and you shall use<MH1961> them for summoning<MH4744> the congregation<MH5712> and breaking<MH4550> camp<MH4264>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/10-3.htm"><b>3</b></a></span>Now when both<MH1992a> are blown<MH8628>, all<MH3605> the congregation<MH5712> shall meet<MH3259> you at the entrance<MH6607> of the tent<MH168> of meeting<MH4150>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/10-4.htm"><b>4</b></a></span>But if<MH518> <i>only</i> one<MH259> is blown<MH8628>, then the leaders<MH5387a>, the heads<MH7218> of the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[a]</a></span>divisions<MH505> of Israel<MH3478>, shall meet<MH3259> you. <span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/10-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span>And when you blow<MH8628> an alarm<MH8643>, the camps<MH4264> that are pitched<MH2583> on the east<MH6924b> side<MH6924b> shall set<MH5265> out<MH5265>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/10-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>Then when you sound<MH8628> an alarm<MH8643> the second<MH8145> time<MH8145>, the camps<MH4264> that are pitched<MH2583> on the south<MH8486> side<MH8486> shall set<MH5265> out<MH5265>; an alarm<MH8643> is to be sounded<MH8628> for them to break<MH4550> camp<MH4550>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/10-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>When convening<MH6950> the assembly<MH6951>, however, you shall blow<MH8628> <i>the trumpets</i> without<MH3808> sounding<MH7321> an<MH7321> alarm<MH7321>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/10-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>The sons<MH1121> of Aaron<MH175>, moreover, the priests<MH3548>, shall blow<MH8628> the trumpets<MH2689>; and <i>this</i> shall be a permanent<MH5769> statute<MH2708> for you throughout your generations<MH1755>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/10-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>And when<MH3588> you go<MH935> to war<MH4421> in your land<MH776> against<MH5921> the enemy<MH6862c> who attacks<MH6887c> you, then you shall sound<MH7321> an<MH7321> alarm<MH7321> with the trumpets<MH2689>, so that you will be thought<MH2142> of<MH2142> by the LORD<MH3068> your God<MH430>, and be saved<MH3467> from your enemies<MH340>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/10-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>Also on the day<MH3117> of your joy<MH8057> and at your appointed<MH4150> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[b]</a></span>feasts<MH4150>, and on the first<MH7218> <i>days</i> of your months<MH2320>, you shall blow<MH8628> the trumpets<MH2689> over<MH5921> your burnt<MH5930a> offerings<MH5930a>, and over<MH5921> the sacrifices<MH2077> of your peace<MH8002> offerings<MH8002>; and they shall be as a reminder<MH2146> of you before<MH6440> your God<MH430>. I am the LORD<MH3068> your God<MH430>.” <p class="hdg">The Tribes Leave Sinai</p><p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/10-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>Now in the second<MH8145> year<MH8141>, in the second<MH8145> month<MH2320>, on the twentieth<MH6242> of the month<MH2320>, the cloud<MH6051> was lifted<MH5927> from above<MH5921> the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[c]</a></span>tabernacle<MH4908> of the testimony<MH5715>; <span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/10-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>and the sons<MH1121> of Israel<MH3478> set<MH5265> out<MH5265> on their journeys<MH4550> from the wilderness<MH4057b> of Sinai<MH5514>. Then the cloud<MH6051> settled<MH7931> in the wilderness<MH4057b> of Paran<MH6290>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/10-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>So they moved<MH5265> on<MH5265> for the first<MH7223> time<MH7223> in<MH5921> accordance<MH5921> with<MH5921> the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[d]</a></span>command<MH6310> of the LORD<MH3068> through<MH3027> Moses<MH4872>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/10-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>The <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[e]</a></span>flag<MH1714> of the camp<MH4264> of the sons<MH1121> of Judah<MH3063>, by their armies<MH6635>, set<MH5265> out<MH5265> first<MH7223>, with Nahshon<MH5177> the son<MH1121> of Amminadab<MH5992>, over<MH5921> its army<MH6635>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/10-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>and Nethanel<MH5417> the son<MH1121> of Zuar<MH6686>, over<MH5921> the tribal<MH4294> army<MH6635> of the sons<MH1121> of Issachar<MH3485>; <span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/10-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>and Eliab<MH446> the son<MH1121> of Helon<MH2497> over<MH5921> the tribal<MH4294> army<MH6635> of the sons<MH1121> of Zebulun<MH2074>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/10-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>Then the tabernacle<MH4908> was taken<MH3381> down<MH3381>; and the sons<MH1121> of Gershon<MH1648> and the sons<MH1121> of Merari<MH4847>, who were carrying<MH5375> the tabernacle<MH4908>, set<MH5265> out<MH5265>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/10-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>Next the flag<MH1714> of the camp<MH4264> of Reuben<MH7205>, by their armies<MH6635>, set<MH5265> out<MH5265> with Elizur<MH468> the son<MH1121> of Shedeur<MH7707>, over<MH5921> its army<MH6635>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/10-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>and Shelumiel<MH8017> the son<MH1121> of Zurishaddai<MH6701a> over<MH5921> the tribal<MH4294> army<MH6635> of the sons<MH1121> of Simeon<MH8095>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/10-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>and Eliasaph<MH460> the son<MH1121> of Deuel<MH1845> was over<MH5921> the tribal<MH4294> army<MH6635> of the sons<MH1121> of Gad<MH1410>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/10-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span>Then the Kohathites<MH6956> set<MH5265> out<MH5265>, carrying<MH5375> the holy<MH4720> <i>objects;</i> and the tabernacle<MH4908> was set<MH6965> up<MH6965> before<MH5704> their arrival<MH935>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/10-22.htm"><b>22</b></a></span>Next the flag<MH1714> of the camp<MH4264> of the sons<MH1121> of Ephraim<MH669>, by their armies<MH6635>, set<MH5265> out<MH5265>, with Elishama<MH476> the son<MH1121> of Ammihud<MH5989> over<MH5921> its army<MH6635>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/10-23.htm"><b>23</b></a></span>and Gamaliel<MH1583> the son<MH1121> of Pedahzur<MH6301> over<MH5921> the tribal<MH4294> army<MH6635> of the sons<MH1121> of Manasseh<MH4519>; <span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/10-24.htm"><b>24</b></a></span>and Abidan<MH27> the son<MH1121> of Gideoni<MH1441> over<MH5921> the tribal<MH4294> army<MH6635> of the sons<MH1121> of Benjamin<MH1144>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/10-25.htm"><b>25</b></a></span>Then the flag<MH1714> of the camp<MH4264> of the sons<MH1121> of Dan<MH1835>, by their armies<MH6635>, <i>which</i> formed<MH622> the<MH622> rear<MH622> guard<MH622> for all<MH3605> the camps<MH4264>, set<MH5265> out<MH5265>, with Ahiezer<MH295> the son<MH1121> of Ammishaddai<MH5996> over<MH5921> its army<MH6635>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/numbers/10-26.htm"><b>26</b></a></span>and Pagiel<MH6295> the son<MH1121> of Ochran<MH5918> over<MH5921> the tribal<MH4294> army<MH6635> of the sons<MH1121> of Asher<MH836>;
