href="/parallel/proverbs/1-5.htm#aramaic"><b>5</b></a></span>A wise man will listen and will add to his wisdom and the intelligent will gain leadership<p> <A name="7"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/1-6.htm#aramaic"><b>6</b></a></span>To perceive proverbs and parables and the words of the wise and their riddles.<p> <A name="8"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/1-7.htm#aramaic"><b>7</b></a></span>The chief wisdom is the awe of LORD JEHOVAH, but the evil despise knowledge and instruction.<p> <A name="9"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/1-8.htm#aramaic"><b>8</b></a></span>Hear, my son, the law of your father and do not forget the law of your mother.<p> <A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/1-9.htm#aramaic"><b>9</b></a></span>For they are beauty to your head and a necklace for your neck.<p> <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/1-10.htm#aramaic"><b>10</b></a></span>My son if sinners entice you, do not consent,<p> <A name="12"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/1-11.htm#aramaic"><b>11</b></a></span>And if they say to you "Come with us, let us lay wait for blood and hide for the innocent in depravity<p> <A name="13"></a><span href="/parallel/proverbs/1-15.htm#aramaic"><b>15</b></a></span>My son, do not go in the way with them, but withhold your foot from their paths,<p> <A name="17"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/1-16.htm#aramaic"><b>16</b></a></span>Because their feet run to evil and hasten to shed innocent blood.<p> <A name="18"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/1-17.htm#aramaic"><b>17</b></a></span>It is by deceit that nets are spread for a bird.<p> <A name="19"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/1-19.htm#aramaic"><b>19</b></a></span>So are the ways of all who do evil and take the lives of their Masters.<p> <A name="21"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/1-20.htm#aramaic"><b>20</b></a></span>Wisdom is praised in the market and raises her voice in the street.<p> <A name="22"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/1-21.htm#aramaic"><b>21</b></a></span>She preaches in the chief streets and she speaks her words in the entrances of the city gates.<p> <A name="23"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/1-22.htm#aramaic"><b>22</b></a></span>How long, children, will you love childishness, and you mockers desire mockery, and you fools hate knowledge?<p> <A name="24"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/1-23.htm#aramaic"><b>23</b></a></span>If you turn to my reproof, I shall bring forth my Spirit to you, and I shall show you my word.<p> <A name="25"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/1-24.htm#aramaic"><b>24</b></a></span>For I have cried, and you have not believed, and I have lifted my voice and you have not listened.<p> <A name="26"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/1-25.htm#aramaic"><b>25</b></a></span>And you despise all my counsels and you were not pleased with my reproof.<p> <A name="27"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/1-26.htm#aramaic"><b>26</b></a></span>I also shall laugh over your destruction and I shall rejoice when tumult and destruction suddenly comes upon you.<p> <A name="28"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/1-27.htm#aramaic"><b>27</b></a></span>And your destruction will come like a hurricane, and when trouble and adversity comes against them,<p> <A name="29"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/1-28.htm#aramaic"><b>28</b></a></span>Then they will call on me and I shall not answer them, and they will come early to my presence and they will not find me<p> <A name="30"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/1-29.htm#aramaic"><b>29</b></a></span>Because they hated knowledge and they did not choose the worship of LORD JEHOVAH.<p> <A name="31"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/1-30.htm#aramaic"><b>30</b></a></span>And they did not choose my counsel and they have rejected all my reproof.<p> <A name="32"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/1-31.htm#aramaic"><b>31</b></a></span>And they will eat of the fruit of their ways and they will be filled with their counsels.<p> <A name="33"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/1-32.htm#aramaic"><b>32</b></a></span>Because of this, the turning away of the children will kill them, and the error of feeble minds will destroy them.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/proverbs/1-33.htm#aramaic"><b>33</b></a></span>And he who hears me will dwell in hope and will
