A conventional 65Si7 spring steel leaf spring model with standard eye, casted and riveted eye end are considered. The CAD model of the leaf springs is prepared in CATIA and analyzed using ANSYS. The standard eye, casted, and riveted eye leaf springs are subjected to similar loading conditions. The CAE analysis of the leaf spring is performed for various parameters like deflection and Von-Mises stress. Mass reduction of 62.9% is achieved in case of riveted eye mono leaf spring as compared to standard eye mono leaf spring for the same loading conditions. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=CAE" title="CAE">CAE</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=leaf%20spring" title=" leaf spring"> leaf spring</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=standard" title=" standard"> standard</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=casted" title=" casted"> casted</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=riveted%20eye" title=" riveted eye"> riveted eye</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/15462/a-comparative-study-of-standard-casted-and-riveted-eye-design-of-a-mono-leaf-spring-using-cae-tools" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/15462.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">371</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">20804</span> Correction Factor to Enhance the Non-Standard Hammer Effect Used in Standard Penetration Test </h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Khaled%20R.%20Khater">Khaled R. The locally manufacturer drilling rigs use hammers, sometimes deviating off the standard weight. This affects the field measured blow counts (Nf) consequentially, affecting most of correlations previously obtained, as they were obtained based on standard hammer weight. The literature presents energy corrections factor (η2) to be applied to the SPT total input energy. This research investigates the effect of the hammer weight variation, as a single parameter, on the field measured blow counts (Nf). The outcome is a correction factor (ηk), equation, and correction chart. They are recommended to adjust back the measured misleading (Nf) to the standard one as if the standard hammer is used. This correction is very important to be done in such cases where a non-standard hammer is being used because the bore logs in any geotechnical report should contain true and representative values (Nf), let alone the long records of correlations, already in hand. The study here-in is achieved by using laboratory physical model to simulate the SPT dripping hammer mechanism. It is designed to allow different hammer weights to be used. Also, it is manufactured to avoid and eliminate the energy loss sources. This produces a transmitted efficiency up to 100%. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=correction%20factors" title="correction factors">correction factors</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hammer%20weight" title=" hammer weight"> hammer weight</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=physical%20model" title=" physical model"> physical model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=standard%20penetration%20test" title=" standard penetration test"> standard penetration test</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/36848/correction-factor-to-enhance-the-non-standard-hammer-effect-used-in-standard-penetration-test" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/36848.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">387</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">20803</span> Project Management Agile Model Based on Project Management Body of Knowledge Guideline</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mehrzad%20Abdi%20Khalife">Mehrzad Abdi Khalife</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Iraj%20Mahdavi"> Iraj Mahdavi</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This paper presents the agile model for project management process. However, the processes defined in the standard needs improvement to lift integrity and consistency. The goal of this research is to explore the way by building an ontology model for the SE standard to manage the knowledge of SE. The ontology model gives a whole picture of the SE knowledge domain by building connections between SE concepts. Moreover, it creates a hierarchical classification of the concepts to fulfil different requirements of displaying and analysing SE knowledge. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=knowledge%20management" title="knowledge management">knowledge management</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=model-based%20systems%20engineering" title=" model-based systems engineering"> model-based systems engineering</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ontology%20modelling" title=" ontology modelling"> ontology modelling</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=systems%20engineering%20ontology" title=" systems engineering ontology"> systems engineering ontology</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/54571/an-ontology-model-for-systems-engineering-derived-from-isoiecieee-15288-2015-systems-and-software-engineering-system-life-cycle-processes" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/54571.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">425</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">20801</span> Comparison of Volume of Fluid Model: Experimental and Empirical Results for Flows over Stacked Drop Manholes</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ramin%20Mansouri">Ramin Mansouri</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The manhole is one of the types of structures that are installed at the site of change direction or change in the pipe diameter or sewage pipes as well as in step slope areas to reduce the flow velocity. In this study, the flow characteristics of hydraulic structures in a manhole structure have been investigated with a numerical model. In this research, the types of computational grid coarse, medium, and fines have been used for simulation. In order to simulate flow, k-ε model (standard, RNG, Realizable) and k-w model (standard SST) are used. Also, in order to find the best wall conditions, two types of standard and non-equilibrium wall functions were investigated. The turbulent model k-ε has the highest correlation with experimental results or all models. In terms of boundary conditions, constant speed is set for the flow input boundary, the output pressure is set in the boundaries which are in contact with the air, and the standard wall function is used for the effect of the wall function. In the numerical model, the depth at the output of the second manhole is estimated to be less than that of the laboratory and the output jet from the span. In the second regime, the jet flow collides with the manhole wall and divides into two parts, so hydraulic characteristics are the same as large vertical shaft hydraulic characteristics. In this situation, the turbulence is in a high range since it can be seen more energy loss in it. According to the results, energy loss in numerical is estimated at 9.359%, which is more than experimental data. