Colloquially referred to as orange city, it has also the claim of being the second greenest city of India. The second Capital of Maharashtra is fast emerging as a commercial hub. This 319 years old city (1702 AD-2021 AD) exemplifies a unique blend of antiquity and modernity. <br>Formally declared as the tiger capital of India, Nagpur is the Gateway city to some of the most popular wild life destination like Tadoba Tiger Reserve, Kanha National Park, Pench National Park and Many more across central India where one can come face to face with the elusive Tiger. <br>Being the geographical center of India, Nagpur automatically becomes the meeting point of many travel routes with the best air and rail connectivity with all major cities of India. <br>Also, the city is counted among the most secure cities of the country; and hence, India’s majority gold asset is kept in Nagpur’s Branch of Reserve Bank of India. Tiger reserves such as Pench Tiger Reserve is situated around 90 km from the city and can be reached through NH44 in Nagpur – Jabalpur road. <br>Umred Karhandla Wildlife Sanctuary, Bor Wildlife Sanctuary, Nagzira Wildlife Sanctuary, Navegaon National Park, Melghat Tiger Reserve and Kanha Tiger Reserve(MP) are the other tiger reserves which are located at a radius of 200 km from the city. The city has its own reserved forest area at Seminary Hills and Gorewada. <br>Notably Maharashtra's oldest and largest National Park, the "Tadoba National Park", also known as the "Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve" is one of India's 47 project tiger reserves existing in India. It lies in the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra state and is approximately 150 km from Nagpur city. The total area of the tiger reserve is 1,727 Sq.km, which includes the Tadoba National Park, created in the year 1955. </p> </div> </div> <div class="row tour"> <div class="left"> </div> <div class="right"> <h3>Kasturchand Park</h3> <p class="para" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 30px;">One of the biggest meeting places in Nagpur city, Kasturchand Park is situated at about 1 km. from central railway station. It is the most popular place when it comes to holding big processions in the city. In fact, a lot of trade shows and fairs are also organized in the park owing to the space available here. The park is always thriving with all sorts of activities the entire year.</p> </div> </div> <div class="row tour right"> <div class="left"> </div> <div class="right"> <h3>Nagardhan Fort</h3> <p class="para" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 30px;">Nagardhan, situated 38 kms northeast of Nagpur and about 9kms south of Ramtek, is an old town founded by a Suryavanshi King. Main attraction of Nagardhan is the Nagardhan Fort, supposed to be built by Raja Raghuji Bhonsle, a maratha king of the Bhonsale dynasty. The square shaped palace inside the fort has an outer rampart with bastions and had an inner wall surrounding the buildings. The main gate of the fort on the north-west side is still in good condition. Inside the fort, nearby the palace there is a well which has two levels underground for people to stay with proper rooms. It also houses an idol of goddess Durga </p> </div> </div> <div class="row tour"> <div class="left"> </div> <div class="right"> <h3>Sitabuldi Fort</h3> <p class="para" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 30px;">Sitabuldi Fort in Nagpur Sitabuldi fort, site of the 1817 Battle of Sitabuldi, is located atop a small hillock in the middle of Nagpur. The fort was built by Appa Sahib or Mudhoji II Bhonsle of the Kingdom of Nagpur, just before he fought against the British East India Company during the Third Anglo-Maratha War. The area surrounding the hillock is now known as Sitabuldi and is an important commercial hub for Nagpur. <br>Inside the fort one can find graves of numerous British soldiers and a cell where Mahatma Gandhi was imprisoned. At present, Sitabuldi fort is the home to the office of the territorial army. The fort opens to the general public only on two national holidays- 26th January and 15th August. <br>The nearby attractions here are the temple of Ganesha (Tekdi Ganapati) at the back of the hillock, ancient temples of Lord Shiva and Vishnu, squash court, indoor swimming pool and the mausoleum of Nawab Kadar Ali (the great grandson of Tipu Sultan) near the eastern boundary wall of the fort. </p> </div> </div> <div class="row tour right"> <div class="left"> </div> <div class="right"> <h3>Zero Mile</h3> <p class="para" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 30px;">Zero Mile in Nagpur Nagpur lies precisely at the center of the country with the Zero Mile Marker indicating the geographical center of India. The Zero Mile Stone was erected by the British who used this point to measure all the distances. The Zero Mile Stone consists of four horses and a pillar made up of sandstone. It is located on the south east of Vidhan Bhavan, Nagpur. The English rulers considered Nagpur as the centre of India and hence identified this point and constructed the Zero Mile Stone. It is built out of Dhaulpur sandstone, marbles & granites and is 120 feet in height. Followers of Ambedkar & Buddhism gather here on Ashoka Vijaya Dashmi, marked to celebrate the amalgamation of many dalits to Buddhism by Doctor Ambedkar, to offer their tributes. This place is filled with musical fountains, soothing tunes and music all played out by the musicians. Well, a visit to Amba Khori, at about 80 kilometer from Nagpur, will make this scene come to life. Situated close to the banks of River Pench, this location is nothing short of an exotic foreign location. Sitting in the lap of Mother Nature, Amba Khori has more than just a waterfall to attract. The temple boasts of rich architecture; the idol of Ganesha can be seen seated under a tree inside the premises of the temple.
