(EIA)</strong></a> The EIA is a statistical agency within the U.S. Department of Energy, providing data, forecasts, and analyses.</p> <p><strong><a href="http://www.eere.energy.gov/">U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE)</a> </strong>The Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy works to develop energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies that strengthen U.S. energy security, environmental quality, and economic vitality.</p> <p><a href="http://energy.gov/eere/bioenergy/bioenergy-technologies-office"><strong>U.S. Department of Energy's Bioenergy Technologies Office</strong></a> The Bioenergy Technologies Program is run by the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy and works to develop a domestic biofuels, biopower, and biobased product industry.</p> <p><a href="https://www.energy.gov/eere/vehicles/vehicle-technologies-office"><strong>U.S. Department of Energy's Vehicle Technologies Office</strong></a> The Vehicle Technologies Program is run by the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy and works to develop more energy efficient and environmentally friendly highway transportation technologies that will enable America to use less petroleum.</p> <p><strong><a href="https://www.energy.gov/eere/fuelcells/hydrogen-and-fuel-cell-technologies-office">U.S. Department of Energy's Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies Office</a> </strong>The Fuels Cells Technology Program is run by the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy and works to conduct comprehensive efforts to overcome the technological, economic, and institutional barriers to the widespread commercialization of hydrogen and fuel cells.</p> <p><strong><a href="http://www.epa.gov">U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)</a> </strong>The EPA works to protect human health and the environment.  </p> <p><a href="https://www.fs.usda.gov/"><strong>U.S. Forest Service</strong></a> The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Forest Service manages public lands in national forests and grasslands.</p> <p><a href="http://www.ars.usda.gov/main/main.htm"><strong>USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS)</strong></a> The ARS is the U.S. Department of Agriculture's principal scientific research agency.</p> <p><a href="http://www.ers.usda.gov/"><strong>USDA Economic Research Service (ERS)</strong></a> The U.S. Department of Agriculture's ERS provides economic research and information to inform public and private decision making on economic and policy issues related to agriculture, food, natural resources, and rural America.</p> <p><a href="http://www.nrcs.usda.gov/"><strong>USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS)</strong></a> The U.S. Department of Agriculture's NRCS is the primary federal agency that works with private landowners to help them conserve, maintain and improve their natural resources.</p> <p><a href="https://www.rd.usda.gov/"><strong>USDA Rural Development</strong></a> USDA Rural Development provides financial programs and technical assistance to help improve rural communities.</p> <p><a href="http://www.ferc.gov/"><strong>Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC)</strong></a> FERC regulates the interstate transmission of natural gas, oil, and electricity, as well as natural gas and hydropower projects.</p> <p><a href="http://www.noaa.gov/"><strong>National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)</strong></a> NOAA is a scientific agency that seeks to understand and predict changes in Earth’s environment, and conserve and manage coastal and marine resources to meet our Nation’s economic, social, and environmental needs.</p> <p><a href="http://www.usgs.gov/"><strong>United States Geological Survey (USGS)</strong></a> USGS is a science organization that focuses on biology, geography, geology, geospatial information, and water.</p> <p><a href="http://www.niehs.nih.gov/"><strong>National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS)</strong></a> NIEHS’s mission is to reduce the burden of human illness and disability by understanding how the environment influences the development and progression of human disease.<br /> <a name="3" title="3"></a></p> <h3>International Organizations</h3> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://www.ipcc.ch/"><strong>Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)</strong></a> The IPCC is a scientific intergovernmental body set up by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) to provide objective information on climate change to policymakers.</p> <p><a href="http://unfccc.int/2860.php"><strong>United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)</strong></a> The UNFCCC is an international treaty to consider climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies. href="https://www.aee.net/"><strong>Advanced Energy United</strong></a> Advanced Energy United is a national association of businesses that are making the energy we use secure, clean, and affordable.</p> <p><a href="http://ase.org/"><strong>Alliance to Save Energy (ASE)</strong></a> ASE is a non-profit coalition of business, government, environmental and consumer leaders that promotes energy efficiency to achieve a healthier economy, a cleaner environment, and greater energy security.</p> <p><a href="https://cleanpower.org/"><strong>American Clean Power Association (ACP)</strong></a> The American Clean Power Association works to champion policies that will transform the U.S. power grid to a low-cost, reliable and renewable power system.</p> <p><a href="http://www.aceee.org/"><strong>American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE)</strong></a> ACEEE carries out policy analyses, advises policymakers, encourages media to cover energy efficiency policy and technology issues, and educates businesses and consumers on energy efficiency.</p> <p><a href="http://www.acore.org"><strong>American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE)</strong></a> ACORE is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with members from renewable energy industries and their trade associations and is dedicated to moving renewable energy into the mainstream of America’s economy.</p> <p><a href="http://www.planning.org/"><strong>American Planning Association (APA)</strong></a> APA is a nonprofit public interest and research organization committed to urban, suburban, regional, and rural planning.</p> <p><a href="http://www.apta.com/"><strong>American Public Transportation Association (APTA)</strong></a> APTA is an international organization serving the public interest by providing safe, efficient and economical transit services and by improving those services to meet national energy, environmental, and financial concerns.</p> <p><a href="http://www.ashrae.org/"><strong>American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE)</strong></a> ASHRAE is an international organization committed to advancing heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration, and promotes a sustainable world through research, standards writing, publishing and continuing education.</p> <p><a href="http://www.ases.org/"><strong>American Solar Energy Society (ASES)</strong></a> ASES is a nonprofit composed of solar professionals and advocates who advance education, research and policy on