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=manhole" title="manhole">manhole</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=energy" title=" energy"> energy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=depreciation" title=" depreciation"> depreciation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=turbulence%20model" title=" turbulence model"> turbulence model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=wall%20function" title=" wall function"> wall function</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=flow" title=" flow"> flow</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/166974/comparison-of-volume-of-fluid-model-experimental-and-empirical-results-for-flows-over-stacked-drop-manholes" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/166974.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">82</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">20800</span> Neutral Heavy Scalar Searches via Standard Model Gauge Boson Decays at the Large Hadron Electron Collider with Multivariate Techniques</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Luigi%20Delle%20Rose">Luigi Delle Rose</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Oliver%20Fischer"> Oliver Fischer</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ahmed%20Hammad"> Ahmed Hammad</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In this article, we study the prospects of the proposed Large Hadron electron Collider (LHeC) in the search for heavy neutral scalar particles. We consider a minimal model with one additional complex scalar singlet that interacts with the Standard Model (SM) via mixing with the Higgs doublet, giving rise to an SM-like Higgs boson and a heavy scalar particle. Both scalar particles are produced via vector boson fusion and can be tested via their decays into pairs of SM particles, analogously to the SM Higgs boson. Using multivariate techniques, we show that the LHeC is sensitive to heavy scalars with masses between 200 and 800 GeV down to scalar mixing of order 0.01. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=beyond%20the%20standard%20model" title="beyond the standard model">beyond the standard model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=large%20hadron%20electron%20collider" title=" large hadron electron collider"> large hadron electron collider</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multivariate%20analysis" title=" multivariate analysis"> multivariate analysis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=scalar%20singlet" title=" scalar singlet"> scalar singlet</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/102214/neutral-heavy-scalar-searches-via-standard-model-gauge-boson-decays-at-the-large-hadron-electron-collider-with-multivariate-techniques" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/102214.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">137</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">20799</span> Standard Model-Like Higgs Decay into Displaced Heavy Neutrino Pairs in U(1)&#039; Models</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=E.%20Accomando">E. In particular, they are necessary in a U(1)’ enlarged Standard Model (SM). We show that these heavy neutrinos can be rather long-lived producing distinctive displaced vertices and tracks. Indeed, depending on the actual decay length, they can decay inside a Large Hadron Collider (LHC) detector far from the main interaction point and can be identified in the inner tracking system or the muon chambers, emulated here through the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) detector parameters. Among the possible production modes of such heavy neutrino, we focus on their pair production mechanism in the SM Higgs decay, eventually yielding displaced lepton signatures following the heavy neutrino decays into weak gauge bosons. By employing well-established triggers available for the CMS detector and using the data collected by the end of the LHC Run 2, these signatures would prove to be accessible with negligibly small background. Finally, we highlight the importance that the exploitation of new triggers, specifically, displaced tri-lepton ones, could have for this displaced vertex search. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=beyond%20the%20standard%20model" title="beyond the standard model">beyond the standard model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=displaced%20vertex" title=" displaced vertex"> displaced vertex</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Higgs%20physics" title=" Higgs physics"> Higgs physics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=neutrino%20physics" title=" neutrino physics"> neutrino physics</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/102211/standard-model-like-higgs-decay-into-displaced-heavy-neutrino-pairs-in-u1-models" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/102211.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">145</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">20798</span> Extending Early High Energy Physics Studies with a Tri-Preon Model</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Peter%20J.%20Riley">Peter J. It is a revealing exercise for students to weigh the pros and cons of parallel theories at an early stage in their HEP journey. