection Labels --> <span class="offscreen-hidden">The following article is </span> <span class="red-text wd-jnl-art-collection-label">Open access</span> <!-- End Collection Labels --> </div> <div class="art-list-item-title-wrapper"> <a href="/article/10.1088/1742-6596/2585/1/012002" class="art-list-item-title"> Hydrodynamic pressure and effective mixing length in vegetated free-flow region </a> </div> <p class="small art-list-item-meta"><span itemtype="http://schema.org/Person" itemprop="author" class="nowrap"><span itemprop="name">Yicun Xie</span></span>, <span itemtype="http://schema.org/Person" itemprop="author" class="nowrap"><span itemprop="name">Jing Yan</span></span>, <span itemtype="http://schema.org/Person" itemprop="author" class="nowrap"><span itemprop="name">Haitong Zhang</span></span> and <span itemtype="http://schema.org/Person" itemprop="author" class="nowrap"><span itemprop="name">Hanqing Zhao</span></span></p> <!-- Start Focus issue title --> <!-- End focus issue title --> <div class="art-list-item-tools small"> <button type="button" class="reveal-trigger mr-2 nowrap"> <svg aria-hidden="true" class="fa-icon fa-icon--left fa-icon--flip" role="img" focusable="false" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" viewBox="0 0 320 512"><!--caret-down--><!--!Font Awesome Free 6.5.1 by @fontawesome - https://fontawesome.com License - https://fontawesome.com/license/free Copyright 2024 Fonticons, Inc.--><path d="M137.4 374.6c12.5 12.5 32.8 12.5 45.3 0l128-128c9.2-9.2 11.9-22.9 6.9-34.9s-16.6-19.8-29.6-19.8L32 192c-12.9 0-24.6 7.8-29.6 19.8s-2.2 25.7 6.9 34.9l128 128z"/></svg><span class="reveal-trigger-label" data-reveal-label-alt="Close abstract" data-reveal-text="Open abstract" data-link-purpose-append="Hydrodynamic pressure and effective mixing length in vegetated free-flow region" data-link-purpose-append-open="Hydrodynamic pressure and effective mixing length in vegetated free-flow region">Open abstract</span> </button> <a href="/article/10.1088/1742-6596/2585/1/012002/meta" class="mr-2 nowrap"> <span class="icon-article"></span>View article<span class="offscreen-hidden">,&nbsp;Hydrodynamic pressure and effective mixing length in vegetated free-flow region</span> </a> <a href="/article/10.1088/1742-6596/2585/1/012002/pdf" class="mr-2 nowrap"> <span class="icon-file-pdf"></span>PDF<span class="offscreen-hidden">,&nbsp;Hydrodynamic pressure and effective mixing length in vegetated free-flow region</span> </a> </div> <div class="reveal-content"> <div class="article-text view-text-small"> <div class="article-text wd-jnl-art-abstract cf" itemprop="description"> <p>Submerged vegetation acts as large-scale roughness element that changes flow structure and promotes flow subdivision, thereby affecting scalar transport and energy transfer in the river. This article explores vertical distributions of both the hydrodynamic pressure <i>P</i>D and effective mixing length <i>L</i> in vegetated free- flow region through flume experiments. Firstly, formulas have been proposed in the present study to calculate the <i>P</i>D and <i>L</i> values by some theoretical analyses. Then, we discuss the <i>P</i>D and <i>L</i> profiles under different vegetation density <i>λ</i>, submergence degree <i>H</i>/<i>h</i>v and mean bulk velocity <i>U</i>m conditions. The <i>P</i>D value is positive and attains its vertical maximum around the middle position of this region, indicating that shear turbulence promotes the upwards release of the hydro pressure. The vertical variation coefficient for <i>P</i>D is nearly 1.15 and independent of <i>λ</i> and <i>U</i>m in this study. The dimensionless <i>L</i> value varies little in the lower part of this region and increases linearly upwards in the upper part, reflecting vertical variation of shear turbulence movement. Since the vegetation density <i>λ</i> and submergence <i>H</i>/<i>h</i>v control turbulence coherent motion, the <i>P</i>D and <i>L</i>/(<i>h</i>o - <i>h</i>v) values change monotonically with them in this study. The high-velocity flow accelerates turbulence waves and promotes an increase in <i>P</i>D.</p> </div> </div> <div class="art-list-item-tools small"> <a class="mr-2" href="https://doi.org/10.1088/1742-6596/2585/1/012002">https://doi.org/10.1088/1742-6596/2585/1/012002</a> </div> </div> </div> </div> <!--issue toc article element end--> <!