The purpose of the scrubber is to release the adhered fine clayey particles from the iron-bearing particles. Presently, the iron ore wash plants in the Eastern region of India consist of the scrubber, double deck screen followed by screw classifier as the main unit operations. Hence, scrubber performance efficiency has a huge impact on the downstream product quality. This paper illustrates the effect of scrubber feed % solids on scrubber performance and alumina distribution on downstream equipment. Further, it was established that scrubber performance efficiency could be defined as the ratio of the adhered particles (-0.15mm) released from scrubber feed during scrubbing operation with respect to the maximum possible release of -0.15mm (%) particles. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=scrubber" title="scrubber">scrubber</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=adhered%20particles" title=" adhered particles"> adhered particles</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=feed%20%25%20solids" title=" feed % solids"> feed % solids</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=efficiency" title=" efficiency"> efficiency</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/146354/drum-scrubber-performance-assessment-and-improvement-to-achieve-the-desired-product-quality" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/146354.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">138</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1719</span> Modern Management Principles Enshrined in Ancient Vedic Texts</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=M.%20Kishore%20Kumar">M. The four Vedas, a conglomerate of Hindu scriptures, contain many principles of modern management at organisation as well as at individual levels. It lays down the duties of a King and ministers as well as its citizens and cites values for leadership. Bhagawadgita (or ‘Gita’ in short), popularly cited as Pancham (Fifth) Veda, is stated to be sermoned about 5000 years ago by Lord Krishna. In the midst of the Kurukshetra battle, Gitopadesh was given various aspects such as dharma (duties), karma (action), stithaprajna (stable mind), nishkama (detachment from results) and ethics. Arjun was steered to victory by Lord Krishna as his charioteer, and the 700-odd-verse holy text Bhagawadgita can become a valuable guide for all of us to achieve success in business management. Many parallels exist between modern-day management theories and principles enshrined in Vedic texts. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=goal" title="goal">goal</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=motivation" title=" motivation"> motivation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=leadership" title=" leadership"> leadership</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mind" title=" mind"> mind</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=management" title=" management"> management</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/162460/modern-management-principles-enshrined-in-ancient-vedic-texts" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/162460.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">87</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1718</span> South Asia’s Political Landscape: Precipitating Terrorism</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Saroj%20Kumar%20Rath">Saroj Kumar Rath</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> India's Muslims represent 15 percent of the nation's population, the world's third largest group in any nation after Indonesia and Pakistan. Extremist groups like the Islamic State, Al Qaeda, the Taliban and the Haqqani network increasingly view India as a target. Several trends explain the rise: Terrorism threats in South Asia are linked and mobile - if one source is batted down, jihadists relocate to find another Islamic cause. As NATO withdraws from Afghanistan, some jihadists will eye India. Pakistan regards India as a top enemy and some officials even encourage terrorists to target areas like Kashmir or Mumbai. Meanwhile, a stream of Wahhabi preachers have visited India, offering hard-line messages; extremist groups like Al Qaeda and the Islamic State compete for influence, and militants even pay jihadists. Muslims as a minority population in India could offer fertile ground for the extremist recruiters. This paper argues that there is an urgent need for the Indian government to profile militants and examine social media sites to attack Wahhabi indoctrination while supporting education and entrepreneurship for all of India's citizens. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Al%20Qaeda" title="Al Qaeda">Al Qaeda</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=terrorism" title=" terrorism"> terrorism</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Islamic%20state" title=" Islamic state"> Islamic state</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=India" title=" India"> India</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=haqqani%20network" title=" haqqani network"> haqqani network</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Pakistan" title=" Pakistan"> Pakistan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Taliban" title=" Taliban"> Taliban</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/21186/south-asias-political-landscape-precipitating-terrorism" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/21186.