<p><strong>Editor-in-Chief</strong><br /><strong>Dr Afzalur Rashid, University of Southern Queensland, Australia</strong></p> <p>Afzalur Rashid, PhD, CPA is a Senior Lecturer in Accounting in the School of Business at the University of Southern Queensland. In the last quarter century, he taught at the universities in Australia and overseas. The major areas of his research interest are in Carbon Emission and Disclosure, Corporate Governance, Corporate Social and Environmental Disclosures and Earnings Management. His PhD thesis examined 'corporate governance practices in a less developed country'. He presented his research ideas at many prestigious international gatherings, such as American Accounting Association Annual Meeting, British Accounting Association Annual Conference, Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand (AFAANZ) Conference, Asia Pacific Interdisciplinary Research in Accounting (APIRA) Conference. In his academic career, he has also published about 37 research papers in international peer-reviewed journals including papers in top ranked journals, such as Asia Pacific Journal of Management, International Review of Financial Analysis, Journal of Business Ethics and Managerial Auditing Journal. He is the recipient of the School Specific Publication Excellence Award from the University of Southern Queensland in 2015 and 2017. His research on Corporate Governance and Corporate Social Responsibility has attracted international attention. He is an experienced Higher Degree Research (HDR) Supervisor and supervised more than ten HDR students (Research Masters, DBA and PhD) as a Principal Supervisor. He is (was) the editor and guest editor of many international journals and has delivered training and speeches (including keynote speeches) as an invited guest at many international conferences in Australia, Malaysia and the United States of America.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Editorial Advisory Board</strong></p> <p><strong><img src="https://journalshosting.com/aabljournals/public/site/images/aabl2023/150737-g-tian-02.png" alt="" width="160" height="217" /></strong></p> <p><strong>Professor Gary Tian, Professor of Finance, Macquarie University Sydney, Australia</strong></p> <p>Gary is Professor of Finance and Director of the Chinese Commerce Research Centre at the University of Wollongong. He has published extensively in the areas of political connections, CEO compensation, bank lending, corporate governance, and market microstructure. Over the last five years he has published five A* ranked journal articles along with many A ranked articles including the J of Corporate Finance (2011, 2012, 2013, 2015) and J of Banking and Finance (2015). Currently he has other five papers under second round revision with top and leading finance journals. Over the last five years, he successfully supervised his nine PhD students to completion within the required time. Among these students, two received their PhD with special commendation from the examiners for their outstanding theses. Last year, as one of CIs, he secured the only ARC Discovery Grant in the field of finance. He won a Best Paper Award from the Financial Management Association in 2011 and the 2013 Runner up Award from Corporate Governance: An International Review. Currently he serves as the Secretary of the Asian Finance Association and a member of the editorial board for the Journal of the Asia Pacific Economy.</p> <p><img src="https://journalshosting.com/aabljournals/public/site/images/aabl2023/xiaoming.jpg" alt="" width="159" height="205" /></p> <p><strong>Professor Xiaoming Li, Professor in Financial Economics, Massey University, New Zealand</strong></p> <p>Xiaoming Li received his PhD from University of Strathclyde in 1994, and then worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at University of Sheffield before joining Massey University in 1997. Since then, he has taught 12 different economics papers at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and supervised/examined research reports, MBS theses and PhD theses from both within and outside Massey University. Four supervised PhD students successfully completed their theses. After obtaining a PhD, three of them were subsequently appointed to, respectively, Senior Researcher, Senior Lecturer and Postdoctoral Research Fellow, and one has now become Full Professor.</p> <p>Li’s research and teaching interests are in the fields of macroeconomics, financial economics, international economics/finance and Chinese economy. His research work straddles a wide range of topics. These topics look at co-movements of international commodity-equity and oil-equity markets; foreign exchange markets; diversification benefits of portfolios; asset pricing; risk management; stock markets in emerging economies, market efficiency; market integration; and China's macroeconomic stabilization, economic reform, economic growth, and policy impacts on financial markets.</p> <p>Li has published extensively in refereed journals (including A*- and A-rated journals), books, and international conferences, and his articles have been widely cited and downloaded by other researchers including world-renowned ones. Li has reviewed close to 70 manuscripts submitted to various economics/finance journals, and has served on the editorial boards of the following journals: Scottish Journal of Political Economy (January 2005 – date), Journal of Chinese Economic and Business Studies (December 2001- date), TiBEC Journal of Business and Economics (June 2008 – date), The Open Economics Journal (2008 – 2012), Terengganu International Finance & Economics Journal (2011 – 2013), and International Centre of Science, Education and Academic Research for Scholars (ISS) (August 2012 – date).</p> <p>Jointly with a professor from Nanjing University (P R China), Li as a co-leader and a principal investigator successfully applied for China's most prestigious NNSFC (National Natural Science Foundation of China) funding in 2011. Li received an Advanced Researcher Award in 2005, a First-Class Paper Prize in 2004, an Emerging Researcher Award in 2001, Citation of Excellence for Originality Awards for two journal articles published in 2001 and 1997, and an APEC Finance and Development Program Research Grant in 2003 with his research proposal being ranked number 2 in the ranking list of all proposals submitted by researchers from APEC member countries.</p> <p>Li has been appointed by Nanjing University as Adjunct Professor, and by University of Macau as an external reviewer of promotion applications. He has been included in Marquis’ Who's Who in the World, the AcademicKeys Who's Who in Business Higher Education (WWBHE), and the Story of Successful Chinese People Overseas (New Zealand Volume 1).</p> <p> </p> <p><img src="https://journalshosting.com/aabljournals/public/site/images/aabl2023/j.-cotter-d3ecfa5c06999a657735dd0fd8bc8277.jpg" alt="" width="159" height="229" /><br /><strong>Professor Julie Cotter, Emeritus Professor, University of Southern Queensland, Australia</strong><br />Professor Julie Cotter is an Emeritus Professor at the University of Southern Queensland. She was the Director of the Australian Centre for Sustainable Business and Development, a research centre of the University of Southern Queensland. In this capacity, she led a multidisciplinary group of researchers and PhD students in the creation of evidence-based solutions to sustainable business and development problems. Julie and her colleagues engage with government, industry, and community stakeholders to provide practical research and development outcomes. Current research interests include access to external equity finance for Australian agribusinesses and related governance and business models.<br />Julie is also an experienced company director. She Chairs the Chambers of Commerce and Industries Queensland ecoBiz Program Advisory Committee. Professor Cotter was a finalist in the category ‘Outstanding contributions to policy development’ in the 100 Women in Australian Agribusiness 2014 list. She is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), a Chartered Accountant and a Fellow of CPA Australia.</p> <p><img src="https://journalshosting.com/aabljournals/public/site/images/aabl2023/peter-best.jpg" alt="" width="160" height="216" /></p> <p><strong>Professor Peter Best, Professor and Discipline Head of Accounting, Griffith University, Australia.</strong></p> <p>Peter Best is Professor and Head of the Department of Accounting, Economics, Finance & Property, at Central Queensland University. He has held positions at University of Newcastle, University of Adelaide, Flinders University, QUT, University of Southern Queensland and Griffith University He has qualifications in accounting, operations research and information technology. His PhD examined the feasibility of machine-independent audit trail analysis in large computer systems. His teaching, research and consulting experience includes business intelligence and data mining (SAS), enterprise systems (SAP), information systems security & audit (SAP), sustainability reporting & assurance, computer assisted audit techniques (SAS, ACL), automated fraud detection and audit trail analysis. He is also the co-author of the series of BDO Not-for-Profit Surveys 2006-2014.