--issue toc article element start--> <div class="art-list-item reveal-container reveal-closed"> <div class="art-list-item-body"> <div class="indexer">012003</div> <div class="eyebrow"> <!-- Start Collection Labels --> <span class="offscreen-hidden">The following article is </span> <span class="red-text wd-jnl-art-collection-label">Open access</span> <!-- End Collection Labels --> </div> <div class="art-list-item-title-wrapper"> <a href="/article/10.1088/1742-6596/2585/1/012003" class="art-list-item-title"> Structural response characteristics of TMA during water-entry procedure </a> </div> <p class="small art-list-item-meta"><span itemtype="http://schema.org/Person" itemprop="author" class="nowrap"><span itemprop="name">Dong Hao</span></span> and <span itemtype="http://schema.org/Person" itemprop="author" class="nowrap"><span itemprop="name">Jing Yu</span></span></p> <!-- Start Focus issue title --> <!-- End focus issue title --> <div class="art-list-item-tools small"> <button type="button" class="reveal-trigger mr-2 nowrap"> <svg aria-hidden="true" class="fa-icon fa-icon--left fa-icon--flip" role="img" focusable="false" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" viewBox="0 0 320 512"><!--caret-down--><!--!Font Awesome Free 6.5.1 by @fontawesome - https://fontawesome.com License - https://fontawesome.com/license/free Copyright 2024 Fonticons, Inc.--><path d="M137.4 374.6c12.5 12.5 32.8 12.5 45.3 0l128-128c9.2-9.2 11.9-22.9 6.9-34.9s-16.6-19.8-29.6-19.8L32 192c-12.9 0-24.6 7.8-29.6 19.8s-2.2 25.7 6.9 34.9l128 128z"/></svg><span class="reveal-trigger-label" data-reveal-label-alt="Close abstract" data-reveal-text="Open abstract" data-link-purpose-append="Structural response characteristics of TMA during water-entry procedure" data-link-purpose-append-open="Structural response characteristics of TMA during water-entry procedure">Open abstract</span> </button> <a href="/article/10.1088/1742-6596/2585/1/012003/meta" class="mr-2 nowrap"> <span class="icon-article"></span>View article<span class="offscreen-hidden">,&nbsp;Structural response characteristics of TMA during water-entry procedure</span> </a> <a href="/article/10.1088/1742-6596/2585/1/012003/pdf" class="mr-2 nowrap"> <span class="icon-file-pdf"></span>PDF<span class="offscreen-hidden">,&nbsp;Structural response characteristics of TMA during water-entry procedure</span> </a> </div> <div class="reveal-content"> <div class="article-text view-text-small"> <div class="article-text wd-jnl-art-abstract cf" itemprop="description"> <p>This work presents a comprehensive numerical investigation of the structural responses of the Trans-Medium Aircrafts (TMA) during a water-entry event and the max mises-stress, the acceleration, and the water-entry deepness are analyzed and discussed. Considering the elastic effect of the TMA structure, the current research is of great importance to the TMA's structural design scheme.</p> </div> </div> <div class="art-list-item-tools small"> <a class="mr-2" href="https://doi.org/10.1088/1742-6596/2585/1/012003">https://doi.org/10.1088/1742-6596/2585/1/012003</a> </div> </div> </div> </div> <!--issue toc article element end--> <!--issue toc article element start--> <div class="art-list-item reveal-container reveal-closed"> <div class="art-list-item-body"> <div class="indexer">012004</div> <div class="eyebrow"> <!-- Start Collection Labels --> <span class="offscreen-hidden">The following article is </span> <span class="red-text wd-jnl-art-collection-label">Open access</span> <!-- End Collection Labels --> </div> <div class="art-list-item-title-wrapper"> <a href="/article/10.1088/1742-6596/2585/1/012004" class="art-list-item-title"> Kirchhoff equations with strong singularity in closed manifolds </a> </div> <p class="small art-list-item-meta"><span itemtype="http://schema.org/Person" itemprop="author" class="nowrap"><span itemprop="name">L L Zhan</span></span>, <span itemtype="http://schema.org/Person" itemprop="author" class="nowrap"><span itemprop="name">N B Chen</span></span> and <span itemtype="http://schema.org/Person" itemprop="author" class="nowrap"><span itemprop="name">Q H Liu</span></span></p> <!-- Start Focus issue title --> <!-- End focus issue title --> <div class="art-list-item-tools small"> <button type="button" class="reveal-trigger mr-2 nowrap"> <svg aria-hidden="true" class="fa-icon fa-icon--left fa-icon--flip" role="img" focusable="false" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" viewBox="0 0 320 512"><!