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">617</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1717</span> Embedded Test Framework: A Solution Accelerator for Embedded Hardware Testing</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Arjun%20Kumar%20Rath">Arjun Kumar Rath</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Titus%20Dhanasingh"> Titus Dhanasingh</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Embedded product development requires software to test hardware functionality during development and finding issues during manufacturing in larger quantities. As the components are getting integrated, the devices are tested for their full functionality using advanced software tools. Benchmarking tools are used to measure and compare the performance of product features. At present, these tests are based on a variety of methods involving varying hardware and software platforms. Typically, these tests are custom built for every product and remain unusable for other variants. A majority of the tests goes undocumented, not updated, unusable when the product is released. To bridge this gap, a solution accelerator in the form of a framework can address these issues for running all these tests from one place, using an off-the-shelf tests library in a continuous integration environment. There are many open-source test frameworks or tools (fuego. LAVA, AutoTest, KernelCI, etc.) designed for testing embedded system devices, with each one having several unique good features, but one single tool and framework may not satisfy all of the testing needs for embedded systems, thus an extensible framework with the multitude of tools. Embedded product testing includes board bring-up testing, test during manufacturing, firmware testing, application testing, and assembly testing. Traditional test methods include developing test libraries and support components for every new hardware platform that belongs to the same domain with identical hardware architecture. This approach will have drawbacks like non-reusability where platform-specific libraries cannot be reused, need to maintain source infrastructure for individual hardware platforms, and most importantly, time is taken to re-develop test cases for new hardware platforms. These limitations create challenges like environment set up for testing, scalability, and maintenance. A desirable strategy is certainly one that is focused on maximizing reusability, continuous integration, and leveraging artifacts across the complete development cycle during phases of testing and across family of products. To get over the stated challenges with the conventional method and offers benefits of embedded testing, an embedded test framework (ETF), a solution accelerator, is designed, which can be deployed in embedded system-related products with minimal customizations and maintenance to accelerate the hardware testing. Embedded test framework supports testing different hardwares including microprocessor and microcontroller. It offers benefits such as (1) Time-to-Market: Accelerates board brings up time with prepacked test suites supporting all necessary peripherals which can speed up the design and development stage(board bring up, manufacturing and device driver) (2) Reusability-framework components isolated from the platform-specific HW initialization and configuration makes the adaptability of test cases across various platform quick and simple (3) Effective build and test infrastructure with multiple test interface options and preintegrated with FUEGO framework (4) Continuos integration - pre-integrated with Jenkins which enabled continuous testing and automated software update feature. Applying the embedded test framework accelerator throughout the design and development phase enables to development of the well-tested systems before functional verification and improves time to market to a large extent. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=board%20diagnostics%20software" title="board diagnostics software">board diagnostics software</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=embedded%20system" title=" embedded system"> embedded system</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hardware%20testing" title=" hardware testing"> hardware testing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=test%20frameworks" title=" test frameworks"> test frameworks</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/130202/embedded-test-framework-a-solution-accelerator-for-embedded-hardware-testing" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/130202.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">145</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1716</span> Isotherm Study for Phenol Removal onto GAC</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lallan%20Singh%20Yadav">Lallan Singh Yadav</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bijay%20Kumar%20Mishra"> Bijay Kumar Mishra</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Manoj%20Kumar%20Mahapatra"> Manoj Kumar Mahapatra</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Arvind%20Kumar"> Arvind Kumar</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Adsorption data for phenol removal onto granular activated carbon were fitted to Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms. Kashmir witnessed terrorism for more than a decade till 2004 when Indian forces decimated militancy. After the US pressure in 1992, terrorist training camps of Pakistan shifted to Afghanistan and al Qaeda and the Taliban had taken over training of Kashmiri militants in Afghanistan after 1997 as part of their global jihad. The Indo-Pak rivalry over Kashmir dispute had taken a new turn in the aftermath of 9/11 developments. Islamabad viewed its Afghan policy through the prism of denying India any advantage in Kabul. Pakistan was successful in refuting Indian presence in Kabul for a decade through the Taliban. After the 9/11 attacks the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) saw Northern Alliance, supported by the Americans and all of Pakistan’s regional rivals – India, Iran, and Russia – as claiming victory in Kabul. For Pakistan’s military regime, this was a strategic disaster and prompted the ISI to give refuge to the escaping Taliban, while denying full support to Hamid Karzai. The new development in Afghanistan prompted India to establish a foothold it had lost nearly a decade earlier. India established diplomatic contacts with Afghanistan; supported the Karzai government and funded aid programs. Pakistan alleged that Indian agents are training Baloch and Sindhi dissidents in Pakistan through Afghanistan. Kabul had suddenly become the new Kashmir – the new battleground for India-Pakistan rivalry. