<p>　前にこのブログで、「同じ道を歩いて帰る人より、いろんな道を歩いて帰る人の方が幸福感が高い」という話を取り上げたことがあったと思う。要は、同じことばっかりしているより違う道を歩いて異なる景色を見た方が良いだろうって話なのだが、この議論には異議を唱えたい前提があるなと最近思う。そんなに大したことではないのだが、「同じ道」と言うとき、この設定ではまるで一つの道が何の変化もないかのように取り扱われている。しかし「同じ道」は四季の彩だけでなく、意外と細かく見ていくと変わったりしているものじゃないか、と思うのだ。</p> <p>　先日、久々に沖縄に行ってきた。<a class="keyword" href="https://d.hatena.ne.jp/keyword/%C6%E1%C7%C6">那覇</a>で２泊。友人からは「<a class="keyword" href="https://d.hatena.ne.jp/keyword/%C6%E1%C7%C6">那覇</a>だけで２泊は絶対に飽きるぞ」と言われていたのだが、確かに<a class="keyword" href="https://d.hatena.ne.jp/keyword/%B9%F1%BA%DD%C4%CC%A4%EA">国際通り</a>を冷かして、二日目はちょっと足を延ばして<a class="keyword" href="https://d.hatena.ne.jp/keyword/%BC%F3%CE%A4%BE%EB">首里城</a>へ、と言っても、結局<a class="keyword" href="https://d.hatena.ne.jp/keyword/%C6%E1%C7%C6">那覇</a>の当たりだと家族を連れて歩き回るにも限界がある。結局三日間同じような所を歩きつづけていたのだが、それでも毎日いろいろな発見があった。</p> <p>　たとえば三日間歩き続けていて、二日目まではなかったものが三日目にはあるかもしれない。三日目にぶらついていると、沖縄の田芋屋さん（そんなのあるんだ！）が開いていて、そこで蒸した田芋を購入していろいろお話を聞かせてもらった。有名な<a class="keyword" href="https://d.hatena.ne.jp/keyword/%CB%D2%BB%D6">牧志</a>の公設市場でも、数日通うと同じ店でも愛想の良い人と不愛想な人がいたり、公設市場のTシャツがあることに気づかされたりする。当たり前のことかもしれないが、「同じ道」は案外同じではないのだ。そこに面白みを見いだせるなら、十分幸せでいられる。</p> <p>　そして、知らない土地で短い間でも「変わらないもの」を見つけるのもなかなか楽しい。東京ご出身の方が営まれている<a class="keyword" href="https://d.hatena.ne.jp/keyword/%B8%C5%BD%F1%C5%B9">古書店</a>があるのだが、三日間、いつ行ってもパソコンと向き合っていて、きりっとした雰囲気を漂わせていた。きっと一年後窺っても、あの人はあそこに座ってパソコンを見つめているんだなと思うと、なかなか面白い。よく言うのだが、「変わりゆくもの」を安心して楽しむには「変わらないもの」がどっしり構えていないといけない。また同じ道を歩くときに、「変わりゆくもの」は目に新しい喜びと変わってしまった寂しさに、「変わらないもの」は懐かしさになるのだろう。</p> <p>　家から徒歩1分くらいのところに、そこそこ大きな商店街がある。端から端まで歩けば10分くらいだろうか。昔はもっと南にあったのだが、戦争で建物<a class="keyword" href="https://d.hatena.ne.jp/keyword/%C1%C2%B3%AB">疎開</a>が行われ、旧商店街は現在では国道となっている。東西の中央通り商店街に南北のもう少し小規模な商店街がクロスしていて、かつては大変なにぎわいで、お正月前ともなる富動きができないほどの人混みだったという。</p> <p>　私が今の町に住みはじめてもう15年は経つが、商店街は少しずつ活気を失っている。昔から愛されているお店がどんどん閉まっていくし、いわゆる「<a class="keyword" href="https://d.hatena.ne.jp/keyword/%A5%B7%A5%E3%A5%C3%A5%BF%A1%BC%BE%A6%C5%B9%B3%B9">シャッター商店街</a>」化が進んでいるところもある。