It is also the trickiest method to learn. It is known as that it can only to be sensed not explained. This becomes a serious threat to the survival of this diagnostic method. However, there are a large amount of experiences accumulated during the several thousand years of practice of Chinese doctors. A pulse pattern called 'Slippery pulse' is one of the indications of pregnancy. A simple fluid dynamic model is proposed to simulate the effects of the existence of a placenta. The placenta is modeled as an extra plenum in an extremely simplified fluid network model. It is found that because of the existence of the extra plenum, indeed the pulse pattern shows a secondary peak in one pulse period. As for the author’s knowledge, this work is the first time to show the link between Pulse diagnoses and basic physical principle. Key parameters which might affect the pattern are also investigated. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chinese%20medicine" title="Chinese medicine">Chinese medicine</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=flow%20network" title=" flow network"> flow network</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=pregnancy" title=" pregnancy"> pregnancy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=pulse" title=" pulse"> pulse</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/54396/a-simple-fluid-dynamic-model-for-slippery-pulse-pattern-in-traditional-chinese-pulse-diagnosis" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/54396.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">386</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4660</span> Fluid Structure Interaction Study between Ahead and Angled Impact of AGM 88 Missile Entering Relatively High Viscous Fluid for K-Omega Turbulence Model</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Abu%20Afree%20Andalib">Abu Afree Andalib</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rafiur%20Rahman"> Rafiur Rahman</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Md%20Mezbah%20Uddin"> Md Mezbah Uddin</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The main objective of this work is to anatomize on the various parameters of AGM 88 missile anatomized using FSI module in Ansys. Computational fluid dynamics is used for the study of fluid flow pattern and fluidic phenomenon such as drag, pressure force, energy dissipation and shockwave distribution in water. Using finite element analysis module of Ansys, structural parameters such as stress and stress density, localization point, deflection, force propagation is determined. Separate analysis on structural parameters is done on Abacus. State of the art coupling module is used for FSI analysis. Fine mesh is considered in every case for better result during simulation according to computational machine power. The result of the above-mentioned parameters is analyzed and compared for two phases using graphical representation. The result of Ansys and Abaqus are also showed. Computational Fluid Dynamics and Finite Element analyses and subsequently the Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI) technique is being considered. Finite volume method and finite element method are being considered for modelling fluid flow and structural parameters analysis. Feasible boundary conditions are also utilized in the research. Significant change in the interaction and interference pattern while the impact was found. Theoretically as well as according to simulation angled condition was found with higher impact. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=FSI%20%28Fluid%20Surface%20Interaction%29" title="FSI (Fluid Surface Interaction)">FSI (Fluid Surface Interaction)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=impact" title=" impact"> impact</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=missile" title=" missile"> missile</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=high%20viscous%20fluid" title=" high viscous fluid"> high viscous fluid</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=CFD%20%28Computational%20Fluid%20Dynamics%29" title=" CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics)"> CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=FEM%20%28Finite%20Element%20Analysis%29" title=" FEM (Finite Element Analysis)"> FEM (Finite Element Analysis)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=FVM%20%28Finite%20Volume%20Method%29" title=" FVM (Finite Volume Method)"> FVM (Finite Volume Method)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fluid%20flow" title=" fluid flow"> fluid flow</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fluid%20pattern" title=" fluid pattern"> fluid pattern</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=structural%20analysis" title=" structural analysis"> structural analysis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=AGM-88" title=" AGM-88"> AGM-88</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ansys" title=" Ansys"> Ansys</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Abaqus" title=" Abaqus"> Abaqus</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=meshing" title=" meshing"> meshing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=k-omega" title=" k-omega"> k-omega</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=turbulence%20model" title=" turbulence model"> turbulence model</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/80721/fluid-structure-interaction-study-between-ahead-and-angled-impact-of-agm-88-missile-entering-relatively-high-viscous-fluid-for-k-omega-turbulence-model" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/80721.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">468</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4659</span> Design and Experimental Studies of a Centrifugal SWIRL Atomizer</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hemabushan%20K.">Hemabushan K.