It continues to be published today by Alliance Printers & Publishers of Chicago. <a title="http://www.polishdailynews.com/" href="http://www.polishdailynews.com/">http://www.polishdailynews.com/</a> </p> <p>The PNA was formed in 1880 as an organization dedicated to uniting the efforts of Poles in the U.S. to achieve Poland鈥檚 independence from Russia, Germany, and Austria-Hungary and to advance their community into American society. The period from 1900 to 1920 saw a dramatic rise in PNA membership. The founding of <em>Dziennik Zwiazkowy</em> in 1908 reflects the size, strength, and increasing influence of this growing community. </p> <p>The early years of <em>Dziennik Zwiazkowy</em> coincide with an important time in the history of the city, state, and nation. The PNA initiated, and <em>Dziennik Zwiazkowy </em>supported, numerous programs to help newly arrived Poles find jobs, housing, schools, and more. The PNA along with many Chicago Poles were at the forefront of the struggle for workers' rights and the union movement.
