Most roles are for the summer season from September to February, however each year a team of about 12 staff remain for winter spending a total of 13 months on ice. The recruitment process for Scott Base roles starts around February each year, for the upcoming season (deploying around September). </p> <p>All other roles are based in Christchurch, which is one of only five Antarctic gateway cities in the world. This team plays a vital role in planning and supporting Scott Base to deliver a safe and successful season.