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=HEP" title="HEP">HEP</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=particle%20physics" title=" particle physics"> particle physics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=standard%20model" title=" standard model"> standard model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tri-Preon%20model" title=" Tri-Preon model"> Tri-Preon model</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/165666/extending-early-high-energy-physics-studies-with-a-tri-preon-model" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/165666.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">73</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">20797</span> A Comparative Analysis of E-Government Quality Models</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Abdoullah%20Fath-Allah">Abdoullah Fath-Allah</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Laila%20Cheikhi"> Laila Cheikhi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rafa%20E.%20Al-Qutaish"> Rafa E. Our findings show that, there is no e-government portal quality model based on the new international standard ISO 25010. Therefore, the Diffie-Hellmann (DH) algorithm is more vulnerable than ever. No mechanism guarantees the security of the key exchange, so if an intermediary manages to intercept it, it is easy to intercept. In this regard, several studies have been conducted to improve the security of key exchange between two interlocutors, which has led to interesting results. The modification made on our model Diffie-Hellman-RSA-AES (DRA), which encrypts the information exchanged between two users using the three-encryption algorithms DH, RSA and AES, by using stenographic photos to hide the contents of the p, g and ClesAES values that are sent in an unencrypted state at the level of DRA model to calculate each user's public key. This work includes a comparative study between the DRA model and all existing solutions, as well as the modification made to this model, with an emphasis on the aspect of reliability in terms of security. This study presents a simulation to demonstrate the effectiveness of the modification made to the DRA model. The obtained results show that our model has a security advantage over the existing solution, so we made these changes to reinforce the security of the DRA model. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Diffie-Hellmann" title="Diffie-Hellmann">Diffie-Hellmann</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=DRA" title=" DRA"> DRA</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=RSA" title=" RSA"> RSA</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=advanced%20encryption%20standard" title=" advanced encryption standard"> advanced encryption standard</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/157930/the-effectiveness-of-a-hybrid-diffie-hellman-rsa-advanced-encryption-standard-model" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/157930.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">93</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">20794</span> Simplified 3R2C Building Thermal Network Model: A Case Study</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=S.%20M.%20Mahbobur%20Rahman">S. The thermal response of a building can also be modeled using a network of interconnected resistors (R) and capacitors (C) at each node called R-C network. In this study, a model building, Case 600, as described in the &ldquo;Standard Method of Test for the Evaluation of Building Energy Analysis Computer Program&rdquo;, ASHRAE standard 140, is studied along with a 3R2C thermal network model and the ASHRAE clear sky solar radiation model. Although building an energy model involves two important parts of building component i.e., the envelope and internal mass, the effect of building internal mass is not considered in this study. All the characteristic parameters of the building envelope are evaluated as on Case 600. Finally, monthly building energy consumption from the thermal network model is compared with a simple-box energy model within reasonable accuracy. From the results, 0.6-9.4% variation of monthly energy consumption is observed because of the south-facing windows. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ASHRAE%20case%20study" title="ASHRAE case study">ASHRAE case study</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=clear%20sky%20solar%20radiation%20model" title=" clear sky solar radiation model"> clear sky solar radiation model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=energy%20modeling" title=" energy modeling"> energy modeling</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=thermal%20network%20model" title=" thermal network model"> thermal network model</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/106581/simplified-3r2c-building-thermal-network-model-a-case-study" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/106581.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">146</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">20793</span> Wind Wave Modeling Using MIKE 21 SW Spectral Model</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Pouya%20Molana">Pouya Molana</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Zeinab%20Alimohammadi"> Zeinab Alimohammadi</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Determining wind wave characteristics is essential for implementing projects related to Coastal and Marine engineering such as designing coastal and marine structures, estimating sediment transport rates and coastal erosion rates in order to predict significant wave height (H_s), this study applies the third generation spectral wave model, Mike 21 SW, along with CEM model. Whereas, the difference ratio mean, standard deviation and correlation coefficient in The Choice Experiment Method (CEM) for the same parameter are 0.869, 1.317 and 0.8359, respectively. A circular vertical spillway with various inlet forms is very effective when there is not enough space for the other spillway. Hydraulic flow in a vertical circular spillway is divided into three groups: free, orifice, and under pressure (submerged). In this research, the hydraulic flow characteristics of a Circular Vertical Spillway are investigated with the CFD model. Two-dimensional unsteady RANS equations were solved numerically using Finite Volume Method. The PISO scheme