</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Manikandan"> Manikandan</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In a swirl atomizer, fluid undergoes a swirling motion as a result of centrifugal force created by opposed tangential inlets in the swirl chamber. The angular momentum of fluid continually increases as it reaches the exit orifice and forms a hollow sheet. Which disintegrates to form ligaments and droplets respectively as it flows downstream. This type of atomizers used in rocket injectors and oil burner furnaces. In this present investigation a swirl atomizer with two opposed tangential inlets has been designed. Water as working fluid, experiments had been conducted for the fluid injection pressures in regime of 0.033 bar to 0.519 bar. The fluid has been pressured by a 0.5hp pump and regulated by a pressure regulator valve. Injection pressure of fluid has been measured by a U-tube mercury manometer. The spray pattern and the droplets has been captured with a high resolution camera in black background with a high intensity flash highlighting the fluid. The unprocessed images were processed in ImageJ processing software for measuring the droplet diameters and its shape characteristics along the downstream. The parameters such as mean droplet diameter and distribution, wave pattern, rupture distance and spray angle were studied for this atomizer. The above results were compared with theoretical results and also analysed for deviation with design parameters. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=swirl%20atomizer" title="swirl atomizer">swirl atomizer</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=injector" title=" injector"> injector</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=spray" title=" spray"> spray</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=SWIRL" title=" SWIRL"> SWIRL</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/21828/design-and-experimental-studies-of-a-centrifugal-swirl-atomizer" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/21828.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">491</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4658</span> Magnetohydrodynamic Couette Flow of Fractional Burger’s Fluid in an Annulus</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sani%20Isa">Sani Isa</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ali%20Musa"> Ali Musa</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Burgers’ fluid with a fractional derivatives model in an annulus was analyzed. Combining appropriately the basic equations, with the fractionalized fractional Burger’s fluid model allow us to determine the velocity field, temperature and shear stress. The governing partial differential equation was solved using the combine Laplace transformation method and Riemann sum approximation to give velocity field, temperature and shear stress on the fluid flow. The influence of various parameters like fractional parameters, relaxation time and retardation time, are drawn. The results obtained are simulated using Mathcad software and presented graphically. From the graphical results, we observed that the relaxation time and time helps the flow pattern, on the other hand, other material constants resist the fluid flow while fractional parameters effect on fluid flow is opposite to each other. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sani%20isa" title="sani isa">sani isa</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ali%20musaburger%E2%80%99s%20fluid" title=" Ali musaburger’s fluid"> Ali musaburger’s fluid</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Laplace%20transform" title=" Laplace transform"> Laplace transform</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fractional%20derivatives" title=" fractional derivatives"> fractional derivatives</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=annulus" title=" annulus"> annulus</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/190150/magnetohydrodynamic-couette-flow-of-fractional-burgers-fluid-in-an-annulus" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/190150.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">28</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4657</span> Computational Fluid Dynamics Simulation and Comparison of Flow through Mechanical Heart Valve Using Newtonian and Non-Newtonian Fluid</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=D.%20%C5%A0ediv%C3%BD">D. The simulation was carried out by a commercial computational fluid dynamics (CFD) package based on finite-volume method. An aortic bileaflet heart valve (Sorin Bicarbon) was used as a pattern for model of real heart valve replacement. Computed tomography (CT) was used to gain the accurate parameters of the valve. Data from CT were transferred in the commercial 3D designer, where the model for CFD was made. Carreau rheology model was applied as non-Newtonian fluid. Physiological data of cardiac cycle were used as boundary conditions. Outputs were taken the leaflets excursion from opening to closure and the fluid dynamics through the valve. This study also includes experimental measurement of pressure fields in ambience of valve for verification numerical outputs. Results put in evidence a favorable comparison between the computational solutions of flow through the mechanical heart valve using Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluid. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=computational%20modeling" title="computational modeling">computational modeling</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dynamic%20mesh" title=" dynamic mesh"> dynamic mesh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mechanical%20heart%20valve" title=" mechanical heart valve"> mechanical heart valve</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=non-Newtonian%20fluid" title=" non-Newtonian fluid"> non-Newtonian fluid</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/70433/computational-fluid-dynamics-simulation-and-comparison-of-flow-through-mechanical-heart-valve-using-newtonian-and-non-newtonian-fluid" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/70433.