お店が新しくできたとしてもチェーンの居酒屋ができることが多く、個人商店は高齢化が進んでいる印象だ。そして地方都市の商店街ではよくあることだが、売っているものがしょぼい。コスメにしろ洋服にしろフライパンにしろ、「ちょっと入ってみようかな」というお店がなかなかないのだ。</p> <p>　ただ、昨日、そんな地元の商店街を見直す出来事があった。きっかけはよく行く<a class="keyword" href="https://d.hatena.ne.jp/keyword/%A4%AA%B9%A5%A4%DF%BE%C6">お好み焼</a>き屋さんに「あの店が美味しい」とお店を教えてもらい、商店街で色々買って夕食にしようと提案したことだった。それから商店街にあるお店を思い出してみると、意外と色々ある。買おうと思うものはなかなかないといったものの、グルメに関してはなかなか見どころのある商店街なのである。</p> <p>　<a class="keyword" href="https://d.hatena.ne.jp/keyword/%A4%AA%B9%A5%A4%DF%BE%C6">お好み焼</a>き屋さんに教えてもらったお店はいわゆる「立ち飲み」なのだが、店頭でチヂミやキムチを売っている。キュウリと<a class="keyword" href="https://d.hatena.ne.jp/keyword/%A5%A4%A5%AB">イカ</a>を買ってみたが、このキムチがなかなか美味しい。韓国系の人が多い地域でキムチを売るお店もたくさんあるのだが、そのなかでもあまり辛くないもののコクとうまみがあって、とても美味しい。キンパも、買うときにごま油を塗ってくれるので、風味がある。それからもう一軒韓国系のお店（いつもすりごまを買うのだ）に行こうと思ったのだが目当ての豚がなかったので、その近くにある沖縄系の豚屋さんへ。<a class="keyword" href="https://d.hatena.ne.jp/keyword/%A5%DF%A5%DF%A5%AC%A1%BC">ミミガー</a>も捨てがたいが、シンプルに蒸し豚を買った。それから豚足を焼いてみようと思い注文したのだが、これがめちゃくちゃでかい。ちなみにこのお店のすぐ北には、元<a class="keyword" href="https://d.hatena.ne.jp/keyword/%CD%CE%C9%FE%B2%B0">洋服屋</a>さんのコーヒーとスイーツのお店があって、リーズナブルかつ優しい甘さでコーヒーのラインナップも豊富。店主の趣味で店内はカウンターまで<a class="keyword" href="https://d.hatena.ne.jp/keyword/%A5%A2%A5%E1%A5%EA">アメリ</a>カ系のおもちゃで溢れて<a class="keyword" href="https://d.hatena.ne.jp/keyword/%A5%D5%A5%A1%A1%BC%A5%D3%A1%BC">ファービー</a>なんて何体いるのか分からないくらい。とても楽しい店だ。</p> <p>　豚を買ったらその足で今度はホルモン焼きを買った。昔は商店街のはずれにあったのだが、今は南北の商店街に続く小さな別の商店街で商いをしている。店内は昼飲みの人たちでごった返していた。ホルモン焼きを包んでくれた後、「つまんでいき」と爪楊枝に刺したあつあつのホルモン焼きを頂いて、今度は店で一杯やろうかなと思ったり。もうそろそろ帰ろうかなと思ったのだが、ここで、蒸し豚につけるチョジャン（韓国酢味噌）を作るための<a class="keyword" href="https://d.hatena.ne.jp/keyword/%A5%B3%A5%C1%A5%E5%A5%B8%A5%E3%A5%F3">コチュジャン</a>がないことに気づく。そこで帰りに、いつもお世話になっている別のキムチ屋さんに行ってみた。<a class="keyword" href="https://d.hatena.ne.jp/keyword/%A5%B3%A5%C1%A5%E5%A5%B8%A5%E3%A5%F3">コチュジャン</a>は売り切れだったがチョジャンはあるとのことで、じゃあそれをもらおうかと思ったところ、オンニの娘さんが「蒸し豚の食べ方知っていますか？」と聞いてくれた。