(depending on experience) plus benefits</strong></p> <p><strong>Job type:             Permanent </strong></p> <p><strong>Hours:                  37.5 per week 5 on, 3 off rota which includes early, late and weekend shifts.</strong></p> <p>Do you want to help us look after some of the brightest and exciting leaders of the future in a beautiful and historical environment?  Are you cheerful and enjoy dealing with people from all sorts of backgrounds?  Are you hard working and thorough enough to make sure the job is done properly?</p> <p class="MsoNoSpacing">St John’s College, one of the largest Colleges within the University of Cambridge, is seeking to appoint a Porter to join our Portering Department.  The role involves carrying out a variety of tasks including working in the Porters’ Lodges to provide a welcoming reception service, patrolling the College to ensure the security of the College buildings and grounds and the safety of those living and working in the College and visitors.</p> <p>The successful candidate will have previous experience of working in a customer-related environment together with excellent communication skills, particularly in relation to young people.