was applied for the velocity-pressure coupling. The mostly used two-equation turbulence models, k-ε and k-ω, were chosen to model Reynolds shear stress term. The power law scheme was used for the discretization of momentum, k, ε, and ω equations. The VOF method (geometrically reconstruction algorithm) was adopted for interface simulation. In this study, three types of computational grids (coarse, intermediate, and fine) were used to discriminate the simulation environment. In order to simulate the flow, the k-ε (Standard, RNG, Realizable) and k-ω (standard and SST) models were used. Also, in order to find the best wall function, two types, standard wall, and non-equilibrium wall function, were investigated. The laminar model did not produce satisfactory flow depth and velocity along the Morning-Glory spillway. The results of the most commonly used two-equation turbulence models (k-ε and k-ω) were identical. Furthermore, the standard wall function produced better results compared to the non-equilibrium wall function. Thus, for other simulations, the standard k-ε with the standard wall function was preferred. The comparison criterion in this study is also the trajectory profile of jet water. The results show that the fine computational grid, the input speed condition for the flow input boundary, and the output pressure for the boundaries that are in contact with the air provide the best possible results. Also, the standard wall function is chosen for the effect of the wall function, and the turbulent model k-ε (Standard) has the most consistent results with experimental results. When the jet gets closer to the end of the basin, the computational results increase with the numerical results of their differences. The mesh with 10602 nodes, turbulent model k-ε standard and the standard wall function, provide the best results for modeling the flow in a vertical circular Spillway. There was a good agreement between numerical and experimental results in the upper and lower nappe profiles. In the study of water level over crest and discharge, in low water levels, the results of numerical modeling are good agreement with the experimental, but with the increasing water level, the difference between the numerical and experimental discharge is more. In the study of the flow coefficient, by decreasing in P/R ratio, the difference between the numerical and experimental result increases. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=circular%20vertical" title="circular vertical">circular vertical</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=spillway" title=" spillway"> spillway</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=numerical%20model" title=" numerical model"> numerical model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=boundary%20conditions" title=" boundary conditions"> boundary conditions</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/167065/simulation-of-the-flow-in-a-circular-vertical-spillway-using-a-numerical-model" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/167065.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">86</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">20791</span> Structure Function and Violation of Scale Invariance in NCSM: Theory and Numerical Analysis</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=M.%20R.%20Bekli">M. Three-dimensional meshes, based on hexahedral cells, were generated. The QUICK scheme was employed to discretize the convective term in the transport equations. The SIMPLE algorithm was adopted to treat the velocity-pressure coupling. The flow structure obtained showed interesting features such as recirculation zones and counter-rotating pairs of vortices. The performance of three different turbulence models was evaluated: the standard k- ω model, the SST k-ω model and the Reynolds Stress Model (RSM). Overall, it was found that, the multi-equation model performed better than the two equation models. In fact, the existence of four pairs of counter rotating cells, in the straight duct upstream of the bend, were predicted by the RSM closure but not by the standard eddy viscosity model nor the SST k-ω model. The system utilizes Kaldi toolkit as the platform to the entire library and algorithm used in performing the ASR task. The acoustic model implemented in this system uses a deep neural network (DNN) method to model the acoustic signal and the standard (n-gram) model for language modelling. With 80 hours of training data from the call centre recordings, the ASR system can achieve 72% of accuracy that corresponds to 28% of word error rate (WER). The testing was done using 20 hours of audio data. Despite the implementation of DNN, the system shows a low accuracy owing to the varieties of noises, accent and dialect that typically occurs in Malaysian call centre environment. This significant variation of speakers is reflected by the large standard deviation of the average word error rate (WERav) (i.e., ~ 10%). It is observed that the lowest WER (13.8%) was obtained from recording sample with a standard Malay dialect (central Malaysia) of native speaker as compared to 49% of the sample with the highest WER that contains conversation of the speaker that uses non-standard Malay dialect. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=conversational%20speech%20recognition" title="conversational speech recognition">conversational speech recognition</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=deep%20neural%20network" title=" deep neural network"> deep neural network</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Malay%20language" title=" Malay language"> Malay language</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=speech%20recognition" title=" speech recognition"> speech recognition</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/93292/an-automatic-speech-recognition-of-conversational-telephone-speech-in-malay-language" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/93292.