皆目見当もつかないので聞いてみると、ゆでた魚介ときゅうりを和えたり、素麺を和えて<a class="keyword" href="https://d.hatena.ne.jp/keyword/%A5%D4%A5%D3%A5%F3%CC%CD">ピビン麺</a>にしたりと、聞いてみるとなるほどなと思える食べ方を教えてくれた。</p> <p>　そうしてできあがったのが上の写真の夕食というわけだ。野菜とお肉（前日の焼肉の残り）以外はすべて商店街のもの。韓国系ばかりと言われたら、昔は死ぬほどまずかったのに更生して（？）美味しいものを作るようになった<a class="keyword" <p>　最近、朝ドラ「カムカムエヴリバディ」の再放送を見ている。すごく良いドラマなのだが、今日の話はドラマ本編ではなく、そこで使われている言葉に関連した話。このドラマは三世代のヒロインが登場し、舞台が岡山、大阪、京都と移っていくのだが、よくよく考えると私はこの三つの都市いずれにもなじみがある。母は岡山の生まれ、父は隣接する広島の生まれだし、今は大阪にほど近い町に住んでいる。そして大学は京都に通っていたのだ。ドラマを見ているうちに「じゃけえ」とか、「～さかいに」という表現が出てきて、何となくそれを自然に受け入れている自分に気づいた。</p> <p>　普段私はいわゆる「標準語」を話すように心がけていた節がある。なぜそうしようと思ったのかは、正直自分でも分からない。別に標準語をかっこいいと思ったわけでもないのだが、あまり大阪の言葉を話していたわけでもない（自覚なしに話しているのかもしれないが）。しかし最近になって、普段の会話でも先ほど言った「じゃけえ」が口を突いて出てくるようになった。それだけならヒロイン「るい」への憧れで説明できるのだが、いわゆる「方言」を口にすることに抵抗がなくなったのか、日常会話でもそのような言葉を話すことが多くなってきたように感じる。</p> <p>　そのなかで強く最近思うのは、方言は必ずしも「地域のもの」ではないということだ。京都弁とか青森弁とか、通例方言は○○弁と称されて、地域に根付いた言葉だとされる。でも人間の交通が発達するにつれ、そして小説・アニメ・ゲームなどのエンタメが普及するにつれ、言葉は方言を伴って全国を行きかうようになった。そうしているうちにみんなが各所の方言に親しみ、意識しているかは分からないが便利な言葉を使うようになっているんじゃないだろうか。私はいろいろな方言を聞いているうちに、「だから」と言いたいときに「じゃけえ」と言い、「なんで？」と言いたいときに「なして？」と言う。地域で考えればおかしな言葉遣いだが、「方言」というのはもともと「これをこの地域の言葉にしましょう」と決まったものではない。その地域に住む人が、話しやすいように言葉を紡いだ結果が方言になったのだろう。そう思うと、私が複数の地域の方言を自由に使いまわすのも、決して変なことではない。そして、私にとってなじみのある言葉遣いは幸いなことに、ほとんどコミュニケーションに障害をもたらしていない。</p> <p>　そういえば、方言と標準語に関連して、友人が「<a class="keyword" href="https://d.hatena.ne.jp/keyword/%A5%D4%A5%B8%A5%F3">ピジン</a>語」というものを教えてくれた。これは複数の母国語が違う話者の間で作られるある種の人工的言語で、コミュニケーションをとりたくても取れない者同士の間で既存の言語を簡略化して作る言語のことらしい。もちろん当事者間で「こういう風にしましょう」と契約したものではなく、自然とそうなったものなのだ。「標準語」というと東京の言葉のように思う人も多いが、サラダボウルとなった東京の中で今まさにこうした<a class="keyword" href="https://d.hatena.ne.jp/keyword/%A5%D4%A5%B8%A5%F3">ピジン</a>語と似通った言葉の発明が進んでいるかもしれないと思うと、方言 vs. 標準語という二項対立自体、あまり意味をなさないのかもしれない。</p> hatenablog-entry"> <p>　もう何年も愛用しているMP3プレーヤーがある。中国製の安物で、一年前に泥酔してこけたときに身体もろともコン<a class="keyword" href="https://d.hatena.ne.jp/keyword/%A5%AF%A5%EA%A1%BC%A5%C8">クリート</a>に打ちつけて多少ガタがきているものの、今でも立派に使えている。