For it is inevitable<MG318> that <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[f]</a></span>stumbling<MG4625> blocks<MG4625> come<MG2064>; but woe<MG3759> to the person<MG444> through<MG1223> whom<MG3739> the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[g]</a></span>stumbling<MG4625> block<MG4625> comes<MG2064>! <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/18-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>“And if<MG1487> your hand<MG5495> or<MG2228> your foot<MG4228> is causing<MG4624> you to<MG4624> sin<MG4624>, cut<MG1581> it off<MG1581> and throw<MG906> it away<MG575> from you; it is better<MG2570> for you to enter<MG1525> life<MG2222> maimed<MG2948> or<MG2228> without<MG5560> a<MG5560> foot<MG5560>, than<MG2228> to have<MG2192> two<MG1417> hands<MG5495> or<MG2228> two<MG1417> feet<MG4228> and be thrown<MG906> into the eternal<MG166> fire<MG4442>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/18-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>And if<MG1487> your eye<MG3788> is causing<MG4624> you to<MG4624> sin<MG4624>, tear<MG1807> it out<MG1807> and throw<MG906> it away<MG575> from you. It is better<MG2570> for you to enter<MG1525> life<MG2222> with one<MG3442> eye<MG3442>, than<MG2228> to have<MG2192> two<MG1417> eyes<MG3788> and be thrown<MG906> into the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[h]</a></span>fiery<MG4442> hell<MG1067>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/18-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>“See<MG3708> that you do not look<MG2706> down<MG2706> on<MG2706> one<MG1520> of these<MG3778> little<MG3398> ones<MG3398>; for I say<MG3004> to you that their angels<MG32a> in heaven<MG3772> continually<MG1223, 3956> see<MG3708> the face<MG4383> of My Father<MG3962> who is in heaven<MG3772>.<span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[i]</a></span> <p class="hdg">Ninety-nine Plus One</p><p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/18-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>“What<MG5101> do you think<MG1380>? If<MG1437> any<MG5100> man<MG444> has<MG1096> a hundred<MG1540> sheep<MG4263b>, and one<MG1520> of them goes<MG4105> astray<MG4105>, will he not leave<MG863> the ninety-nine<MG1752b, 1767> on the mountains<MG3735>, and go<MG4198> and search<MG2212> for<MG2212> the one that is lost<MG4105>? <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/18-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>And if<MG1437> it turns<MG1096> out<MG1096> that he finds<MG2147> it, truly<MG281> I say<MG3004> to you, he rejoices<MG5463> over<MG1909> it more<MG3123> than<MG2228> over<MG1909> the ninety-nine<MG1752b, 1767> that have not gone<MG4105> astray<MG4105>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/18-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>So<MG3779> it is not <i>the</i> will<MG2307> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[j]</a></span>of your Father<MG3962> who is in heaven<MG3772> for one<MG1520> of these<MG3778> little<MG3398> ones<MG3398> to perish<MG622>. <p class="hdg">Discipline and Prayer</p><p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/18-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>“Now<MG1161> if<MG1437> your brother<MG80> sins<MG264><span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[k]</a></span>, go<MG5217> and <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[l]</a></span>show<MG1651> him his fault<MG1651> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[m]</a></span>in private<MG3441>; if<MG1437> he listens<MG191> to you, you have gained<MG2770> your brother<MG80>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/18-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>But if<MG1437> he does not listen<MG191> <i>to you,</i> take<MG3880> one<MG1520> or<MG2228> two<MG1417> more<MG2089> with you, so<MG2443> that<MG2443> ON THE <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[n]</a></span>TESTIMONY<MG4750> OF TWO<MG1417> OR<MG2228> THREE<MG5140> WITNESSES<MG3144> EVERY<MG3956> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[o]</a></span>MATTER<MG4487> MAY BE CONFIRMED<MG2476>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/18-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>And if<MG1437> he refuses<MG3878> to<MG3878> listen<MG3878> to them, tell<MG3004> it to the church<MG1577>; and if<MG1437> he refuses<MG3878> to<MG3878> listen<MG3878> even<MG2532> to the church<MG1577>, he is to be to you as <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[p]</a></span>a Gentile<MG1482> and <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[q]</a></span>a tax<MG5057> collector<MG5057>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/18-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>Truly<MG281> I say<MG3004> to you, whatever<MG3745, 1437> you <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[r]</a></span>bind<MG1210> on earth<MG1093> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[s]</a></span>shall have been bound<MG1210> in heaven<MG3772>; and whatever<MG3745, 1437> you <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[t]</a></span>loose<MG3089> on earth<MG1093> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[u]</a></span>shall have been loosed<MG3089> in heaven<MG3772>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/18-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>“Again<MG3825> I say<MG3004> to you, that if<MG1437> two<MG1417> of you agree<MG4856> on earth<MG1093> about<MG4012> anything<MG3956, 4229> that they may ask<MG154>, it shall be done<MG1096> for them <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[v]</a></span>by My Father<MG3962> who is in heaven<MG3772>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/18-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>For where<MG3757> two<MG1417> or<MG2228> three<MG5140> have gathered<MG4863> together<MG4863> in My name<MG3686>, I am<MG1510> there<MG1563> in their midst<MG3319>.” <p class="hdg">Forgiveness</p><p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/18-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span>Then<MG5119> Peter<MG4074> came<MG4334> up<MG4334> and said<MG3004> to Him, “Lord<MG2962>, how<MG4212> many<MG4212> times<MG4212> shall my brother<MG80> sin<MG264> against<MG1519> me and I <i>still</i> forgive<MG863> him? Up to seven<MG2034> times<MG2034>?” <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/18-22.htm"><b>22</b></a></span>Jesus<MG2424> *said<MG3004> to him, “I do not say<MG3004> to you, up to seven<MG2034> patience<MG3114> with me and I will repay<MG591> you everything<MG3956>.’ <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/18-27.htm"><b>27</b></a></span>And the master<MG2962> of that slave<MG1401> felt<MG4697> compassion<MG4697>, and he released<MG630> him and forgave<MG863> him the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[aa]</a></span>debt<MG1156>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/18-28.htm"><b>28</b></a></span>But that slave<MG1401> went<MG1831> out<MG1831> and found<MG2147> one<MG1520> of his fellow<MG4889> slaves<MG4889> who<MG3739> owed<MG3784> him a hundred<MG1540> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[ab]</a></span>denarii<MG1220>; and he seized<MG2902> him and <i>began</i> to choke<MG4155> <i>him,</i> saying<MG3004>, ‘Pay<MG591> back<MG591> what<MG5101> you owe<MG3784>!’ <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/18-29.htm"><b>29</b></a></span>So<MG3767> his fellow<MG4889> slave<MG4889> fell<MG4098> <i>to the ground</i> and <i>began</i> to