--caret-down--><!--!Font Awesome Free 6.5.1 by @fontawesome - https://fontawesome.com License - https://fontawesome.com/license/free Copyright 2024 Fonticons, Inc.--><path d="M137.4 374.6c12.5 12.5 32.8 12.5 45.3 0l128-128c9.2-9.2 11.9-22.9 6.9-34.9s-16.6-19.8-29.6-19.8L32 192c-12.9 0-24.6 7.8-29.6 19.8s-2.2 25.7 6.9 34.9l128 128z"/></svg><span class="reveal-trigger-label" data-reveal-label-alt="Close abstract" data-reveal-text="Open abstract" data-link-purpose-append="Kirchhoff equations with strong singularity in closed manifolds" data-link-purpose-append-open="Kirchhoff equations with strong singularity in closed manifolds">Open abstract</span> </button> <a href="/article/10.1088/1742-6596/2585/1/012004/meta" class="mr-2 nowrap"> <span class="icon-article"></span>View article<span class="offscreen-hidden">,&nbsp;Kirchhoff equations with strong singularity in closed manifolds</span> </a> <a href="/article/10.1088/1742-6596/2585/1/012004/pdf" class="mr-2 nowrap"> <span class="icon-file-pdf"></span>PDF<span class="offscreen-hidden">,&nbsp;Kirchhoff equations with strong singularity in closed manifolds</span> </a> </div> <div class="reveal-content"> <div class="article-text view-text-small"> <div class="article-text wd-jnl-art-abstract cf" itemprop="description"> <p>In this paper, we study a class of Kirchhoff-type problems involving strong singular nonlinearities on compact Riemannian manifolds. Although previous direct numerical analyses have investigated the static pressure fluctuation, this study considers it as a quantity that could be more straightforwardly obtained from experimental measurements and numerical analyses. To address this issue, a large-eddy simulation is used in this study. The Smagorinsky model, the Vreman model and the implicit LES model are used in this study to model sub-grid scale fluctuations. The influence of isotropic spatial resolution reduction is set by changing the accuracy order for the discretisation of the viscous terms from second to eighth order, based on a three-dimensional cubic computational domain with spatially uniform computational grid width. The accuracy order for the convection terms is also set to second and fourth order in this study. When the discretisation accuracy order of the viscous terms is second order, there is a significant reduction in the accuracy of the implicit LES. The discretisation accuracy order of the viscous terms should be set to fourth order or higher, as seen in this study. In addition, unlike the turbulent kinetic energy, different discretisation accuracy orders for the viscous and convective terms also have a non-negligible effect on the static pressure fluctuation analysis.</p> </div> </div> <div class="art-list-item-tools small"> <a class="mr-2" href="https://doi.org/10.1088/1742-6596/2585/1/012006">https://doi.org/10.1088/1742-6596/2585/1/012006</a> </div> </div> </div> </div> <!--issue toc article element end--> <!--issue toc article element start--> <div class="art-list-item reveal-container reveal-closed"> <div class="art-list-item-body"> <div class="indexer">012007</div> <div class="eyebrow"> <!-- Start Collection Labels --> <span class="offscreen-hidden">The following article is </span> <span class="red-text wd-jnl-art-collection-label">Open access</span> <!-- End Collection Labels --> </div> <div class="art-list-item-title-wrapper"> <a href="/article/10.1088/1742-6596/2585/1/012007" class="art-list-item-title"> Characteristic analysis of earthquake sound signal based on wavelet transform </a> </div> <p class="small art-list-item-meta"><span itemtype="http://schema.org/Person" itemprop="author" class="nowrap"><span itemprop="name">Jiangchun Hu</span></span>, <span itemtype="http://schema.org/Person" itemprop="author" class="nowrap"><span itemprop="name">Zhipeng Liu</span></span>, <span itemtype="http://schema.org/Person" itemprop="author" class="nowrap"><span itemprop="name">Qin Wang</span></span>, <span itemtype="http://schema.org/Person" itemprop="author" class="nowrap"><span itemprop="name">Xuewei Huang</span></span>, <span itemtype="http://schema.org/Person" itemprop="author" class="nowrap"><span itemprop="name">Luyang An</span></span> and <span itemtype="http://schema.org/Person" itemprop="author" class="nowrap"><span itemprop="name">Chenxu Wang</span></span></p> <!-- Start Focus issue title --> <!