この<a class="keyword" href="https://d.hatena.ne.jp/keyword/%A5%A2%A5%CA%A5%AF%A5%ED">アナクロ</a>なMP3プレーヤーについて、私には不思議な特殊能力がある。一曲が終わった後、シャッフル機能で再生しているにもかかわらず、ときどきふと「次はあの曲だな」と思ったり、その曲の出だしが頭に浮かんできて、実際にその曲が流れるのだ。</p> <p>　最初はただの偶然だと思っていたのだが、何年もそのような経験を重ねていると、どうもただの偶然とは思えなくなってくる。蓋然性はかなり低いというか、次の曲が思い浮かぶ機会自体少ないのだが、不思議と、曲が思い浮かんだときそれが外れる可能性はそこそこ低い。音楽ファイルは300を優に超えているので、まぐれ当たりが続いているという線も薄い。また、日によって調子が良い日と悪い日があり、何曲もあてられるときもあれば、そもそも次の曲が分かる感覚が訪れない日もある。</p> <p>　だったら実験して確かめたらいいと思う人もいるかもしれないが、なかなかそれも難しい。というのも、まず「次はこの曲だ」と思った数瞬先にはもう曲が流れだすので、プレーヤーを止めて友人が「次の曲は？」「○○だと思った」「正解！」と、事前に答え合わせをするという手法がなかなか取れない。毎曲やればいいと思われるかもしれないが、先ほど述べたようにふと曲が分かる感覚は数十曲に一度、突然出てくるものなので、そんなことをしていたらデータ集めが恐ろしく大変だ。そして最後に言い訳がましくなってしまうが、街を歩きながら音楽を聞く場合と実験室のモルモットになって聞く場合とでは、あまりに環境が違いすぎる。日によって調子が違うのだから、どうもこの能力（能力だと仮定して）は環境に大きく左右されそうなので、実験室で全く力を発揮しない可能性も否めない。</p> <p>　それにしても、曲が流れだす前にそう思っているのだから、そこにはもしかするとなにか理由があるのかもしれない。たとえば音楽ファイルは再生されて短い間であれ、音楽が流れる前がある。私の耳はそこに含まれる微妙なノイズを（意識こそしないまでも）聞いていて、そのノイズによって次流れる音楽を判断しているのかもしれない。あるいは・・・「次はこの曲だ」という私の意志を何らかの仕方でこのMP3プレーヤーは察知して、その曲を流しているのかもしれない。というのは言い過ぎにしても、プレーヤーのシャッフル機能にある種のクセがあって、何度も音楽を聞いているうちに知らず知らずそのクセを私が学習して次の曲を予期できるようになっているのかもしれない。</p> hatenablog-entry"> <p>　四季のなかで好きな季節は何かと聞かれたら、ほぼ迷わず「冬」と答える。寒いのが苦手な人からすれば冬なんてあまり魅力があるように思われないのか、怪訝な顔をして「ウインタースポーツでもやるんですか」と聞かれることもあるが、そうではない。冬のあの命さえ凍り付きそうな寒さと風が好きなのだと答えると、それはもう、文字通り寒々とした顔で「変なの」と言われる。</p> <p>　寒くなると、どうも心が穏やかになる。私のイメージする冬は、静謐で、ナイフで切られるかのような冷たさがあって、時折風が渦巻く、森の中の寒さ。植物も動物もみんながぶるぶる震えていて、それでいながらきちんと生きている。どうして心が穏やかになるのかというと、簡単に言えば争い合うほどの活力もないからだ。身を切る寒さの中で、みんなだんだん弱っていって、最後はみんな冷たくなって消えていく。かといってそれが絶望的かというと、そうでもない。冷たくなっていく前に誰もが温かさを求めて助け合う。蒲団にくるまるとき、人は自分の熱に助けられ、誰かと抱き合うとき、相手の熱に助けられる。どんどんこの熱が弱くなるとしても、熱がなくなるときまで人は生きている。この意味で、真の絶望などどこにもないのだ。刺すような風が服をまくりあげるとき、私はまだ生きているのだと実感できる。</p> <p>　とはいえ、そういえば一度寒さで死にかけたこともある。イギリスからの帰り、<a class="keyword" href="https://d.hatena.ne.jp/keyword/%A5%D8%A5%EB%A5%B7%A5%F3%A5%AD">ヘルシンキ</a>でトランジットがあり、半日観光をすることになった。