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Afghan%20imbroglio" title="Afghan imbroglio">Afghan imbroglio</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kashmir%20conflict" title=" Kashmir conflict"> Kashmir conflict</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Indo-Pak%20rivalry" title=" Indo-Pak rivalry"> Indo-Pak rivalry</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=US%20policy%20in%20South%20Asia" title=" US policy in South Asia"> US policy in South Asia</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/48231/india-pakistan-and-the-us-in-the-afghan-imbroglio-the-way-forward" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/48231.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">433</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1714</span> Demographic Dividend and Creation of Human and Knowledge Capital in Liberal India: An Endogenous Growth Process</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Arjun%20K.">Arjun K.</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Arumugam%20Sankaran"> Arumugam Sankaran</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sanjay%20Kumar"> Sanjay Kumar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mousumi%20%20Das"> Mousumi Das</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The paper analyses the existence of endogenous growth scenario emanating from the demographic dividend in India during the liberalization period starting from 1980. Demographic dividend creates a fertile ground for the cultivation of human and knowledge capitals contributing to technological progress which can be measured using total factor productivity. The relationship among total factor productivity, human and knowledge capitals are examined in an open endogenous framework for the period 1980-2016. The control variables such as foreign direct investment, trade openness, energy consumption are also employed. The data are sourced from Reserve Bank of India, World Bank, International Energy Agency and The National Science and Technology Management Information System. To understand the dynamic association among variables, ARDL bounds approach to cointegration followed by Toda-Yamamoto causality test are used. The results reveal a short run and long run relationship among the variables supported by the existence of causality. This calls for an integrated policy to build and augment human capital and research and development activities to sustain and pace up growth and development in the nation. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=demographic%20dividend" title="demographic dividend">demographic dividend</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=young%20population" title=" young population"> young population</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=open%20endogenous%20growth%20models" title=" open endogenous growth models"> open endogenous growth models</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=human%20and%20knowledge%20capital" title=" human and knowledge capital"> human and knowledge capital</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/107591/demographic-dividend-and-creation-of-human-and-knowledge-capital-in-liberal-india-an-endogenous-growth-process" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/107591.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">151</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1713</span> Long Run Estimates of Population, Consumption and Economic Development of India: An ARDL Bounds Testing Approach of Cointegration</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sanjay%20Kumar">Sanjay Kumar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Arumugam%20Sankaran"> Arumugam Sankaran</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Arjun%20K."> Arjun K.</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mousumi%20Das"> Mousumi Das</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The amount of domestic consumption and population growth is having a positive impact on economic growth and development as observed by the Harrod-Domar and endogenous growth models. The paper negates the Solow growth model which argues the population growth has a detrimental impact on per capita and steady-state growth. Unlike the Solow model, the paper observes, the per capita income growth never falls zero, and it sustains as positive. Hence, our goal here is to investigate the relationship among population, domestic consumption and economic growth of India. For this estimation, annual data from 1980-2016 has been collected from World Development Indicator and Reserve Bank of India. To know the long run as well as short-run dynamics among the variables, we have employed the ARDL bounds testing approach of cointegration followed by modified Wald causality test to know the direction of causality. The conclusion from cointegration and ARDL estimates reveal that there is a long run positive and statistically significant relationship among the variables under study. At the same time, the causality test shows that there is a causal relationship that exists among the variables. Hence, this calls for policies which have a long run perspective in strengthening the capabilities and entitlements of people and stabilizing domestic demand so as to serve long run and short run growth and stability of the economy. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cointegration" title="cointegration">cointegration</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=consumption" title=" consumption"> consumption</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=economic%20development" title=" economic development"> economic development</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=population%20growth" title=" population growth"> population growth</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/107590/long-run-estimates-of-population-consumption-and-economic-development-of-india-an-ardl-bounds-testing-approach-of-cointegration" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/107590.