-- End focus issue title --> <div class="art-list-item-tools small"> <button type="button" class="reveal-trigger mr-2 nowrap"> <svg aria-hidden="true" class="fa-icon fa-icon--left fa-icon--flip" role="img" focusable="false" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" viewBox="0 0 320 512"><!--caret-down--><!--!Font Awesome Free 6.5.1 by @fontawesome - https://fontawesome.com License - https://fontawesome.com/license/free Copyright 2024 Fonticons, Inc.--><path d="M137.4 374.6c12.5 12.5 32.8 12.5 45.3 0l128-128c9.2-9.2 11.9-22.9 6.9-34.9s-16.6-19.8-29.6-19.8L32 192c-12.9 0-24.6 7.8-29.6 19.8s-2.2 25.7 6.9 34.9l128 128z"/></svg><span class="reveal-trigger-label" data-reveal-label-alt="Close abstract" data-reveal-text="Open abstract" data-link-purpose-append="Characteristic analysis of earthquake sound signal based on wavelet transform" data-link-purpose-append-open="Characteristic analysis of earthquake sound signal based on wavelet transform">Open abstract</span> </button> <a href="/article/10.1088/1742-6596/2585/1/012007/meta" class="mr-2 nowrap"> <span class="icon-article"></span>View article<span class="offscreen-hidden">,&nbsp;Characteristic analysis of earthquake sound signal based on wavelet transform</span> </a> <a href="/article/10.1088/1742-6596/2585/1/012007/pdf" class="mr-2 nowrap"> <span class="icon-file-pdf"></span>PDF<span class="offscreen-hidden">,&nbsp;Characteristic analysis of earthquake sound signal based on wavelet transform</span> </a> </div> <div class="reveal-content"> <div class="article-text view-text-small"> <div class="article-text wd-jnl-art-abstract cf" itemprop="description"> <p>Earthquake is a kind of natural disaster with strong destructive power. It was concluded that: the infrasound wave signal with normal fluctuation changed regularly into time; Ten days before the earthquake, the peak mutation of infrasonic signal occurred, which increased exponentially compared with the mean peak mutation value of earthquake sound signal. The number of this abnormal phenomenon increased to the shortening of the impending earthquake time, especially five days before the earthquake; The intensity of the earthquake sound signal in the frequency band of the infrasonic wave is gradually decreasing from the increase in the signal frequency. In multi-stage sheet metal forming, the sheet may be subject to several cycles of loading and reverse loading, Bauschinger effect greatly influence the strain stress behaviour. A well designed material model can be used to accurately predict and compensate spring-back in forming process. A combined hardening model especially designed for multi-stage forming is proposed in this paper, and the iterated compensation method could be applied by using LS-DYNA to get an optimized result. An experimental testing facility was developed for calibration of this model with cyclic tension and compression strain stress curve. The compensation method is applied in the numerical simulation of a multi-stage manufacturing process of an A-pillar, the result demonstrates the feasibility of the combined hardening model.</p> </div> </div> <div class="art-list-item-tools small"> <a class="mr-2" href="https://doi.org/10.1088/1742-6596/2585/1/012008">https://doi.org/10.1088/1742-6596/2585/1/012008</a> </div> </div> </div> </div> <!--issue toc article element end--> <!--issue toc article element start--> <div class="art-list-item reveal-container reveal-closed"> <div class="art-list-item-body"> <div class="indexer">012009</div> <div class="eyebrow"> <!-- Start Collection Labels --> <span class="offscreen-hidden">The following article is </span> <span class="red-text wd-jnl-art-collection-label">Open access</span> <!-- End Collection Labels --> </div> <div class="art-list-item-title-wrapper"> <a href="/article/10.1088/1742-6596/2585/1/012009" class="art-list-item-title"> Rheology of nanofluids. It has been shown that about a quarter of nanofluids at not too low concentrations turn out to be pseudo- or viscoplastic. Their rheology is well described by power-law fluid or Herschel–Bulkley models. To study the mechanism of rheology change, the method of nonequilibrium molecular dynamics is used. It is established that the change in rheology has a threshold character. Critical values of the shear rates of rheology change and their dependence on the concentration of nanoparticles, their size and material are found. It is shown that the change in rheology is accompanied by a change in the structure of the studied fluids, which is illustrated by the corresponding radial distribution functions.