未明に<a class="keyword" href="https://d.hatena.ne.jp/keyword/%A5%D8%A5%EB%A5%B7%A5%F3%A5%AD">ヘルシンキ</a>に着いて手続きを済ませると、まだ太陽も出ていないなか多くの人は空港のロビーで<a class="keyword" href="https://d.hatena.ne.jp/keyword/%A5%B9%A5%DE%A5%DB">スマホ</a>を充電しながら待機していた。しかし数週間のイギリス行きでアドレナリン全開となって浮かれていた私は真っ暗な中、「少しでも町を見て回りたい」とまだ太陽も出ていない町に電車で繰り出していた。</p> <p>　北国の寒さは尋常ではない。ましてや冬の未明は文字通り凍り付く寒さだった。そしてパブの一軒でも開いていないかと思ったが、通りは文字通り人っ子一人おらず、商業施設のウィンドウがブランド物を照らしているだけだった。最初は歩き回る元気もあったが、直に雪が降って来るとあまりにも寒くなり、思わず駅の近くにある教会に逃げ込んだ。教会には一本だけ蝋燭がともしてあり、その蝋燭に悴む手を当て暖をとったときは、神聖な何かを感じ取ったほどだった。</p> <p>　とはいえいつまでも教会にいると怪しまれると思い外に出て、雪の降っていない屋内を、と駅に入った私は、やがて駅のベンチに座り込みそのまま寝てしまった。寒いと本当に眠りにつくんだ・・・気づくと誰かが肩を叩いている。我に返ると、ほとんど人気のなかった駅はたくさんの人が通勤していて、黒人のおじさんが心配そうにこちらを見ている。「帰る家はあるのか」「たばこは吸えるか」とおじさんは何度も声をかけてくれ、たばこを差し出してくれた。その必死さに、まさか「トランジットの間120%楽しもうと未明に飛び出したら寒くて寝てました」とも言えず、御礼だけ述べて明るくなった町に踏み出していくのだった。彼はまだ、十分な熱をもってあの街を通勤しているのだろうか。とても温かい人だった。</p> hatenablog-entry"> <p>　職場のひとつに、小さな冷蔵庫が置いてある。高さは一メートルほど、総勢20人以上のスタッフが使うにはちょっと小さすぎるきらいはあるが、きちんとチルドも冷凍庫もついた、よく冷える冷蔵庫だ。夏には冷凍庫に<a class="keyword" href="https://d.hatena.ne.jp/keyword/%A4%B3%A4%F3%A4%CB%A4%E3%A4%AF%A5%BC%A5%EA%A1%BC">こんにゃくゼリー</a>を入れて冷やす人がいたり、お弁当がダメにならないように冷やしたりと、なんだかんだことあるごとにみんなが使ってきた。ちなみにどうでもいいことだが、冷蔵庫の上には簡単な電子レンジがあって、このレンジも結構よく使われている。</p> <p>　さて、ある日、社員の異動があり、中年の女性がやって来ることとなった。（いつも通り）仕事の面でうまく付き合えるか心配だったものの、ある程度うまくコミュニケーションが取れるようになったころ、私は彼女が掃除好きであることに気づいていた。本人はぶつくさと言いながら色んなものを仕分けたりしているのだが、周りから見ていると、まるでそうしていることに喜びを見いだしているんじゃないかというほど熱心に掃除をする人だったのだ。</p> <p>　本心は分からないが、事務所の小さな冷蔵庫が問題になるのは時間の問題だった。折しも秋とはいえまだまだ暑い日が続くころで、「冷蔵庫がいっぱいでお弁当箱が入らない」なんて声があがっていた。そこで彼女が立ち上がらないはずがない。ある日、職場に行くと冷蔵庫に「来週、冷蔵庫の掃除をします。いらないものは撤去してください」という旨の張り紙がされていた。いよいよ冷蔵庫の掃除が始まるのだと、どこか他人事のような、不思議な気持ちでその張り紙を見て「来週のいつだよ」と漏らしたのを覚えている。</p> <p>　掃除は、私が事務所で仕事をしているさなかに始まった。いそいそと掃除道具を持ってやってきた彼女は次から次に庫内の「ゴミ」を取り出しては、私に嬉しそうに見せてきた。賞味期限が数年前のお菓子、飲みさしのまま何か月も放置されているであろうペットボトル、誰かがお土産で買ってきたものの誰にも食べられず放置されたチョコレート、使う予定もないのに大量に出てくる小さな保冷剤などなど（私が弁当と食べようと数週間前に入れていた納豆が出てきたのは内緒だ）。15分あまりのうちに掃除は終わり、結局庫内に残ったのは私のお茶と、小さな<a class="keyword" href="https://d.hatena.ne.jp/keyword/%A5%AD%A5%C3%A5%C8%A5%AB%A5%C3%A5%C8">キットカット</a>一切れだけだった。