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">159</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1712</span> Urban Dust Influence on the Foliar Surface and Biochemical Constituents of Selected Plants in the National Capital Region of Delhi, India</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=G.%20P.%20Gupta">G. During dry weather conditions which prevail most of the year, dustfall is deposited onto the foliar surfaces affecting their morphology, stomata and biochemical constituents. This study reports chemical characteristics of dustfall, its effect on foliar morphology and biochemical constituents of two medicinal plants i.e. Morus (Morus alba) and Arjun (Terminalia arjuna) in the urban environment of National Capital Region (NCR) of Delhi at two sites i.e. Jawaharlal Nehru University (residential) and Sahibabad (industrial). Atmospheric dust was characterized for major anions (F-, Cl-, NO3-, SO4--) and cations (Na+, NH4+, K+, Mg++, Ca++) along with the biochemical parameters Chl a, Chl b, total chlorophyll, carotenoid, total soluble sugar, relative water content (RWC), pH, and ascorbic acid. The results showed that the concentrations of major ions in dustfall were higher at the industrial site as compared to the residential site due to the higher level of anthropogenic activities. Both the plant species grown at industrial site had significantly lower values of chlorophyll ‘a’, chlorophyll ‘b’, total chlorophyll, carotenoid but relatively higher values of total soluble sugar and ascorbic acid indicating stressful conditions due to industrial and vehicular emissions. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dustfall" title="dustfall">dustfall</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=urban%20environment" title=" urban environment"> urban environment</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=biochemical%20constituents" title=" biochemical constituents"> biochemical constituents</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=atmospheric%20dust" title=" atmospheric dust "> atmospheric dust </a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/2381/urban-dust-influence-on-the-foliar-surface-and-biochemical-constituents-of-selected-plants-in-the-national-capital-region-of-delhi-india" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/2381.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">305</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1711</span> Fractional Order Differentiator Using Chebyshev Polynomials</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Koushlendra%20Kumar%20Singh">Koushlendra Kumar Singh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Manish%20Kumar%20Bajpai"> Manish Kumar Bajpai</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rajesh%20Kumar%20Pandey"> Rajesh Kumar Pandey</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> A discrete time fractional orderdifferentiator has been modeled for estimating the fractional order derivatives of contaminated signal. Highlighting the translated versions of Kondh and Oroan songs—chiefly highlighting issues on agriculture—we argue that the relevance of these songs have fallen apart in the recent decades with the advancement of modern knowledge and thinking. What remains instead is a faint voice in the oral tradition that sings the past indigenous knowledge in the form of oral literature. Though there have been few attempts to document the rich cultural tradition by some individuals—Sitakant Mahapatra’s can be cited as an example—the need to document the tradition remains ever arching. In short, the thesis examines Kondh and Oroan “songs” and argues for a need to document the tradition. It also shows a comparative study on both the tribes on Agriculture which shows their cultural identity and a diversification of both the tribes in nature and how these tribal groups are associated with nature and the cycle of it. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=oral%20tradition" title="oral tradition">oral tradition</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Meriah" title=" Meriah"> Meriah</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=folklore" title=" folklore"> folklore</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=karma" title=" karma"> karma</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Oroan" title=" Oroan"> Oroan</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/19785/a-lost-tradition-reflections-towards-select-tribal-songs-of-odisha" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/19785.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">468</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1707</span> Magnetic Properties of Layered Rare-Earth Oxy-Carbonates Ln2O2CO3 (Ln = Nd, Sm, and Dy)</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=U.%20Arjun">U. All of them crystallize in a hexagonal structure with space group P6_3/mmc. They form a double layered structure with frustrated triangular arrangement of rare-earth magnetic ions. An antiferromagnetic transition is observed at TN ≈ 1.25 K, 0.61 K, and 1.21 K for Nd2O2CO3, Sm2O2CO3, and Dy2O2CO3, respectively. From the analysis of magnetic susceptibility, the value of the Curie-Weiss temperature θ_CW is obtained to be ≈ 21.7 K, 18 K, and 10.6 K for Nd2O2CO3, Sm2O2CO3, and Dy2O2CO3, respectively. The magnetic frustration parameter f ( = |θ_CW|/T_N) is calculated to be ≈ 17.4, 31, and 8.8 for Nd2O2CO3, Sm2O2CO3, and Dy2O2CO3, respectively which indicates that Sm2O2CO3 is strongly frustrated compared to its Nd and Dy analogues. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=chemical%20synthesis" title="chemical synthesis">chemical synthesis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=exchange%20and%20superexchange" title=" exchange and superexchange"> exchange and superexchange</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=heat%20capacity" title=" heat capacity"> heat capacity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=magnetically%20ordered%20materials" title=" magnetically ordered materials"> magnetically ordered materials</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/51205/magnetic-properties-of-layered-rare-earth-oxy-carbonates-ln2o2co3-ln-nd-sm-and-dy" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/51205.