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">322</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">20788</span> The Profit Trend of Cosmetics Products Using Bootstrap Edgeworth Approximation</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Edlira%20Donefski">Edlira Donefski</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lorenc%20Ekonomi"> Lorenc Ekonomi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tina%20Donefski"> Tina Donefski</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Edgeworth approximation is one of the most important statistical methods that has a considered contribution in the reduction of the sum of standard deviation of the independent variables&rsquo; coefficients in a Quantile Regression Model. This model estimates the conditional median or other quantiles. In this paper, we have applied approximating statistical methods in an economical problem. We have created and generated a quantile regression model to see how the profit gained is connected with the realized sales of the cosmetic products in a real data, taken from a local business. The Linear Regression of the generated profit and the realized sales was not free of autocorrelation and heteroscedasticity, so this is the reason that we have used this model instead of Linear Regression. Our aim is to analyze in more details the relation between the variables taken into study: the profit and the finalized sales and how to minimize the standard errors of the independent variable involved in this study, the level of realized sales. The statistical methods that we have applied in our work are Edgeworth Approximation for Independent and Identical distributed (IID) cases, Bootstrap version of the Model and the Edgeworth approximation for Bootstrap Quantile Regression Model. The graphics and the results that we have presented here identify the best approximating model of our study. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=bootstrap" title="bootstrap">bootstrap</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=edgeworth%20approximation" title=" edgeworth approximation"> edgeworth approximation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=IID" title=" IID"> IID</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=quantile" title=" quantile"> quantile</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/135144/the-profit-trend-of-cosmetics-products-using-bootstrap-edgeworth-approximation" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/135144.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">159</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">20787</span> Reliability Prediction of Tires Using Linear Mixed-Effects Model</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Myung%20Hwan%20Na">Myung Hwan Na</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ho-%20Chun%20Song"> Ho- Chun Song</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=EunHee%20Hong"> EunHee Hong</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> We widely use normal linear mixed-effects model to analysis data in repeated measurement. However, physical sensors can be inaccurate, heavy, cumbersome, expensive, or highly sensitive to vibrations, which is especially problematic when embedded into an aircraft. The conception of a virtual sensor, based on other standard sensors, is a good alternative. This paper has two main objectives. Firstly, a data-driven model using a convolutional neural network is proposed to estimate the mass flow of the compressor. We show that it significantly outperforms the standard polynomial regression model (thermodynamic maps) in terms of the standard MSE metric and engineer performance metrics. Secondly, a semi-automatic segmentation method is proposed to compute the engineer performance metrics for real datasets, as the standard MSE metric may pose risks in analyzing the dynamic behavior of vapor cycle systems. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=deep%20learning" title="deep learning">deep learning</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=convolutional%20neural%20network" title=" convolutional neural network"> convolutional neural network</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=vapor%20cycle%20system" title=" vapor cycle system"> vapor cycle system</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=virtual%20sensor" title=" virtual sensor"> virtual sensor</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/172176/cnn-based-compressor-mass-flow-estimator-in-industrial-aircraft-vapor-cycle-system" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/172176.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">61</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">20785</span> Robust Speed Sensorless Control to Estimated Error for PMa-SynRM</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kyoung-Jin%20Joo">Kyoung-Jin Joo</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=In-Gun%20Kim"> In-Gun Kim</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hyun-Seok%20Hong"> Hyun-Seok Hong</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Dong-Woo%20Kang"> Dong-Woo Kang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ju%20Lee"> Ju Lee</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Recently, the permanent magnet-assisted synchronous reluctance motor (PMa-SynRM) that can be substituted for the induction motor has been studying because of the needs of the development of the premium high efficiency motor for the minimum energy performance standard (MEPS). These kinds of services are provided by the internal service provider (inside the enterprise) or external service provider (outside enterprise). To deliver quality information technology services, the service provider (which from now on will be called ‘organization’) either internal or external, must have a standard for service management system. At present, the standard that is recognized as best practice for service management system for the organization is international standard ISO/IEC 20000:2011. The most important part of this international standard is the first part or ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011-Service Management System Requirement, because it contains 22 for organization processes as a requirement to be implemented in an organizational environment in order to build, manage and deliver quality service to the customer. Assessing organization management processes is the first step to implementing ISO/IEC 20000:2011 into the organization management processes. This assessment needs Process Assessment Model (PAM) as an assessment instrument. PAM comprises two parts: Process Reference Model (PRM) and Measurement Framework (MF). PRM is built by transforming the 22 process of ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011 and MF is based on ISO/IEC 33020. This assessment instrument was designed to assess the capability of service management process in Divisi Teknologi dan Sistem Informasi (Information Systems and Technology Division) as an internal organization of PT Pos Indonesia. The result of this assessment model can be proposed to improve the capability of service management system. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ISO%2FIEC%2020000-1%3A2011" title="ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011">ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ISO%2FIEC%2033020%3A2015" title=" ISO/IEC 33020:2015"> ISO/IEC 33020:2015</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=process%20assessment" title=" process assessment"> process assessment</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=process%20capability" title=" process capability"> process capability</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=service%20management%20system" title=" service management system"> service management system</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/66989/process-assessment-model-for-process-capability-determination-based-on-isoiec-20000-12011" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/66989.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">465</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">20783</span> Dry Friction Fluctuations in Plain Journal Bearings</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=James%20Moran">James Moran</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Anusarn%20Permsuwan"> Anusarn Permsuwan</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This paper compares oscillations in the dry friction coefficient in different journal bearings. During the process of 3D human body reconstruction, the correct selection of standard templates was crucial for obtaining accurate results. To address this issue, we developed an efficient gender classification algorithm to automatically select the appropriate template for 3D human body reconstruction. The key to this gender classification algorithm was the precise analysis of human body features. By using the SMPL-X model, the algorithm could detect and identify gender features of the human body, thereby determining which standard template should be used. The accuracy of this algorithm made the 3D reconstruction process more accurate and reliable, as it could adjust model parameters based on individual gender differences. SMPL-X and the related gender classification algorithm have brought important advancements to the field of 3D human body reconstruction. By accurately selecting standard templates, they have improved the accuracy of reconstruction and have broad potential in various application fields. These technologies continue to drive the development of the 3D reconstruction field, providing us with more realistic and accurate human body models. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=gender%20classification" title="gender classification">gender classification</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=joint%20detection" title=" joint detection"> joint detection</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=SMPL-X" title=" SMPL-X"> SMPL-X</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=3D%20reconstruction" title=" 3D reconstruction"> 3D reconstruction</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/173842/3d-reconstruction-of-human-body-based-on-gender-classification" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/173842.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">70</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">20781</span> Quantification of the Variables of the Information Model for the Use of School Terminology from 1884 to 2014 in Dalmatia</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Vinko%20Vidu%C4%8Di%C4%87">Vinko Vidučić</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tanja%20Bre%C5%A1an%20An%C4%8Di%C4%87"> Tanja Brešan Ančić</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Marijana%20Tomeli%C4%87%20%C4%86urlin"> Marijana Tomelić Ćurlin</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Prior to quantifying the variables of the information model for using school terminology in Croatia's region of Dalmatia from 1884 to 2014, the most relevant model variables had to be determined: historical circumstances, standard of living, education system, linguistic situation, and media. The research findings show that there was no significant transfer of the 1884 school terms into 1949 usage; likewise, the 1949 school terms were not widely used in 2014. Although new in-situ methods with high accuracy have been developed, standard penetration test, the simplest and the oldest in-situ test, is still used due to the profusion of the recorded data. This paper reviews the Iranian standard of evaluating liquefaction potential in soils (codes 525) and compares the liquefaction assessment methods based on SPT results on cohesionless soil in this standard with the international standards. To this, methods for assessing liquefaction potential which are presented by Cetin et al. (2004), Boulanger and Idriss (2014) are compared with what is presented in standard 525. It is found that although the procedure used in Iranian standard of evaluating the potential of liquefaction has not been updated according to the new findings, it is a conservative procedure. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cohesionless%20soil" title="cohesionless soil">cohesionless soil</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=liquefaction" title=" liquefaction"> liquefaction</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=SPT" title=" SPT"> SPT</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=standard%20525" title=" standard 525"> standard 525</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/133623/evaluation-of-iranian-standard-for-assessment-of-liquefaction-potential-of-cohesionless-soils-based-on-spt" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/133623.