The concept of kingdoms is central to the narrative of the Bible, encompassing the rule of human monarchs as well as the sovereign reign of God. Earthly Kingdoms Throughout the Old Testament, various earthly kingdoms play significant roles in the unfolding account of God's people. The most prominent of these is the Kingdom of Israel, established under the leadership of King Saul, and later expanded and solidified by King David and his son Solomon. It represents God's sovereign rule over all creation and His redemptive plan for humanity.
