BNEN operates as a catalyst for networks between academic institutions, research centres, the industry and other stakeholders within the nuclear domain and aims at the development and upholding of expertise in the field of high-quality nuclear engineering.</p> <p>The curriculum of this master after master education (60 ECTS in one year, including a master’s thesis) allows students to acquire the necessary scientific and technical background and skills for developing a career in the field of nuclear applications. A modular approach facilitates the participation of foreign students.</p> <p>The education modules are taught in English and are organised in the buildings of SCK CEN in Mol, Belgium. The laboratory exercises are made in the nuclear facilities of SCK CEN and are organised by our own scientists. The study meets the requirements of the Royal Decree of 20 July 2001 (ARBIS/RGPRI) and has been designed for everyone who wishes to become officially accredited as a Radiation Protection Expert (RPE) in radiological or nuclear applications for the industrial or medical sector. The study is an initiative of SCK CEN, UHasselt, ISIB and IRE.</p> <p>The course covers the scientific and technological fundamentals of radiological and nuclear techniques, with specific attention to radiation protection. The SCK CEN Academy and UHasselt organise the education in Dutch on Friday, alternately in Hasselt (campus Diepenbeek) and on the site of SCK CEN in Mol. advice on radiation protection so as to ensure an effective protection of persons and whose competence in this area has been recognised by the competent authorities.</em> More information about
