The main aim of this study is to investigate the optimization conditions of the sardine scale deproteinization using response surface methodology (RSM) on a pilot scale. In order to look for the optimal conditions, a Box鈥揃ehnken-based design of experiment (DOE) method was carried out. The model predicted values of product coal ash content were in good agreement with the experiment values (R2 = 0.9813). Finally, model-based optimization was carried out to identify the operating parameters (reaction time=4h and the solid-liquid ratio= 1/10) and to obtain the lowest collagen content. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=pilot%20scale" title="pilot scale">pilot scale</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Plackett%20and%20Burman%20design" title=" Plackett and Burman design"> Plackett and Burman design</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fish%20waste" title=" fish waste"> fish waste</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=deproteinization" title=" deproteinization"> deproteinization</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/154258/pilot-scale-deproteinization-study-on-fish-scale-using-response-surface-methodology" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/154258.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">160</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">9018</span> A Conjugate Gradient Method for Large Scale Unconstrained Optimization</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohammed%20Belloufi">Mohammed Belloufi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rachid%20Benzine"> Rachid Benzine</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Badreddine%20Sellami"> Badreddine Sellami</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Conjugate gradient methods is useful for solving large scale optimization problems in scientific and engineering computation, characterized by the simplicity of their iteration and their low memory requirements. Because of the low memory requirement, attractive theoretical features, practical computational efficiency and nice convergence properties, nonlinear conjugate gradient methods have a special role for solving large scale unconstrained optimization problems. Large scale optimization problems are with important applications in practical and scientific world. However, nonlinear conjugate gradient methods have restricted information about the curvature of the objective function and they are likely less efficient and robust compared to some second order algorithms. To overcome these drawbacks, the new modified nonlinear conjugate gradient method is presented. The noticeable features of our work are that the new search direction possesses the sufficient descent property independent of any line search and it belongs to a trust region. Under mild assumptions and standard Wolfe line search technique, the global convergence property of the proposed algorithm is established. Furthermore, to test the practical computational performance of our new algorithm, numerical experiments are provided and implemented on the set of some large dimensional unconstrained problems. The numerical results show that the proposed algorithm is an efficient and robust compared with other similar algorithms. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=conjugate%20gradient%20method" title="conjugate gradient method">conjugate gradient method</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=global%20convergence" title=" global convergence"> global convergence</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=large%20scale%20optimization" title=" large scale optimization"> large scale optimization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sufficient%20descent%20property" title=" sufficient descent property"> sufficient descent property</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/102625/a-modified-nonlinear-conjugate-gradient-algorithm-for-large-scale-unconstrained-optimization-problems" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/102625.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">205</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">9015</span> Optimization Model for Identification of Assembly Alternatives of Large-Scale, Make-to-Order Products</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Henrik%20Prinzhorn">Henrik Prinzhorn</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Peter%20Nyhuis"> Peter Nyhuis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Johannes%20Wagner"> Johannes Wagner</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Peter%20Burggr%C3%A4f"> Peter Burggr盲f</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Torben%20Schmitz"> Torben Schmitz</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Christina%20Reuter"> Christina Reuter</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Assembling large-scale products, such as airplanes, locomotives, or wind turbines, involves frequent process interruptions induced by e.g. delayed material deliveries or missing availability of resources. This leads to a negative impact on the logistical performance of a producer of xxl-products. In industrial practice, in case of interruptions, the identification, evaluation and eventually the selection of an alternative order of assembly activities (‘assembly alternative’) leads to an enormous challenge, especially if an optimized logistical decision should be reached. Therefore, in this paper, an innovative, optimization model for the identification of assembly alternatives that addresses the given problem is presented. It describes make-to-order, large-scale product assembly processes as a resource constrained project scheduling (RCPS) problem which follows given restrictions in practice. For the evaluation of the assembly alternative, a cost-based definition of the logistical objectives (delivery reliability, inventory, make-span and workload) is presented. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=assembly%20scheduling" title="assembly scheduling">assembly scheduling</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=large-scale%20products" title=" large-scale products"> large-scale products</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=make-to-order" title=" make-to-order"> make-to-order</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=optimization" title=" optimization"> optimization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=rescheduling" title=" rescheduling"> rescheduling</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/40012/optimization-model-for-identification-of-assembly-alternatives-of-large-scale-make-to-order-products" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/40012.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">459</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">9014</span> Deproteinization of Moroccan Sardine (Sardina pilchardus) Scales: A Pilot-Scale Study</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=F.