and I will reveal<MH1540> to them an abundance<MH6283> of peace<MH7965> and truth<MH571>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/jeremiah/33-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>And I will restore<MH7725> the fortunes<MH7622> of Judah<MH3063> and the fortunes<MH7622> of Israel<MH3478>, and will rebuild<MH1129> them as <i>they were</i> at first<MH7223>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/jeremiah/33-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>And I will cleanse<MH2891> them from all<MH3605> their wrongdoing<MH5771> by which<MH834> they have sinned<MH2398> against Me, and I will forgive<MH5545> all<MH3605> their wrongdoings<MH5771> by which<MH834> they have sinned<MH2398> against Me and revolted<MH6586> against Me. <span class="reftext"><a href="/jeremiah/33-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span><span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[d]</a></span>It will be to Me a name<MH8034> of joy<MH8342>, praise<MH8416>, and glory<MH8597> before all<MH3605> the nations<MH1471> of the earth<MH776>, which<MH834> will hear<MH8085> of all<MH3605> the good<MH2899b> that I do<MH6213a> for them, and they will be frightened<MH6342> and tremble<MH7264> because<MH5921> of all<MH3605> the good<MH2899b> and all<MH3605> the peace<MH7965> that I make<MH6213a> for it.’ <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/jeremiah/33-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>“This<MH3541> is<MH3541> what<MH3541> the LORD<MH3068> says<MH559>: ‘<i>Yet</i> again<MH5750> there will be heard<MH8085> in this<MH2088> place<MH4725>, of which<MH834> you say<MH559>, “It is a waste<MH2720b>, without<MH369> man<MH120> and without<MH369> animal<MH929>,” <i>that is,</i> in the cities<MH5892b> of Judah<MH3063> and in the streets<MH2351> of Jerusalem<MH3389> that are deserted<MH8074>, without<MH369> man<MH120> and without<MH369> inhabitant<MH3427> and without<MH369> animal<MH929>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/jeremiah/33-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>the voice<MH6963> of joy<MH8342> and the voice<MH6963> of gladness<MH8057>, the voice<MH6963> of the groom<MH2860a> and the voice<MH6963> of the bride<MH3618>, the voice<MH6963> of those who say<MH559>, <p class="indent1stline">“Give<MH3034> thanks<MH3034> to the LORD<MH3068> of armies<MH6635>, <t><p class="indent1">For the LORD<MH3068> is good<MH2896a>, <t><p class="indent1">For His mercy<MH2617a> is everlasting<MH5769>,” <p class="R">as they bring<MH935> a thanksgiving<MH8426> offering<MH8426> into the house<MH1004> of the LORD<MH3068>. For I will restore<MH7725> the fortunes<MH7622> of the land<MH776> as <i>they were</i> at first<MH7223>,’ says<MH559> the LORD<MH3068>. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/jeremiah/33-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>“This<MH3541> is<MH3541> what<MH3541> the LORD<MH3068> of armies<MH6635> says<MH559>: ‘There will again<MH5750> be in this<MH2088> place<MH4725> which is waste<MH2720b>, without<MH4480, 369> man<MH120> or animal<MH929>, and in all<MH3605> its cities<MH5892b>, a pasture<MH5116a> for shepherds<MH7462a> who rest<MH7257> their flocks<MH6629>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/jeremiah/33-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>In the cities<MH5892b> of the hill<MH2022> country<MH2022>, in the cities<MH5892b> of the lowland<MH8219>, in the cities<MH5892b> of the Negev<MH5045>, in the land<MH776> of Benjamin<MH1144>, in the areas<MH5439> surrounding<MH5439> Jerusalem<MH3389>, and in the cities<MH5892b> of Judah<MH3063>, the flocks<MH6629> will again<MH5750> pass<MH5674a> under<MH5921> the hands<MH3027> of the one who counts<MH4487> them,’ says<MH559> the LORD<MH3068>. <p class="hdg">The Davidic Kingdom</p><p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/jeremiah/33-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>‘Behold<MH2009>, days<MH3117> are coming<MH935>,’ declares<MH5002> the