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">387</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4656</span> Investigation on Porcine Follicular Fluid Protein Pattern of Medium and Large Follicles </h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hatairuk%20Tungkasen">Hatairuk Tungkasen</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Somrudee%20Phetchrid"> Somrudee Phetchrid</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Suwapat%20Jaidee"> Suwapat Jaidee</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Supinya%20Yoomak"> Supinya Yoomak</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chantana%20Kankamol"> Chantana Kankamol</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mayuree%20Pumipaiboon"> Mayuree Pumipaiboon</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mayuva%20Areekijseree"> Mayuva Areekijseree </a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Ovaries of reproductive female pigs were obtained from local slaughterhouses in Nakorn Pathom Province, Thailand. Ultrasound propagation into liquid medium leads to stimulation of the fluid, creates turbulence and so increases the mixing performance. In this study, CFD modeling of two-phase flow in a pitted micromixer equipped with a piezoelectric with frequency of 1.7 MHz has been studied. CFD modeling of micromixer at different velocity of fluid flow in the absence of ultrasound waves and with ultrasound application has been performed. The hydrodynamic of fluid flow and mixing efficiency for using ultrasound has been compared with the layout of no ultrasound application. The result of CFD modeling shows well agreements with the experimental results. The results showed that the flow pattern inside the micromixer in the absence of ultrasound waves is parallel, while when ultrasound has been applied, it is not parallel. In fact, propagation of ultrasound energy into the fluid flow in the studied micromixer changed the hydrodynamic and the forms of the flow pattern and caused to mixing enhancement. In general, from the CFD modeling results, it can be concluded that the applying ultrasound energy into the liquid medium causes an increase in the turbulences and mixing and consequently, improves the mass transfer rate within the micromixer. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=CFD%20modeling" title="CFD modeling">CFD modeling</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ultrasound" title=" ultrasound"> ultrasound</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mixing" title=" mixing"> mixing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=mass%20transfer" title=" mass transfer"> mass transfer</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/102598/cfd-modeling-of-mixing-enhancement-in-a-pitted-micromixer-by-high-frequency-ultrasound-waves" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/102598.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">183</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4654</span> Cyclic Evolution of a Two Fluid Diffusive Universe</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Subhayan%20Maity">Subhayan Maity</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Complete scenario of cosmic evolution from emergent phase to late time acceleration (i.e. non-singular ever expanding Universe) is a popular preference in the recent cosmology. Under diffusion mechanism (non-equilibrium thermodynamic process), the cosmic evolution has been modelled as [ emergent - accelerated expansion - decelerated expansion - decelerated contraction - accelerated contraction - emergent] . <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=non-equilibrium%20thermodynamics" title="non-equilibrium thermodynamics">non-equilibrium thermodynamics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=non%20singular%20evolution%20of%20universe" title=" non singular evolution of universe"> non singular evolution of universe</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cyclic%20evolution" title=" cyclic evolution"> cyclic evolution</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=diffusive%20fluid" title=" diffusive fluid"> diffusive fluid</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/146121/cyclic-evolution-of-a-two-fluid-diffusive-universe" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/146121.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">141</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4653</span> Neuron Efficiency in Fluid Dynamics and Prediction of Groundwater Reservoirs'' Properties Using Pattern Recognition</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=J.%20K.%20Adedeji">J. The essential of geophysical survey using the manual methods has failed in basement environment, hence the need for an intelligent computing such as predicted from neural network is inevitable. A non-linear neural network with an XOR (exclusive OR) output of 8-bits configuration has been used in this research to predict the nature of groundwater reservoirs and fluid dynamics of a typical basement crystalline rock. The control variables are the apparent resistivity of weathered layer (<em>p</em>1), fractured layer (<em>p</em>2), and the depth (h), while the dependent variable is the flow parameter (F=<img height="19" src="file:///C:\Users\merhaba\AppData\Local\Temp\OICE_E62EC5F6-DA79-44AA-AEA1-6C9A5A2AEC3F.0\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image002.gif" width="14" />λ). The algorithm that was used in training the neural network is the back-propagation coded in C++ language with 300 epoch runs. The neural network was very intelligent to map out the flow channels and detect how they behave to form viable storage within the strata. The neural network model showed that an important variable gr (gravitational resistance) can be deduced from the elevation and apparent resistivity <em>p</em>a. The aim of the present work was to study the pattern of vitamin C and nitric oxide in follicular fluid of buffalo during different seasons of the year considering phase of estrous cycle. This study was conducted on 208 cyclic buffaloes slaughtered at Al-Qaliobia governorate, Egypt, over one year. The obtained results revealed that vitamin C in follicular fluid was significantly lower in summer than winter and spring. On the other hand, nitric oxide (NO) was significantly higher in summer and autumn than winter and spring. Both vitamin C and NO did not differ significantly between follicular and luteal phases. In conclusion, the present study revealed that alterations in concentrations of follicular fluid vitamin C and NO that occur in summer could be related to low summer fertility in buffalo. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Buffalo" title="Buffalo">Buffalo</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=follicular%20fluid" title=" follicular fluid"> follicular fluid</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=vitamin%20C" title=" vitamin C"> vitamin C</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=nitric%20oxide" title=" nitric oxide"> nitric oxide</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=heat%20stress" title=" heat stress"> heat stress</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/60887/vitamin-c-status-and-nitric-oxide-in-buffalo-ovarian-follicular-fluid-in-relation-to-seasonal-heat-stress-and-phase-of-estrous-cycle" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/60887.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">332</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4651</span> Effect of Non-Newtonian Behavior of Oil Phase on Oil-Water Stratified Flow in a Horizontal Channel</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Satish%20Kumar%20Dewangan">Satish Kumar Dewangan</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Santosh%20Kumar%20Senapati"> Santosh Kumar Senapati</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The present work focuses on the investigation of the effect of non-Newtonian behavior on the oil-water stratified flow in a horizontal channel using ANSYS Fluent. Coupled level set and volume of fluid (CLSVOF) has been used to capture the evolving interface assuming unsteady, coaxial flow with constant fluid properties. The diametric variation of oil volume fraction, mixture velocity, total pressure and pressure gradient has been studied. Non-Newtonian behavior of oil has been represented by the power law model in order to investigate the effect of flow behavior index. Stratified flow pattern tends to assume dispersed flow pattern with the change in the behavior of oil to non-Newtonian. The pressure gradient is found to be very much sensitive to the flow behavior index. The findings could be useful in designing the transportation pipe line in petroleum industries. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=oil-water%20stratified%20flow" title="oil-water stratified flow">oil-water stratified flow</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=horizontal%20channel" title=" horizontal channel"> horizontal channel</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=CLSVOF" title=" CLSVOF"> CLSVOF</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=non%E2%80%93Newtonian%20behaviour." title=" non–Newtonian behaviour."> non–Newtonian behaviour.</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/79797/effect-of-non-newtonian-behavior-of-oil-phase-on-oil-water-stratified-flow-in-a-horizontal-channel" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/79797.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">493</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4650</span> Numerical Simulation of Fluid Structure Interaction Using Two-Way Method</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Samira%20Laidaoui">Samira Laidaoui</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohammed%20Djermane"> Mohammed Djermane</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nazihe%20Terfaya"> Nazihe Terfaya</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The fluid-structure coupling is a natural phenomenon which reflects the effects of two continuums: fluid and structure of different types in the reciprocal action on each other, involving knowledge of elasticity and fluid mechanics. The solution for such problems is based on the relations of continuum mechanics and is mostly solved with numerical methods. It is a computational challenge to solve such problems because of the complex geometries, intricate physics of fluids, and complicated fluid-structure interactions. The way in which the interaction between fluid and solid is described gives the largest opportunity for reducing the computational effort. In this paper, a problem of fluid structure interaction is investigated with two-way coupling method. The formulation Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian (ALE) was used, by considering a dynamic grid, where the solid is described by a Lagrangian formulation and the fluid by a Eulerian formulation. The simulation was made on the ANSYS software. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ALE" title="ALE">ALE</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=coupling" title=" coupling"> coupling</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=FEM" title=" FEM"> FEM</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fluid-structure" title=" fluid-structure"> fluid-structure</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=interaction" title=" interaction"> interaction</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=one-way%20method" title=" one-way method"> one-way method</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=two-way%20method" title=" two-way method"> two-way method</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/36752/numerical-simulation-of-fluid-structure-interaction-using-two-way-method" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/36752.