%20Bellali">F. The advancement from lab scale to pilot scale is a critical stage in the technological development. In this study, the optimal condition for the deproteinization which was validated at laboratory scale was employed in the pilot scale procedure. The deproteinization of fish scale was then demonstrated on a pilot scale (2Kg scales, 20l NaOH), resulting in protein content (0,2mg/ml) and hydroxyproline content (2,11mg/l). These results indicated that the pilot-scale showed similar performances to those of lab-scale one. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=deproteinization" title="deproteinization">deproteinization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=pilot%20scale" title=" pilot scale"> pilot scale</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=scale" title=" scale"> scale</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sardine%20pilchardus" title=" sardine pilchardus"> sardine pilchardus</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/17961/deproteinization-of-moroccan-sardine-sardina-pilchardus-scales-a-pilot-scale-study" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/17961.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">446</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">9013</span> Curve Fitting by Cubic Bezier Curves Using Migrating Birds Optimization Algorithm</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mitat%20Uysal">Mitat Uysal</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> A new met heuristic optimization algorithm called as Migrating Birds Optimization is used for curve fitting by rational cubic Bezier Curves. We also identify the distinctive features of next-generation planning algorithms - namely scalability, model-and-run features and learning capabilities - that will be fundamental to cope with the scale and complexity of logistics in the next decade. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=e-commerce" title="e-commerce">e-commerce</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hardware%20acceleration" title=" hardware acceleration"> hardware acceleration</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=logistics" title=" logistics"> logistics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=machine%20learning" title=" machine learning"> machine learning</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mixed%20integer%20programming" title=" mixed integer programming"> mixed integer programming</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=optimization" title=" optimization"> optimization</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/129028/the-role-of-optimization-and-machine-learning-in-e-commerce-logistics-in-2030" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/129028.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">251</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">9010</span> Parallel 2-Opt Local Search on GPU</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Wen-Bao%20Qiao">Wen-Bao Qiao</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jean-Charles%20Cr%C3%A9put"> Jean-Charles Cr茅put</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> To accelerate the solution for large scale traveling salesman problems (TSP), a parallel 2-opt local search algorithm with simple implementation based on Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) is presented and tested in this paper. The PCM impact on an energy efficiency of an enveloped room was resolved by validation of the Energy Plus numerical scheme and optimization of a smart material location in the core. The PCM location was optimized by a minimization method of a cooling energy demand. It has been shown that there is good agreement between the test and simulation results. To reduce scrap rates in manufacturing, process parameters can be optimized using machine learning. Thus far, research mainly focused on optimizing specific processes using traditional algorithms. To develop a framework that enables real-time optimization based on a predictive model for an arbitrary production process, this study explores the application of reinforcement learning (RL) in this field. Based on a thorough review of literature about RL and process parameter optimization, a model based on maximum a posteriori policy optimization that can handle both numerical and categorical parameters is proposed. A case study compares the model to state鈥搊f鈥搕he鈥揳rt traditional algorithms and shows that RL can find optima of similar quality while requiring significantly less time. These results are confirmed in a large-scale validation study on data sets from both production and other fields. The information entropy itself is an uncertain measure. It is used to control the range of whale searches in path selection. It can overcome the shortcomings of the basic whale optimization algorithm (WAO) and can improve the global convergence speed of the algorithm. Taking truss structure as the optimization research object, the mathematical model of truss structure optimization is established; the cross-sectional area of truss is taken as the design variable; the objective function is the weight of truss structure; and an improved whale optimization algorithm (SWAO) is used for optimization design, which provides a new idea and means for its application in large and complex engineering structure optimization design. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=information%20entropy" title="information entropy">information entropy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=structural%20optimization" title=" structural optimization"> structural optimization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=truss%20structure" title=" truss structure"> truss structure</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=whale%20algorithm" title=" whale algorithm"> whale algorithm</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/139986/improved-whale-algorithm-based-on-information-entropy-and-its-application-in-truss-structure-optimization-design" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/139986.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">249</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">9003</span> Improved Particle Swarm Optimization with Cellular Automata and Fuzzy Cellular Automata</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ramin%20Javadzadeh">Ramin Javadzadeh</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The particle swarm optimization are Meta heuristic optimization method, which are used for clustering and pattern recognition applications are abundantly. PSO was inspired by the natural behavior of birds and fish in migration and foraging for food. PSO is considered as a multidisciplinary optimization model that can be applied in various optimization problems. PSO’s ideas are simple and easy to understand but PSO is only applied in simple model problems. We think that in order to expand the applicability of PSO in complex problems, PSO should be described more explicitly in the form of a mathematical model. In this paper, we represent PSO in a mathematical model and apply in the multivariate data classification. First, PSOs general mathematical model (MPSO) is analyzed as a universal optimization model. Then, Model of Optimal Centroids (MOC) is proposed for the multivariate data classification. Experiments were conducted on some benchmark data sets to prove the effectiveness of MOC compared with several proposed schemes. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=analysis%20of%20optimization" title="analysis of optimization">analysis of optimization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=artificial%20intelligence%20based%20optimization" title=" artificial intelligence based optimization"> artificial intelligence based optimization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=optimization%20for%20learning%20and%20data%20analysis" title=" optimization for learning and data analysis"> optimization for learning and data analysis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=global%20optimization" title=" global optimization"> global optimization</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/126058/model-of-optimal-centroids-approach-for-multivariate-data-classification" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/126058.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">208</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8996</span> Comparative Study of Deep Reinforcement Learning Algorithm Against Evolutionary Algorithms for Finding the Optimal Values in a Simulated Environment Space</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Akshay%20Paranjape">Akshay Paranjape</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nils%20Plettenberg"> Nils Plettenberg</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Robert%20Schmitt"> Robert Schmitt</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Traditional optimization methods like evolutionary algorithms are widely used in production processes to find an optimal or near-optimal solution of control parameters based on the simulated environment space of a process. These algorithms are computationally intensive and therefore do not provide the opportunity for real-time optimization. This paper utilizes the Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) framework to find an optimal or near-optimal solution for control parameters. A model based on maximum a posteriori policy optimization (Hybrid-MPO) that can handle both numerical and categorical parameters is used as a benchmark for comparison. A comparative study shows that DRL can find optimal solutions of similar quality as compared to evolutionary algorithms while requiring significantly less time making them preferable for real-time optimization. The results are confirmed in a large-scale validation study on datasets from production and other fields. A trained XGBoost model is used as a surrogate for process simulation. Finally, multiple ways to improve the model are discussed. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=reinforcement%20learning" title="reinforcement learning">reinforcement learning</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=evolutionary%20algorithms" title=" evolutionary algorithms"> evolutionary algorithms</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=production%20process%20optimization" title=" production process optimization"> production process optimization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=real-time%20optimization" title=" real-time optimization"> real-time optimization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hybrid-MPO" title=" hybrid-MPO"> hybrid-MPO</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/159906/comparative-study-of-deep-reinforcement-learning-algorithm-against-evolutionary-algorithms-for-finding-the-optimal-values-in-a-simulated-environment-space" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/159906.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">112</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8995</span> Cuckoo Search (CS) Optimization Algorithm for Solving Constrained Optimization</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sait%20Ali%20Uymaz">Sait Ali Uymaz</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=G%C3%BClay%20Tezel"> G眉lay Tezel</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This paper presents the comparison results on the performance of the Cuckoo Search (CS) algorithm for constrained optimization problems. Even with the use of chemically defined media and feeds, a significant amount of time is devoted in identifying the apt operating parameters. In addition, the scale-up of these processes is often accompanied by loss of antibody titer and product quality, which further delays the commercialization of the drug product. In such a scenario, the investigation of this disparity of culture performance is done by further experimentation at a smaller scale that is representative of at-scale production bioreactors. These scale-down model developments are also time-intensive. In this study, a computation fluid dynamics-based multi-objective scaling approach has been illustrated to speed up the process transfer. For the implementation of this approach, a transient multiphase water-air system has been studied in Ansys CFX to visualize the air bubble distribution and volumetric mass transfer coefficient (kLa) profiles, followed by the design of experiment based parametric optimization approach to define the operational space. The proposed approach is completely in silico and requires minimum experimentation, thereby rendering a high throughput to the overall process development. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=bioprocess%20development" title="bioprocess development">bioprocess development</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=scale%20up" title=" scale up"> scale up</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=scale%20down" title=" scale down"> scale down</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=computation%20fluid%20dynamics" title=" computation fluid dynamics"> computation fluid dynamics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multi-objective" title=" multi-objective"> multi-objective</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ansys%20CFX" title=" Ansys CFX"> Ansys CFX</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=design%20of%20experiment" title=" design of experiment"> design of experiment</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/145374/towards-computational-fluid-dynamics-based-methodology-to-accelerate-bioprocess-scale-up-and-scale-down" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/145374.