This algorithm employs the behavior of the stator current spectral analysis and the localization of the Rotor Slot Harmonic (RSH) frequency to detect eccentricity faults in three phase induction machine. The RHS frequency once obtained is used as a key parameter into a simple developed expression to directly compute the eccentricity fault frequencies in the induction machine. Experimental tests performed for both a healthy motor and a faulty motor with different eccentricity fault severities illustrate the effectiveness and merits of the proposed EFD algorithm. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=squirrel%20cage%20motor" title="squirrel cage motor">squirrel cage motor</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=diagnosis" title=" diagnosis"> diagnosis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=eccentricity%20faults" title=" eccentricity faults"> eccentricity faults</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=current%20spectral%20analysis" title=" current spectral analysis"> current spectral analysis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=rotor%20slot%20harmonic" title=" rotor slot harmonic"> rotor slot harmonic</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/71112/induction-motor-eccentricity-fault-recognition-using-rotor-slot-harmonic-with-stator-current-technique" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/71112.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">487</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8</span> Genomic Analysis of Whole Genome Sequencing of Leishmania Major</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Fatimazahrae%20Elbakri">Fatimazahrae Elbakri</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Azeddine%20Ibrahimi"> Azeddine Ibrahimi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Meryem%20Lemrani"> Meryem Lemrani</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Dris%20Belghyti"> Dris Belghyti</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Leishmaniasis represents a major public health problem because of the number of cases recorded each year and the wide distribution of the disease. It is a parasitic disease of flagellated protozoa transmitted by the bite of certain species of sandfly, causing a spectrum of clinical pathology in humans ranging from disfiguring skin lesions to fatal visceral leishmaniasis. Cutaneous leishmaniasis due to Leishmania major is a polymorphic disease; in fact, the infection can be asymptomatic, localized, or disseminated. The objective of this work is to determine the genomic diversity that contributes to clinical variability by trying to identify the variation in chromosome number and to extract SNPs and SNPs and InDels; it is based on four sequences (WGS) of Leishmania major available on NCBI in Fastq form, from three countries: Tunisia, Algeria, and Israel, the analysis is set up from a pipeline to facilitate the discovery of genetic diversity, in particular SNP and chromosomal somy. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Leshmania%20major" title="Leshmania major">Leshmania major</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cutaneous%20Leishmania" title=" cutaneous Leishmania"> cutaneous Leishmania</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=NGS" title=" NGS"> NGS</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=genomic" title=" genomic"> genomic</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=somy" title=" somy"> somy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=variant%20calling" title=" variant calling"> variant calling</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/170783/genomic-analysis-of-whole-genome-sequencing-of-leishmania-major" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/170783.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">79</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">7</span> Induction Motor Stator Fault Analysis Using Phase-Angle and Magnitude of the Line Currents Spectra</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ahmed%20Hamida%20Boudinar">Ahmed Hamida Boudinar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Noureddine%20Benouzza"> Noureddine Benouzza</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Azeddine%20Bendiabdellah"> Azeddine Bendiabdellah</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohamed%20El%20Amine%20Khodja"> Mohamed El Amine Khodja</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This paper describes a new diagnosis approach for identification of the progressive stator winding inter-turn short-circuit fault in induction motor. This approach is based on a simple monitoring of the combined information related to both magnitude and phase-angle obtained from the fundamental by the three line currents frequency analysis. In addition, to simplify the interpretation and analysis of the data; a new graphical tool based on a triangular representation is suggested. This representation, depending on its size, enables to visualize in a simple and clear manner, the existence of the stator inter-turn short-circuit fault and its discrimination with respect to a healthy stator. More power plants should be installed to increase generation capacity and meet demand. Electricity in Saudi Arabia is mainly dependent on fossil fuels, which are a major problem as they deplete natural resources and increase CO₂ emissions. In this research work, performance and techno-economic analyzes are conducted to evaluate a microgrid system based on hybrid PV/wind diesel power sources as a stand-alone system for rural electrification in Saudi Arabia. The total power flow, maximum power point tracking (MPPT) efficiency, effectiveness of the proposed control strategy, and total harmonic distortion (THD) are analyzed in MATLAB/Simulink environment. This problem has become even more worrying in Deep Learning, where the generalization capabilities have been questioned lately. Indeed, deep learning requires a large amount of data that is generally collected by search engines, which frequently return data with unreliable labels. In this paper, we investigate the Label Noise in Deep Learning using variational inference. Our contributions are : (1) exploiting Label Noise concept where the true labels are learnt using reparameterization variational inference, while observed labels are learnt discriminatively. (2) the noise transition matrix is learnt during the training without any particular process, neither heuristic nor preliminary phases. The theoretical results shows how true label distribution can be learned by variational inference in any discriminate neural network, and the effectiveness of our approach is proved in several target datasets, such as MNIST and CIFAR32. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=label%20noise" title="label noise">label noise</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=deep%20learning" title=" deep learning"> deep learning</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=discrete%20latent%20variable" title=" discrete latent variable"> discrete latent variable</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=variational%20inference" title=" variational inference"> variational inference</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=MNIST" title=" MNIST"> MNIST</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=CIFAR32" title=" CIFAR32"> CIFAR32</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/142809/deep-learning-with-noisy-labels-learning-true-labels-as-discrete-latent-variable" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/142809.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">127</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4</span> Performences of Type-2 Fuzzy Logic Control and Neuro-Fuzzy Control Based on DPC for Grid Connected DFIG with Fixed Switching Frequency</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Fayssal%20Amrane">Fayssal Amrane</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Azeddine%20Chaiba"> Azeddine Chaiba</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In this paper, type-2 fuzzy logic control (T2FLC) and neuro-fuzzy control (NFC) for a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) based on direct power control (DPC) with a fixed switching frequency is proposed for wind generation application. It has been successfully applied to a levitation system and drone control. Simulations have yielded satisfactory performances when applied to a satellite antenna controller. This design method, based on sensitivity analysis, has also been extended to handle multivariable unstable and invertible systems that exhibit dominant diagonal characteristics at high frequencies, enabling decentralized control. Furthermore, this control method has been expanded to the realm of adaptive control. In this study, we introduce an alternative adaptive architecture that enhances both time and frequency performance, helpfully mitigating the effects of disturbances from the input plant and external disturbances affecting the output. To facilitate superior performance in both the time and frequency domains, we have developed user-friendly interactive design methods using the GeoGebra platform. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=control%20theory" title="control theory">control theory</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=decentralized%20control" title=" decentralized control"> decentralized control</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sensitivity%20theory" title=" sensitivity theory"> sensitivity theory</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=input-output%20stability%20theory" title=" input-output stability theory"> input-output stability theory</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=robust%20multivariable%20feedback%20control%20design" title=" robust multivariable feedback control design"> robust multivariable feedback control design</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/163118/improved-simultaneous-performance-in-the-time-domain-and-in-the-frequency-domain" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/163118.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">113</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">2</span> Real Time Implementation of Efficient DFIG-Variable Speed Wind Turbine Control </h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Fayssal%20Amrane">Fayssal Amrane</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Azeddine%20Chaiba"> Azeddine Chaiba</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bruno%20Francois"> Bruno Francois</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In this paper, design and experimental study based on Direct Power Control (DPC) of DFIG is proposed for Stand-alone mode in Variable Speed Wind Energy Conversion System (VS-WECS). The proposed IDPC method based on robust IP (Integral-Proportional) controllers in order to control the Rotor Side Converter (RSC) by the means of the rotor current d-q axes components (Ird* and Irq*) of Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) through AC-DC-AC converter. The implementation is realized using dSPACE dS1103 card under Sub and Super-synchronous operations (means < and > of the synchronous speed “1500 rpm”). Finally, experimental results demonstrate that the proposed control using IP provides improved dynamic responses, and decoupled control of the wind turbine has driven DFIG with high performances (good reference tracking, short response time and low power error) despite for sudden variation of wind speed and rotor references currents. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Direct%20Power%20Control%20%28DPC%29" title="Direct Power Control (DPC)">Direct Power Control (DPC)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Doubly%20fed%20induction%20generator%20%28DFIG%29" title=" Doubly fed induction generator (DFIG)"> Doubly fed induction generator (DFIG)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Wind%20Energy%20Conversion%20System%20%28WECS%29" title=" Wind Energy Conversion System (WECS)"> Wind Energy Conversion System (WECS)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Experimental%20study." title=" Experimental study."> Experimental study.</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/119810/real-time-implementation-of-efficient-dfig-variable-speed-wind-turbine-control" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/119810.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">126</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">1</span> Fault Tolerant Control System Using a Multiple Time Scale SMC Technique and a Geometric Approach</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ghodbane%20Azeddine">Ghodbane Azeddine</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Saad%20Maarouf"> Saad Maarouf</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Boland%20Jean-Francois"> Boland Jean-Francois</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Thibeault%20Claude"> Thibeault Claude</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This paper proposes a new design of an active fault-tolerant flight control system against abrupt actuator faults. This overall system combines a multiple time scale sliding mode controller for fault compensation and a geometric approach for fault detection and diagnosis. The proposed control system is able to accommodate several kinds of partial and total actuator failures, by using available healthy redundancy actuators. The overall system first estimates the correct fault information using the geometric approach. Then, and based on that, a new reconfigurable control law is designed based on the multiple time scale sliding mode technique for on-line compensating the effect of such faults. This approach takes advantages of the fact that there are significant difference between the time scales of aircraft states that have a slow dynamics and those that have a fast dynamics. The closed-loop stability of the overall system is proved using Lyapunov technique. A case study of the non-linear model of the F16 fighter, subject to the rudder total loss of control confirms the effectiveness of the proposed approach. <p
