In 2020 he was elected as the member of The Academia Europaea. In 2017 he received a degree of Prof. Honoris Causa from the Univ. of Tourism and Management Skopje, North Macedonia. During 2015 - 2017 he was professor of BioMarketing and Futures Research at the DCU Business School, Dublin City University, Ireland. This was the first Chair in the world on both domains - BioMarketing and Futures Research. Previously, and for 20 years, he had been appointed as the Foundation Chair of Marketing at the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow, Scotland. Previously, he got his first Chair in 1989 at the University of Wales College of Cardiff 1989-2006. Professor Moutinho completed his PhD at the University of Sheffield in 1982. He has been a Full Professor for 34 years and has held Visiting Professorship positions at numerous universities worldwide. He is the Founding Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Modelling in Management (JM2) and Co-editor-in-Chief of the Innovative Marketing Journal. His main areas of research interest encompass marketing, management and tourism futurecast, artificial intelligence, biometrics and neuroscience theory, evolutionary algorithms, human-computer interaction, the use of artificial neural networks in marketing, modelling processes of consumer behaviour, futures research. Prof. Moutinho has given keynote speeches, lectures, seminars, talks, etc. in 46 countries worldwide. Prof. Moutinho has 38 books published, over 159 articles published in refereed academic journals. Dr. Jose received his MD degree, magna cum laude, meritissimus, from the University of Santo Tomas, Philippines, and placed first in the Philippine National Board Examinations in Medicine and Surgery. He received his PhD degree in Physiology from Georgetown University, Washington, DC and defended his dissertation with distinction. He is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, American Sub-Board of Pediatric Nephrology, and American Society of Hypertension. He was President of the American Society of Pediatric Nephrology. Dr. Jose has chaired and continues to chair Study Sections and Emphasis Panels of the US National Institutes of Health and voluntary organizations, such as the American Heart Association and National Kidney Foundation. The primary goal of Dr. Jose’s research is to determine the genetic bases of human essential hypertension. Dr. Jose also showed that variations of GRK4 are very important in predisposing an individual to develop salt-sensitive high blood pressure. These studies have resulted in a patent in the US (# 6,660,474) and Japan (#4652566), patent-pending in Europe and Australia) and a provisional patent on “Compositions and Methods for Identifying and Diagnosing Salt Sensitivity of Blood Pressure” (US Provisional Patent Application #61,636,576).Variants of GRK4 may also predict the response to anti-hypertensive drugs, an example of pharmacogenomics. He obtained his Master’s Degree from Bihar University with special expertise in Cell Biology in 1976. Dr Sharma obtained his Doctor of Philosophy Degree (D.Phil.) in Neurosciences and was awarded his Ph.D in 1982 from Banaras Hindu University. After carrying out a series of Government of India-funded Research Projects on the Blood Brain Barrier (BBB) and brain dysfunction, Dr Sharma joined the lab of Neuropathology at Uppsala University, with Professor Yngve Olsson, to investigate passage of tracer transport across the BBB, caused by stress to the brain and spinal cord. In 1991, Dr Sharma was awarded the prestigious Alexander von Humboldt Foundation Fellowship of German Government for his work on hyperthermia-induced BBB dysfunction at the ultrastructural level in the laboratory of Professor Jorge Cervós-Navarro. Currently, his main research interest is Neuroprotection and Neuroregeneration in relation to the BBB in stress, trauma, and drugs of abuse in health and disease. During 2015 - 2017 he was professor of BioMarketing and Futures Research at the DCU Business School, Dublin City University, Ireland. This was the first Chair in the world on both domains - BioMarketing and Futures Research. Previously, and for 20 years, he had been appointed as the Foundation Chair of Marketing at the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow, Scotland. This avant-garde technique is designed to create a pathway for the efficient removal of toxic protein accumulations from the brain, addressing a fundamental mechanism behind Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative conditions. A breakthrough feature of Professor Xie's method is its surgical site—an extracranial area on the side of the neck—making the procedure significantly less invasive and enhancing its safety profile. She has published two books and had several articles written on her behalf (Surgical Neurology International/Your Health Magazine/Spruce Grove Examiner) as well as she has been interviewed on Global Edmonton and Breakfast Television Edmonton. In Canada alone, an average of 42 people a day learn that they have Epilepsy and over 50 million people worldwide suffer from the disorder. I can say that I Beat Epilepsy. It was 6:30 AM on December 03, 2002. I remember being wheeled down the hall at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada by the porter with the silence it felt like we were the only ones in the building. You could hear a pin drop. I had lived with epilepsy for almost 20 years of my life and that was about to change. Left selective Amygdalohippocampectomy is the surgery I was about to undergo and it is what cured me of my seizures. The left parahippocampal gyrus, left amygdale and left hippocampus were removed; structures within the left temporal lobe. I had 6 seizures 2 days before the surgery and I have not had one since. Since my surgery, I have accomplished some amazing tasks in my life. I have written two books, was asked to be a Canadian Advocate for Epilepsy in 2012 and have been a motivational speaker for over 8 years. Helping others is my passion, is my calling.
