Are we to continue<MG1961> in sin<MG266> so<MG2443> that<MG2443> grace<MG5485> may increase<MG4121>? <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/6-2.htm"><b>2</b></a></span><span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[a]</a></span>Far<MG3361> from<MG3361> it! How<MG4459> shall we who<MG3748> died<MG599> to sin<MG266> still<MG2089> live<MG2198> in it? <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/6-3.htm"><b>3</b></a></span>Or<MG2228> do you not know<MG50> that all<MG3745> of us who<MG3745> have been baptized<MG907> into Christ<MG5547> Jesus<MG2424> have been baptized<MG907> into His death<MG2288>? <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/6-4.htm"><b>4</b></a></span>Therefore<MG3767> we have been buried<MG4916> with Him through<MG1223> baptism<MG908> into death<MG2288>, so<MG2443> that<MG2443>, just<MG5618> as Christ<MG5547> was raised<MG1453> from the dead<MG3498> through<MG1223> the glory<MG1391> of the Father<MG3962>, so<MG3779> we too<MG2532> may walk<MG4043> in newness<MG2538> of life<MG2222>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/6-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span>For if<MG1487> we have become<MG1096> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[b]</a></span>united<MG4854> with <i>Him</i> in the likeness<MG3667> of His death<MG2288>, certainly<MG235> we shall also<MG2532> be <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[c]</a></span><i>in the likeness</i> of His resurrection<MG386>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/6-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>knowing<MG1097> this<MG3778>, that our old<MG3820> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[d]</a></span>self<MG444> was crucified<MG4957> with <i>Him,</i> in<MG2443> order<MG2443> that<MG2443> our body<MG4983> of sin<MG266> might be <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[e]</a></span>done<MG2673> away<MG2673> with<MG2673>, so that we would no<MG3371> longer<MG3371> be slaves<MG1398> to sin<MG266>; <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/6-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>for the one who has died<MG599> is <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[f]</a></span>freed<MG1344> from sin<MG266>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/6-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>Now<MG1161> if<MG1487> we have died<MG599> with Christ<MG5547>, we believe<MG4100> that we shall also<MG2532> live<MG4800> with Him, <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/6-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>knowing<MG3609a> that Christ<MG5547>, having been raised<MG1453> from the dead<MG3498>, <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[g]</a></span>is never<MG3765> to die<MG599> again<MG3765>; death<MG2288> no<MG3765> longer<MG3765> is master<MG2961> over<MG2961> Him. <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/6-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>For <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[h]</a></span>the death that He died<MG599>, He died<MG599> to sin<MG266> once<MG2178> for<MG2178> all<MG2178> <i>time;</i> but <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[i]</a></span>the life that He lives<MG2198>, He lives<MG2198> to <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[j]</a></span>God<MG2316>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/6-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>So<MG3779> you too<MG2532>, consider<MG3049> yourselves<MG1438> to be dead<MG3498> to sin<MG266>, but alive<MG2198> to God<MG2316> in Christ<MG5547> Jesus<MG2424>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/6-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>Therefore<MG3767> sin<MG266> is not to reign<MG936> in your mortal<MG2349> body<MG4983> so<MG1519> that<MG1519> you obey<MG5219> its lusts<MG1939>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/6-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>and do not go on presenting<MG3936> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[k]</a></span>the parts<MG3196> of your body to sin<MG266> <i>as</i> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[l]</a></span>instruments<MG3696> of unrighteousness<MG93>; but present<MG3936> yourselves<MG1438> to God<MG2316> as those who are<MG2198> alive<MG2198> from the dead<MG3498>, and <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[m]</a></span>your body&#8217;s parts<MG3196> <i>as</i> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[n]</a></span>instruments<MG3696> of righteousness<MG1343> for God<MG2316>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/6-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>For sin<MG266> shall not be master<MG2961> over<MG2961> you, for you are not under<MG5259> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[o]</a></span>the Law<MG3551> but under<MG5259> grace<MG5485>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/6-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>What<MG5101> then<MG3767>? For just<MG5618> as you presented<MG3936> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[w]</a></span>the parts<MG3196> of your body as slaves<MG1400> to impurity<MG167> and to lawlessness<MG458>, <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[x]</a></span>resulting<MG1519> in<MG1519> <i>further</i> lawlessness<MG458>, so<MG3779> now<MG3568> present<MG3936> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[y]</a></span>your body&#8217;s parts<MG3196> as slaves<MG1400> to righteousness<MG1343>, <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[z]</a></span>resulting<MG1519> in<MG1519> sanctification<MG38>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/6-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>For when<MG3753> you were slaves<MG1401> of sin<MG266>, you were free<MG1658> in relation to righteousness<MG1343>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/romans/6-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span>Therefore<MG3767> what<MG5101> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[aa]</a></span>benefit<MG2590> were you then<MG5119> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[ab]</a></span>deriving<MG2192> from the things of which<MG3739> you are<MG1870> now<MG3568> ashamed<MG1870>?
