Docs上の素材が著作権所有者の著作権を侵害している場合、デジタルミレニアム著作権法（DMCA）に基づき、侵害の申し立てを行うことができる。</p><p>侵害を主張する通知は、以下を含む書面によるコミュニケーションでなければならない：</p><ul><li>侵害されたと主張される排他的権利の所有者を代理する権限を有する者の物理的または電子的署名。</li><li>著作権が侵害されたと主張する著作物の特定。</li><li>侵害されていると主張される素材の特定、およびサービスプロバイダーがその素材を見つけるために合理的に十分な情報-ページのURL（ページの一部のみが侵害されていると主張される場合は、より具体的な参照を含む）。</li><li>住所、電話番号、利用可能な場合は、申立当事者に連絡できる電子メールアドレスなど、サービスプロバイダーが申立当事者に連絡することを可能にする合理的に十分な情報。</li><li>苦情を申し立てた当事者が、苦情を申し立てた方法での素材の使用が著作権所有者、その代理人、または法律によって許可されていないと誠実に確信している旨の声明。</li><li>通知に記載された情報が正確であり、偽証罪に問われることを覚悟の上で、申し立てを行った当事者が、侵害されたとされる排他的権利の所有者を代表して行動する権限を有している旨の声明。</li></ul><p>侵害を主張する通知は、<a href="mailto:copyright@w3.org">copyright@w3.org</a> 宛てに電子メールで送付することができる。</p><p>素材や活動が侵害されていることを故意に虚偽の説明をした場合、損害賠償責任を負う可能性がある。</p><h3