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">354</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1706</span> Thus Spoke the Mouth: Problematizing Dalit Voice in Selected Poems</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Barnali%20Saha">Barnali Saha</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Dalit writing is the interventionalist voice of the dispossessed subaltern in the cultural economy of the society. As such, Dalit writing, including Dalit poetry, considers the contradictions that permeate the socio-cultural structure historically allocated and religiously sanctioned in the Indian subcontinent. As an epicenter of all Dalit experiences of trauma and violence, the poetics the Dalit body is deeply rooted in the peripheral space socially assigned to it by anachronistic caste-based litigation. An appraisal of Dalit creative-critical work by writers like Sharan Kumar Limbale, Arjun Dangle, Namdeo Dhasal, Om Prakash Valmiki, Muktibodh and others underscore the conjunction of the physical, psychical and the psychological in their interpretation of Dalit consciousness. They put forward the idea that Dalit poetry is begotten by the trauma of societal oppression and therefore, Dalit language and its revitalization are two elements obdurately linked to Dalit poetics. The present research paper seeks to read the problematization of the Dalit agency through the conduit of the Dalit voice wherein the anatomical category of the mouth is closely related to the question of Dalit identity. Theoretically aligned to Heidegger’s notion of language as the house of being and Bachelard’s assertion of a house as an ideal metaphor of poetic imagination and Dylan Trigg’s view of the coeval existence of space and body, the paper examines a series of selected poems by Dalit poetic voices to examine how their distinct Dalit point of view underscores Dalit speech and directs our attention to the historical abstraction of it. The paper further examines how speech as a category in Dalit writing places the Dalit somatic entity as a site of contestation with the ‘Mouth’ as a loaded symbolic category inspiring rebellion and resistance. And as the quintessential purpose of Dalit literature is the unleashing of Dalit voice from the anti-verbal domain of social decrepitude, Dalit poetry needs to be critically read based on the experience of the mouth and the patois. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Dalit" title="Dalit">Dalit</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=poetry" title=" poetry"> poetry</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=speech" title=" speech"> speech</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mouth" title=" mouth"> mouth</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=subaltern" title=" subaltern"> subaltern</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=minority" title=" minority"> minority</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=exploitation" title=" exploitation"> exploitation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=space" title=" space"> space</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/140021/thus-spoke-the-mouth-problematizing-dalit-voice-in-selected-poems" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/140021.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">195</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1705</span> Comparison of Proportional-Integral (P-I) and Integral-Propotional (I-P) Controllers for Speed Control in Vector Controlled Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Drive</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=V.%20Srikanth">V. It is demonstrated that as we increase the data rate, number of users to be accommodated decreases due to increase in bit error rate. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=BER" title="BER">BER</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=PON" title=" PON"> PON</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=TDMPON" title=" TDMPON"> TDMPON</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=GPON" title=" GPON"> GPON</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=CWDM" title=" CWDM"> CWDM</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=OLT" title=" OLT"> OLT</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ONT" title=" ONT"> ONT</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/4036/investigation-of-delivery-of-triple-play-service-in-ge-pon-fiber-to-the-home-network" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/4036.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">733</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1702</span> A Problem in Microstretch Thermoelastic Diffusive Medium </h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Devinder%20Singh">Devinder Singh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Arvind%20Kumar"> Arvind Kumar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rajneesh%20Kumar"> Rajneesh Kumar</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The general solution of the equations for a homogeneous isotropic microstretch thermo elastic medium with mass diffusion for two dimensional problems is obtained due to normal and tangential forces. Discontinuity between different motions is one of the challenging problem in flow estimation. In this paper, we design a new anisotropic diffusion operator, which is able to provide smooth flow over a region and efficiently preserve discontinuity in optical flow. This operator is designed on the basis of intensity differences of the pixels and isotropic operator using exponential function. The combination of these are used to control the propagation of flow. Experimental results on the different datasets verify the robustness and accuracy of the algorithm and also validate the effect of anisotropic operator in the discontinuity preserving. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=optical%20flow" title="optical flow">optical flow</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=variational%20methods" title=" variational methods"> variational methods</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=computer%20vision" title=" computer vision"> computer vision</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=anisotropic%20operator" title=" anisotropic operator"> anisotropic operator</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/20827/anisotropic-approach-for-discontinuity-preserving-in-optical-flow-estimation" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/20827.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">873</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1693</span> Large Language Model Powered Chatbots Need End-to-End Benchmarks</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Debarag%20Banerjee">Debarag Banerjee</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Pooja%20Singh"> Pooja Singh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Arjun%20Avadhanam"> Arjun Avadhanam</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Saksham%20Srivastava"> Saksham Srivastava</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Autonomous conversational agents, i.e., chatbots, are becoming an increasingly common mechanism for enterprises to provide support to customers and partners. In order to rate chatbots, especially ones powered by Generative AI tools like Large Language Models (LLMs), we need to be able to accurately assess their performance. This is where chatbot benchmarking becomes important. In this paper, authors propose the use of a benchmark that they call the E2E (End to End) benchmark and show how the E2E benchmark can be used to evaluate the accuracy and usefulness of the answers provided by chatbots, especially ones powered by LLMs. The authors evaluate an example chatbot at different levels of sophistication based on both our E2E benchmark as well as other available metrics commonly used in the state of the art and observe that the proposed benchmark shows better results compared to others. In addition, while some metrics proved to be unpredictable, the metric associated with the E2E benchmark, which uses cosine similarity, performed well in evaluating chatbots. The performance of our best models shows that there are several benefits of using the cosine similarity score as a metric in the E2E benchmark. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=chatbot%20benchmarking" title="chatbot benchmarking">chatbot benchmarking</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=end-to-end%20%28E2E%29%20benchmarking" title=" end-to-end (E2E) benchmarking"> end-to-end (E2E) benchmarking</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=large%20language%20model" title=" large language model"> large language model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=user%20centric%20evaluation." title=" user centric evaluation."> user centric evaluation.</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/175727/large-language-model-powered-chatbots-need-end-to-end-benchmarks" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/175727.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">66</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1692</span> Assessment of ATC with Shunt FACTS Devices</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ashwani%20Kumar">Ashwani Kumar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jitender%20Kumar"> Jitender Kumar</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In this paper, an optimal power flow based approach has been applied for multi-transactions deregulated environment for ATC determination with SVC and STATCOM. The results have been determined for intact and line contingency cases taking simultaneous as well as single transaction cases for IEEE 24 bus RTS. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=available%20transfer%20capability" title="available transfer capability">available transfer capability</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=FACTS%20devices" title=" FACTS devices"> FACTS devices</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=line%20contingency" title=" line contingency"> line contingency</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multi-transactions" title=" multi-transactions"> multi-transactions</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ZIP%20load%20model" title=" ZIP load model"> ZIP load model</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/1583/assessment-of-atc-with-shunt-facts-devices" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/1583.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">600</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1691</span> Design of Saddle Support for Horizontal Pressure Vessel</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Vinod%20Kumar">Vinod Kumar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Navin%20Kumar"> Navin Kumar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Surjit%20Angra"> Surjit Angra</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Prince%20Sharma"> Prince Sharma</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This paper presents the design analysis of saddle support of a horizontal pressure vessel. Since saddle have the vital role to support the pressure vessel and to maintain its stability, it should be designed in such a way that it can afford the vessel load and internal pressure of the vessel due to liquid contained in the vessel. A model of horizontal pressure vessel and saddle support is created in Ansys. Stresses are calculated using mathematical approach and Ansys software. The analysis reveals the zone of high localized stress at the junction part of the pressure vessel and saddle support due to operating conditions. The results obtained by both the methods are compared with allowable stress value for safe designing. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a