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">679</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4649</span> System Productivity Enhancement by Inclusion of Mungbean in Potato-Jute -T. A study was conducted in the farmers’ field during 2013-14 and 2014-15 to observe the performance of four-crop based improve cropping pattern Potato-Mungbean-Jute -t.aman rice against the existing cropping pattern Potato-Jute -t.aman rice at Domar, Nilphamari followed by randomized complete block design with three replications. Two years study revealed that inclusion of mungbean and better management practices in improved cropping pattern provided higher economic benefit over the existing pattern by 73.1%. Moreover, the average yield of potato increased in the improved pattern by 64.3% compared to the existing pattern; however yield of jute and t.aman rice in improved pattern declined by 5.6% and 10.7% than the existing pattern, respectively. Nevertheless, the additional yield of mungbean in the improved pattern helped to increase rice equivalent yield of the whole pattern by 38.7% over the existing pattern. Thus, the addition of mungbean in the existing pattern Potato-Jute -t.aman rice seems to be profitable for the farmers and also might be sustainable if the market channel of mungbean developed. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=crop%20diversity" title="crop diversity">crop diversity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=food%20nutrition" title=" food nutrition"> food nutrition</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=production%20efficiency" title=" production efficiency"> production efficiency</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=yield%20improvement" title=" yield improvement"> yield improvement</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/84711/system-productivity-enhancement-by-inclusion-of-mungbean-in-potato-jute-t-aman-rice-cropping-pattern" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/84711.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">194</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4648</span> Validation of a Fluid-Structure Interaction Model of an Aortic Dissection versus a Bench Top Model</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=K.%20Khanafer">K. Parameters of the turbine have to be comprised in the designing process for obtaining hydraulic turbine with the highest efficiency during different operating conditions. The present investigation applied three-dimensional computational fluid dynamics (CFD). In addition, the bucket of Pelton turbine models with different splitter angle and inlet velocity values were examined for determining the force and visualizing the flow pattern on the bucket. The study utilized two diverse bucket models at various inlet velocities (20, 25, 30,35and 40m/s) and four different splitter angles (55, 75,90and 115 degree) for finding out the impacts of every single parameter on the effective force on the bucket. However, elevating the values of the Coriolis force helps to lag the onset of convection in a system. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Benard%20convection" title="Benard convection">Benard convection</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=binary%20fluid" title=" binary fluid"> binary fluid</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Coriolis" title=" Coriolis"> Coriolis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Soret" title=" Soret "> Soret </a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/68076/soret-driven-convection-in-a-binary-fluid-with-coriolis-force" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/68076.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">386</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4643</span> Introduction of the Fluid-Structure Coupling into the Force Analysis Technique</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Oc%C3%A9ane%20Grosset">Océane Grosset</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Charles%20P%C3%A9zerat"> Charles Pézerat</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jean-Hugh%20Thomas"> Jean-Hugh Thomas</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Fr%C3%A9d%C3%A9ric%20Ablitzer"> Frédéric Ablitzer</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This paper presents a method to take into account the fluid-structure coupling into an inverse method, the Force Analysis Technique (FAT). The blood is treated as Newtonian fluid and the arterial wall is considered to be rigid having deposition of plaque in its lumen. For direct numerical simulation, vorticity-stream function formulation has been adopted to solve the problem using implicit finite difference method by developing well known Peaceman-Rachford Alternating Direction Implicit (ADI) scheme. The effects of magnetic parameter and Reynolds number on velocity and wall shear stress are being studied and presented quantitatively over the entire arterial segment. The streamlines have been plotted to understand the flow pattern in the stenosed artery, which has significant alterations in the downstream of the stenosis in the presence of magnetic field. The results show that there are nominal changes in the flow pattern when magnetic field strength is enhanced upto 8T which can have remarkable usage to MRI machines. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=magnetohydrodynamics" title="magnetohydrodynamics">magnetohydrodynamics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=blood%20flow" title=" blood flow"> blood flow</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=stenosis" title=" stenosis"> stenosis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=energy%20dissipation" title=" energy dissipation"> energy dissipation</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/54085/numerical-simulation-of-magnetohydrodynamic-mhd-blood-flow-in-a-stenosed-artery" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/54085.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">276</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4640</span> Aspects Concerning Flame Propagation of Various Fuels in Combustion Chamber of Four Valve Engines</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Zoran%20Jovanovic">Zoran Jovanovic</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Zoran%20Masonicic"> Zoran Masonicic</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=S.