</p> </div> </div> <div class="art-list-item-tools small"> <a class="mr-2" href="https://doi.org/10.1088/1742-6596/2585/1/012009">https://doi.org/10.1088/1742-6596/2585/1/012009</a> </div> </div> </div> </div> <!--issue toc article element end--> <!--issue toc article element start--> <div class="art-list-item reveal-container reveal-closed"> <div class="art-list-item-body"> <div class="indexer">012010</div> <div class="eyebrow"> <!-- Start Collection Labels --> <span class="offscreen-hidden">The following article is </span> <span class="red-text wd-jnl-art-collection-label">Open access</span> <!-- End Collection Labels --> </div> <div class="art-list-item-title-wrapper"> <a href="/article/10.1088/1742-6596/2585/1/012010" class="art-list-item-title"> Bifurcation &amp; stochastic analysis of chaotic finance system through entanglement function </a> </div> <p class="small art-list-item-meta"><span itemtype="http://schema.org/Person" itemprop="author" class="nowrap"><span itemprop="name">Kutorzi Edwin Yao</span></span> and <span itemtype="http://schema.org/Person" itemprop="author" class="nowrap"><span itemprop="name">Yufeng Shi</span></span></p> <!-- Start Focus issue title --> <!-- End focus issue title --> <div class="art-list-item-tools small"> <button type="button" class="reveal-trigger mr-2 nowrap"> <svg aria-hidden="true" class="fa-icon fa-icon--left fa-icon--flip" role="img" focusable="false" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" viewBox="0 0 320 512"><!--caret-down--><!--!Font Awesome Free 6.5.1 by @fontawesome - https://fontawesome.com License - https://fontawesome.com/license/free Copyright 2024 Fonticons, Inc.--><path d="M137.4 374.6c12.5 12.5 32.8 12.5 45.3 0l128-128c9.2-9.2 11.9-22.9 6.9-34.9s-16.6-19.8-29.6-19.8L32 192c-12.9 0-24.6 7.8-29.6 19.8s-2.2 25.7 6.9 34.9l128 128z"/></svg><span class="reveal-trigger-label" data-reveal-label-alt="Close abstract" data-reveal-text="Open abstract" data-link-purpose-append="Bifurcation &amp; stochastic analysis of chaotic finance system through entanglement function" data-link-purpose-append-open="Bifurcation &amp; stochastic analysis of chaotic finance system through entanglement function">Open abstract</span> </button> <a href="/article/10.1088/1742-6596/2585/1/012010/meta" class="mr-2 nowrap"> <span class="icon-article"></span>View article<span class="offscreen-hidden">,&nbsp;Bifurcation & stochastic analysis of chaotic finance system through entanglement function</span> </a> <a href="/article/10.1088/1742-6596/2585/1/012010/pdf" class="mr-2 nowrap"> <span class="icon-file-pdf"></span>PDF<span class="offscreen-hidden">,&nbsp;Bifurcation &amp; stochastic analysis of chaotic finance system through entanglement function</span> </a> </div> <div class="reveal-content"> <div class="article-text view-text-small"> <div class="article-text wd-jnl-art-abstract cf" itemprop="description"> <p>In this novel chaotic financial system, by varying the set-aside bifurcation parameter, the existence of the Hopf bifurcation is investigated. The results are used to discuss equilibrium stability and bifurcations in the modern chaotic system. Added to that, there is an element of chaos in mathematical systems with only one positive Lyapunov exponent. Furthermore, there are conditions in which bifurcation is required to achieve chaotic entanglement. The entanglement functions are designed to form an artificially chaotic system such that two or more stable linear subsystems evolve chaotically, no matter how far apart they are. The Gaussian noise is introduced to normalize or bridge the empirical distribution function of the random variables system and check the convergence. Beyond that, the stochastic model emphasizes the relationships between dissipation, phase space flow, and stability. The drag generated by the internal flow passage needs to be accurately measured and deducted from the full-model aerodynamic force, so as to obtain the aerodynamic characteristics of the aircraft to be tested. However, the existing internal drag measurement methods do not evaluate the uncertainty of the measurement results, which leads to the failure to evaluate the reliability of the flow-through model high-speed wind tunnel test results.