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">82</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8993</span> Fuzzy Optimization for Identifying Anticancer Targets in Genome-Scale Metabolic Models of Colon Cancer</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Feng-Sheng%20Wang">Feng-Sheng Wang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chao-Ting%20Cheng"> Chao-Ting Cheng</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Developing a drug from conception to launch is costly and time-consuming. Computer-aided methods can reduce research costs and accelerate the development process during the early drug discovery and development stages. This study developed a fuzzy multi-objective hierarchical optimization framework for identifying potential anticancer targets in a metabolic model. First, RNA-seq expression data of colorectal cancer samples and their healthy counterparts were used to reconstruct tissue-specific genome-scale metabolic models. The aim of the optimization framework was to identify anticancer targets that lead to cancer cell death and evaluate metabolic flux perturbations in normal cells that have been caused by cancer treatment. Four objectives were established in the optimization framework to evaluate the mortality of cancer cells for treatment and to minimize side effects causing toxicity-induced tumorigenesis on normal cells and smaller metabolic perturbations. Through fuzzy set theory, a multiobjective optimization problem was converted into a trilevel maximizing decision-making (MDM) problem. The applied nested hybrid differential evolution was applied to solve the trilevel MDM problem using two nutrient media to identify anticancer targets in the genome-scale metabolic model of colorectal cancer, respectively. Using Dulbecco鈥檚 Modified Eagle Medium (DMEM), the computational results reveal that the identified anticancer targets were mostly involved in cholesterol biosynthesis, pyrimidine and purine metabolisms, glycerophospholipid biosynthetic pathway and sphingolipid pathway. However, using Ham鈥檚 medium, the genes involved in cholesterol biosynthesis were unidentifiable. A comparison of the uptake reactions for the DMEM and Ham鈥檚 medium revealed that no cholesterol uptake reaction was included in DMEM. Two additional media, i.e., a cholesterol uptake reaction was included in DMEM and excluded in HAM, were respectively used to investigate the relationship of tumor cell growth with nutrient components and anticancer target genes. The genes involved in the cholesterol biosynthesis were also revealed to be determinable if a cholesterol uptake reaction was not induced when the cells were in the culture medium. However, the genes involved in cholesterol biosynthesis became unidentifiable if such a reaction was induced. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Cancer%20metabolism" title="Cancer metabolism">Cancer metabolism</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=genome-scale%20metabolic%20model" title=" genome-scale metabolic model"> genome-scale metabolic model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=constraint-based%20model" title=" constraint-based model"> constraint-based model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multilevel%20optimization" title=" multilevel optimization"> multilevel optimization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fuzzy%20optimization" title=" fuzzy optimization"> fuzzy optimization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hybrid%20differential%20evolution" title=" hybrid differential evolution"> hybrid differential evolution</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/167553/fuzzy-optimization-for-identifying-anticancer-targets-in-genome-scale-metabolic-models-of-colon-cancer" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/167553.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">80</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8992</span> Proxisch: An Optimization Approach of Large-Scale Unstable Proxy Servers Scheduling</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Xiaoming%20Jiang">Xiaoming Jiang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jinqiao%20Shi"> Jinqiao Shi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Qingfeng%20Tan"> Qingfeng Tan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Wentao%20Zhang"> Wentao Zhang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Xuebin%20Wang"> Xuebin Wang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Muqian%20Chen"> Muqian Chen</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Nowadays, big companies such as Google, Microsoft, which have adequate proxy servers, have perfectly implemented their web crawlers for a certain website in parallel. But due to lack of expensive proxy servers, it is still a puzzle for researchers to crawl large amounts of information from a single website in parallel. In this case, it is a good choice for researchers to use free public proxy servers which are crawled from the Internet. In order to improve efficiency of web crawler, the following two issues should be considered primarily: (1) Tasks may fail owing to the instability of free proxy servers; (2) A proxy server will be blocked if it visits a single website frequently. In this paper, we propose Proxisch, an optimization approach of large-scale unstable proxy servers scheduling, which allow anyone with extremely low cost to run a web crawler efficiently. Proxisch is designed to work efficiently by making maximum use of reliable proxy servers. To solve second problem, it establishes a frequency control mechanism which can ensure the visiting frequency of any chosen proxy server below the website’s limit. The results show that our approach performs better than the other scheduling algorithms. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=proxy%20server" title="proxy server">proxy server</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=priority%20queue" title=" priority queue"> priority queue</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=optimization%20algorithm" title=" optimization algorithm"> optimization algorithm</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=distributed%20web%20crawling" title=" distributed web crawling"> distributed web crawling</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/43957/proxisch-an-optimization-approach-of-large-scale-unstable-proxy-servers-scheduling" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/43957.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">211</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8991</span> Genetic Algorithm Optimization of a Small Scale Natural Gas Liquefaction Process</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=M.%20I.%20Abdelhamid">M. The available software packages for designing the thin film structure may not provide optimum designs. Normally, almost all current software programs obtain their final designs either from optimizing a starting guess or by technique, which may or may not involve a pseudorandom process, that give different answers every time, depending upon the initial conditions. With the increasing power of personal computers, functional methods in optimization and synthesis of optical multilayer systems have been developed such as DGL Optimization, Simulated Annealing, Genetic Algorithms, Needle Optimization, Inductive Optimization and Flip-Flop Optimization. Among these, DGL Optimization has proved its efficiency in optical thin film designs. The application of the DGL optimization technique to the design of optical coating is presented. A DGL optimization technique is provided, and its main features are discussed. Guidelines on the application of the DGL optimization technique to various types of design problems are given.
