style="font-size:16px">南普陀寺在厦门岛南部五老峰下。始建于唐代，为闽南佛教胜地之一。寺内天王殿、大雄宝殿、大悲殿建筑精美，雄伟宏丽，各殿供奉弥勒、三世尊佛、千手观音、四大天王、十八罗汉等，藏经阁珍藏佛教文物丰富多彩，有经典、佛像、宋代铜钟、古书等，明万历年间血书《妙法莲花经》和何朝宗名作白瓷观音等最为名贵。寺宇周围保留众多题刻，著名的有明万历陈第、沈有容题名石刻和清乾隆御制碑。寺后崖壁“佛”字石刻，高一丈四尺，宽一丈。寺后五峰屏立，松竹翠郁，岩壑幽美，号“五老凌霄”，是厦门大八景之一。南普陀寺规模宏大，占地25.8万平方米，建筑面积21270平方米。寺中建筑有天王殿、大雄宝殿（目前正在修缮，暂时无法参观）、大悲殿、藏经阁等。两厢钟鼓楼、左侧新建的慈善楼与右侧普照楼，左右对应，雄伟壮观。南普陀寺香火旺盛，进香者与游人络绎不绝。南普陀寺内千手观音工艺精绝，藏经阁珍藏佛教文物丰富多彩。庙宇周围保留众多名人题刻，寺后崖壁“佛”字石刻，高一丈四尺，宽一丈。南普陀寺后往上就是五老峰，登临远眺，山风海涛，尽收眼底。南普陀寺的格局为三殿七堂，坐北朝南，依山面海，建筑风格具有独特的闽南特色。除了天王殿，大悲殿，大雄宝殿以及藏经阁等主题建筑外，寺内还有佛学院教舍，放生池和莲花池等建筑。南普陀在厦大的附近，领略过风景如织的校园风光后，不妨来南普陀尝尝素菜，上柱清香静静心。每年农历的2月19日、6月19日、9月19日观音诞的时候，南普陀寺内均会举行盛大的佛事活动，众多善男信女手持燃香叩头跪拜，祈求健康和财富。在寺内，游客有机会品尝著名的南普陀寺素菜。</span></p>