%20Dragutinovic"> S. Flame propagation was represented by the evolution of spatial distribution of temperature in various cut-planes within combustion chamber while the flame front location was determined by dint of zones with maximum temperature gradient. The results presented are only a small part of broader on-going scrutinizing activity in the field of multidimensional modeling of reactive flows in combustion chambers with complicated geometries encompassing various models of turbulence, different fuels and combustion models. In the case of turbulence two different models were applied i.e. standard k-ε model of turbulence and k-ξ-f model of turbulence. In this paper flame propagation results were analyzed and presented for two different hydrocarbon fuels, such as CH4 and C8H18. In the case of combustion all differences ensuing from different turbulence models, obvious for non-reactive flows are annihilated entirely. Namely the interplay between fluid flow pattern and flame propagation is invariant as regards turbulence models and fuels applied. Namely the interplay between fluid flow pattern and flame propagation is entirely invariant as regards fuel variation indicating that the flame propagation through unburned mixture of CH4 and C8H18 fuels is not chemically controlled. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=automotive%20flows" title="automotive flows">automotive flows</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=flame%20propagation" title=" flame propagation"> flame propagation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=combustion%20modelling" title=" combustion modelling"> combustion modelling</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=CNG" title=" CNG"> CNG</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/47372/aspects-concerning-flame-propagation-of-various-fuels-in-combustion-chamber-of-four-valve-engines" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/47372.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">293</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4639</span> Predictions of Thermo-Hydrodynamic State for Single and Three Pads Gas Foil Bearings Operating at Steady-State Based on Multi-Physics Coupling Computer Aided Engineering Simulations</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tai%20Yuan%20Yu">Tai Yuan Yu</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Pei-Jen%20Wang"> Pei-Jen Wang</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Oil-free turbomachinery is considered one of the critical technologies for future green power generation systems as rotor machinery systems. Oil-free technology allows clean, compact, and maintenance-free working, and gas foil bearings, abbreviated as GFBs, are important for the technology. Since the first applications in the auxiliary power units and air cycle machines in the 1970s, obvious improvement has been created to the computational models for dynamic rotor behavior. However, many technical issues are still poorly understood or remain unsolved, and some of those are thermal management and the pattern of how pressure will be distributed in bearing clearance. This paper presents a three-dimensional, abbreviated as 3D, fluid-structure interaction model of single pad foil bearings and three pad foil bearings to predict bearing working behavior that researchers could compare characteristics of those. The coupling analysis model involves dynamic working characteristics applied to all the gas film and mechanical structures. Therefore, the elastic deformation of foil structure and the hydrodynamic pressure of gas film can both be calculated by a finite element method program. As a result, the temperature distribution pattern could also be iteratively solved by coupling analysis. In conclusion, the working fluid state in a gas film of various pad forms of bearings working characteristic at constant rotational speed for both can be solved for comparisons with the experimental results. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fluid-structure%20interaction" title="fluid-structure interaction">fluid-structure interaction</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multi-physics%20simulations" title=" multi-physics simulations"> multi-physics simulations</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=gas%20foil%20bearing" title=" gas foil bearing"> gas foil bearing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=oil-free" title=" oil-free"> oil-free</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=transient%20thermo-hydrodynamic" title=" transient thermo-hydrodynamic"> transient thermo-hydrodynamic</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/143582/predictions-of-thermo-hydrodynamic-state-for-single-and-three-pads-gas-foil-bearings-operating-at-steady-state-based-on-multi-physics-coupling-computer-aided-engineering-simulations" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/143582.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">163</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4638</span> Vibration Analysis of Pendulum in a Viscous Fluid by Analytical Methods</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Arash%20Jafari">Arash Jafari</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mehdi%20Taghaddosi"> Mehdi Taghaddosi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Azin%20Parvin"> Azin Parvin</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In this study, a vibrational differential equation governing on swinging single-degree-of-freedom pendulum in a viscous fluid has been investigated. The performance of the product needs to be considered under both structural and fluid loads. Examples include ducts and valves where structural behavior affects fluid motion and vice versa. Simulation of fluid-structure interaction involves modeling interaction between moving components and the fluid flow. In these scenarios, it is difficult to calculate the damping provided by fluid flow because of dynamic motions of components and the transient nature of the flow. Abaqus Explicit offers general capabilities for modeling fluid-structure interaction with the Coupled Eulerian-Lagrangian (CEL) method. The Coupled Eulerian-Lagrangian technique has been used to simulate fluid spillage through fuel valves during dynamic closure events. The technique to simulate pressure drops across Eulerian domains has been developed using stagnation pressure. Also, the fluid flow is calculated considering material flow through elements at the outlet section of the valves. The methodology has been verified on Eaton products and shows a good correlation with the test results. