id="paragraph--314"> <h2 class="section__title" data-expand="field--field_text">Personalized OncoGenomics (POG)</h2> <div class="field field--field_expanding_summary">The BC Cancer Personalized OncoGenomics (POG) Program is a clinical research initiative consisting of oncologists, pathologists and other clinical, research and technical personnel, that aims to study the impact of embedding genomic sequencing into real-time treatment planning for B.C. patients with otherwise incurable metastatic cancers.</div> <button class="icon" data-expand></button> <div class="field field--field_text"> <p><img alt="POG" data-entity-type="" data-entity-uuid="" src="https://www.bcgsc.ca/sites/default/files/GSC/POG%20%281%29_0.png" class="align-left" />A key research objective for the POG program is to identify and better understand the genomic alterations that drive cancer and its progression and <a href="https://www.bcgsc.ca/glossary#metastasis" target="_blank">metastasis</a>.