</p> <p>　それ<a class="keyword" href="https://d.hatena.ne.jp/keyword/%A4%AB%A4%E9%A4%B7">からし</a>ばらくして、不思議なことが起こった。彼女が掃除をしてからというもの、冷蔵庫の中は空っぽのままなのだ。いつも私はお茶を入れているが、めったに他の物は入っていない。稀に誰かのお弁当箱が入っているものの、かつての「他の人の物がいっぱいでお弁当箱が入らない」の「他の人の物」とは彼女が捨てたごみの集積でしかなかったのか。ストレージがいらない画像データで次第にいっぱいになっていくかのように、あの冷蔵庫は数年かけてゴミで一杯になっていっただけなのか。</p> <p>　いや、そう考えてもおかしい。もしこの仮説が正しいなら、冷蔵庫には次第に未来のゴミが入れられるはずだ。その未来のゴミが今はない。つまり、ゴミで一杯だった冷蔵庫は使われていたのに、綺麗になった冷蔵庫はやはり誰も使っていないのだ。小さな事務所の小さな冷蔵庫の掃除。取るに足らないことかもしれないが、私にはこの出来事が寓話のような教訓を秘めているように思われてならない。</p> </div> hatenablog-entry"> <p>　少しお酒を飲んで酔っ払ってしまった。横になって寝よう。いつものベッドに横たわって、しばらく寝れない時間が続き、いちど切り替えようとお茶を飲んでトイレに行った。再びベッドに戻り、あおむけに寝る。さっきより気分はマシで、もう少しで眠れそうだ・・・そう思った刹那、結構強い力で左眼を覆うように顔を誰かに「つかまれた」。</p> <p>　びっくりして「目覚める」と、なぜか青いペンキか何かを塗った女が此方をじっと見つめてくる。目覚めた今だからこそ分かるのだが、寝ていた我が家とは全く違う、不思議な場所に自分はいる。<a class="keyword" href="https://d.hatena.ne.jp/keyword/%A5%D0%A5%E9%A5%C3%A5%AF">バラック</a>の二階に相当する場所で自分は寝ていたらしい。そうして現実で寝ていたところ、どうも夢のなかで衝撃的な起こされ方をしたようだと夢の中d気づく。夢の中の私は、その女に見覚えがあった。でも、寝て起きた私には、そんな女の記憶はない。少なくとも夢のなかで、その女は何度も私が営む店に来ていて、たまに目の合う女だった。その女が真っ青なペイントで現れたことにも夢の中の私は驚いていた。</p> <p>　夢にありがちな雑なストーリーの飛ばしがあって、私は女にお引き取り願ったのだが、家を出たところで今度はその女の連れを名乗る男が出てきて、ぶつくさああだこうだ言っている。夢のなかでずいぶんと不快な気持ちになっていた私は刺し殺してやろうと思ったが思いとどまり、そこでふと眼が覚めた。</p> <p>　実際の経験のように明晰判明な夢で、朝方だったが、特に顔を掴まれた印象がなかなかぬぐえなかった。もう一度お茶を飲んでトイレに行って、再び寝る。すると今度は夢のなかで、いつも一緒に働いている可愛いパートさんが出てきた。</p> <p>　そこで自分が何を語っていたのかを起きた後思い出して、少し懐かしいような、少し気持ち悪いような気持ちがした。というのも、一度起きて再び寝たにもかかわらず、私は彼女に「前の夢で見た」青い女の話をしていたのだ。まるでそのようなことが現実に起こったかのように私は話をして、向こうは「えーそんなことあったん、怪我とかなくてよかったなー」とリアルな彼女の反応と近い反応で返していて、それが逆に起きた後変な気持ちがした。</p> <p>　夢と現実は、案外と区別がつかないという議論は昔からある。近代でも<a class="keyword" href="https://d.hatena.ne.jp/keyword/%A5%C7%A5%AB%A5%EB%A5%C8">デカルト</a>は方法的懐疑の一環で夢と現実の区別の問題を取り上げているし、その後イギリス経験論の哲学者たちはたびたびこの問題を取り上げている。一見すると夢と現実が区別できないだなんて気の違った話のように聞こえるかもしれないけど、気の違った私からすると、現実より夢の方がリアルに感じる経験があったり、今の話のように、（イギリス経験論者が夢と現実の違いのメルクマークとしたはずの）整合性が夢にもあったりするのだ。実は今の仕事も、夢の縁で引き受けているところがあり、スピリチュアルだけど不思議な縁で、今日も私は夢を見ている。</p>