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">170</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">20779</span> Combining the Dynamic Conditional Correlation and Range-GARCH Models to Improve Covariance Forecasts</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Piotr%20Fiszeder">Piotr Fiszeder</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Marcin%20Fa%C5%82dzi%C5%84ski"> Marcin Fałdziński</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Peter%20Moln%C3%A1r"> Peter Molnár</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The dynamic conditional correlation model of Engle (2002) is one of the most popular multivariate volatility models. However, this model is based solely on closing prices. It has been documented in the literature that the high and low price of the day can be used in an efficient volatility estimation. We, therefore, suggest a model which incorporates high and low prices into the dynamic conditional correlation framework. Empirical evaluation of this model is conducted on three datasets: currencies, stocks, and commodity exchange-traded funds. The utilisation of realized variances and covariances as proxies for true variances and covariances allows us to reach a strong conclusion that our model outperforms not only the standard dynamic conditional correlation model but also a competing range-based dynamic conditional correlation model. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=volatility" title="volatility">volatility</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=DCC%20model" title=" DCC model"> DCC model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=high%20and%20low%20prices" title=" high and low prices"> high and low prices</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=range-based%20models" title=" range-based models"> range-based models</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=covariance%20forecasting" title=" covariance forecasting"> covariance forecasting</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/107388/combining-the-dynamic-conditional-correlation-and-range-garch-models-to-improve-covariance-forecasts" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/107388.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">183</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">20778</span> Enhancing Model Interoperability and Reuse by Designing and Developing a Unified Metamodel Standard</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Arash%20Gharibi">Arash Gharibi</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Mankind has always used models to solve problems. Essentially, models are simplified versions of reality, whose need stems from having to deal with complexity; many processes or phenomena are too complex to be described completely. Thus a fundamental model requirement is that it contains the characteristic features that are essential in the context of the problem to be solved or described. Models are used in virtually every scientific domain to deal with various problems. During the recent decades, the number of models has increased exponentially. Publication of models as part of original research has traditionally been in in scientific periodicals, series, monographs, agency reports, national journals and laboratory reports. This makes it difficult for interested groups and communities to stay informed about the state-of-the-art. During the modeling process, many important decisions are made which impact the final form of the model. Without a record of these considerations, the final model remains ill-defined and open to varying interpretations. Unfortunately, the details of these considerations are often lost or in case there is any existing information about a model, it is likely to be written intuitively in different layouts and in different degrees of detail. In order to overcome these issues, different domains have attempted to implement their own approaches to preserve their models’ information in forms of model documentation. The most frequently cited model documentation approaches show that they are domain specific, not to applicable to the existing models and evolutionary flexibility and intrinsic corrections and improvements are not possible with the current approaches. These issues are all because of a lack of unified standards for model documentation. As a way forward, this research will propose a new standard for capturing and managing models’ information in a unified way so that interoperability and reusability of models become possible. This standard will also be evolutionary, meaning members of modeling realm could contribute to its ongoing developments and improvements. In this paper, the current 3 of the most common metamodels are reviewed and according to pros and cons of each, a new metamodel is proposed. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=metamodel" title="metamodel">metamodel</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=modeling" title=" modeling"> modeling</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=interoperability" title=" interoperability"> interoperability</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=reuse" title=" reuse"> reuse</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/64372/enhancing-model-interoperability-and-reuse-by-designing-and-developing-a-unified-metamodel-standard" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/64372.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">198</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">20777</span> Process Modeling and Problem Solving: Connecting Two Worlds by BPMN</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Gionata%20Carmignani">Gionata Carmignani</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mario%20G.%20C.%20A.%20Cimino"> Mario G. In last year’s, the BP Model and Notation (BPMN) has become a de-facto standard for modeling processes. However, this standard does not incorporate explicitly the Problem-Solving (PS) knowledge in the Process Modeling (PM) results. Thus, such knowledge cannot be shared or reused. To narrow this gap is today a challenging research area. In this paper we present a framework able to capture the PS knowledge and to improve a workflow. This framework extends the BPMN specification by incorporating new general-purpose elements. A pilot scenario is also presented and discussed. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=business%20process%20management"