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Coupled%20Eulerian-Lagrangian%20Technique" title="Coupled Eulerian-Lagrangian Technique">Coupled Eulerian-Lagrangian Technique</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fluid%20structure%20interaction" title=" fluid structure interaction"> fluid structure interaction</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=spillage%20prediction" title=" spillage prediction"> spillage prediction</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=stagnation%20pressure" title=" stagnation pressure"> stagnation pressure</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/56823/spillage-prediction-using-fluid-structure-interaction-simulation-with-coupled-eulerian-lagrangian-technique" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/56823.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">379</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4636</span> Numerical Investigation of Pressure and Velocity Field Contours of Dynamics of Drop Formation</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Pardeep%20Bishnoi">Pardeep Bishnoi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mayank%20Srivastava"> Mayank Srivastava</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mrityunjay%20Kumar%20Sinha"> Mrityunjay Kumar Sinha</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This article represents the numerical investigation of the pressure and velocity field variation of the dynamics of pendant drop formation through a capillary tube. The damping force could be estimated through computational analysis using finite element and computational fluid dynamics analysis. The double-ended damper operates without changing the total volume of fluid. In this paper, damping force of double ended damper under different magnetic field is computed. Initially, the magneto-statics analysis carried out to evaluate the magnetic flux density across the fluid flow gap. The respective change in the rheology of the MR fluid is computed by using the experimentally fitted polynomial equation of shear stress versus magnetic field plot of MR fluid. The obtained values are substituted in the Herschel Buckley model to express the non-Newtonian behavior of MR fluid. Later, using computational fluid dynamic (CFD) analysis damping characteristics in terms of force versus velocity and force versus displacement for the respective magnetic field is estimated. Information must be well designed in such a way that would positively influence employees’ job performance as this is essential in any agricultural organizations. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=communication%20pattern" title="communication pattern">communication pattern</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=job%20performance" title=" job performance"> job performance</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=agricultural%20employees" title=" agricultural employees"> agricultural employees</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=constraint" title=" constraint"> constraint</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=administrators" title=" administrators"> administrators</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=attitude" title=" attitude "> attitude </a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/31891/effect-of-communication-pattern-on-agricultural-employees-job-performance" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/31891.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">362</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">4632</span> A Review Of Blended Wing Body And Slender Delta Wing Performance Utilizing Experimental Techniques And Computational Fluid Dynamics</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Abhiyan%20Paudel">Abhiyan Paudel</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Maheshwaran%20M%20Pillai"> Maheshwaran M Pillai</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This paper deals with the optimization and comparison of slender delta wing and blended wing body. The objective is to study the difference between the two wing types and analyze the various aerodynamic characteristics of both of these types. The blended-wing body is an aircraft configuration that has the potential to be more efficient than conventional large transport aircraft configurations with the same capability. The purported advantages of the BWB approach are efficient high-lift wings and a wide airfoil-shaped body. Similarly, symmetric separation vortices over slender delta wing may become asymmetric as the angle of attack is increased beyond a certain value, causing asymmetric forces even at symmetric flight conditions. The transition of the vortex pattern from being symmetric to asymmetric over symmetric bodies under symmetric flow conditions is a fascinating fluid dynamics problem and of major importance for the performance and control of high-maneuverability flight vehicles that favor the use of slender bodies. With the use of Star CCM, we analyze both the fluid properties. The CL, CD and CM were investigated in steady state CFD of BWB at Mach 0.3 and through wind tunnel experiments on 1/6th model of BWB at Mach 0.1. From CFD analysis pressure variation, Mach number contours and turbulence area was observed. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a