LORD<MH3068>, ‘when I will fulfill<MH6965> the good<MH2896a> word<MH1697> which<MH834> I have spoken<MH1696> concerning<MH413> the house<MH1004> of Israel<MH3478> and the house<MH1004> of Judah<MH3063>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/jeremiah/33-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>In those<MH1992a> days<MH3117> and at that time<MH6256> I will make a righteous<MH6666> Branch<MH6780> of David<MH1732> sprout<MH6779>; and He shall execute<MH6213a> justice<MH4941> and righteousness<MH6666> on the earth<MH776>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/jeremiah/33-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>In those<MH1992a> days<MH3117> Judah<MH3063> will be saved<MH3467> and Jerusalem<MH3389> will live<MH7931> in safety<MH983>; and this<MH2088> is <i>the name</i> by which<MH834> it will be called<MH7121>: the LORD<MH3068> is our righteousness<MH6664>.’ <span class="reftext"><a href="/jeremiah/33-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>For this<MH3541> is<MH3541> what<MH3541> the LORD<MH3068> says<MH559>: ‘<span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[e]</a></span>David<MH1732> shall not lack<MH3772> a man<MH376> to sit<MH3427> on the throne<MH3678> of the house<MH1004> of Israel<MH3478>; <span class="reftext"><a href="/jeremiah/33-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span><span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[f]</a></span>and the Levitical<MH3881> priests<MH3548> shall not lack<MH3772> a man<MH376> before<MH4480, 6440> Me to offer<MH5927> burnt<MH5930a> offerings<MH5930a>, to burn<MH6999> grain offerings<MH4503>, and to prepare<MH6213a> sacrifices<MH2077> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[g]</a></span>continually<MH3605, 3117>.’” <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/jeremiah/33-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>And the word<MH1697> of the LORD<MH3068> came<MH1961> to Jeremiah<MH3414>, saying<MH559>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/jeremiah/33-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>“This<MH3541> is<MH3541> what<MH3541> the LORD<MH3068> says<MH559>: ‘If<MH518> you can break<MH6565a> My covenant<MH1285> for the day<MH3117> and My covenant<MH1285> for the night<MH3915>, so that day<MH3119> and night<MH3915> do not occur<MH1961> at their proper<MH6256> time<MH6256>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/jeremiah/33-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span>then My covenant<MH1285> with David<MH1732> My servant<MH5650> may also<MH1571> be broken<MH6565a>, so that he will not have<MH1961> a son<MH1121> to reign<MH4427a> on his throne<MH3678>, and with the Levitical<MH3881> priests<MH3548>, My ministers<MH8334>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/jeremiah/33-22.htm"><b>22</b></a></span>As the heavenly<MH8064> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[h]</a></span>lights<MH6635> cannot<MH3808> be counted<MH5608>, and the sand<MH2344> of the sea<MH3220> cannot<MH3808> be measured<MH4058>, so<MH3651> I will multiply<MH7235a> the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[i]</a></span>descendants<MH2233> of My servant<MH5650> David<MH1732> and the Levites<MH3881> who serve<MH8334> Me.’” <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/jeremiah/33-23.htm"><b>23</b></a></span>And the word<MH1697> of the LORD<MH3068> came<MH1961> to Jeremiah<MH3414>, saying<MH559>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/jeremiah/33-24.htm"><b>24</b></a></span>“Have you not observed<MH7200> what<MH4100> these<MH2088> people<MH5971a> have asserted<MH1696>, saying<MH559>, ‘The two<MH8147> families<MH4940> which<MH834> the LORD<MH3068> chose<MH977>, He has rejected<MH3988a> them’? So they despise<MH5006> My people<MH5971a> as no<MH4480> longer<MH5750> being a nation<MH1471> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[j]</a></span>in their sight<MH6440>. <span class="reftext"><a href="/jeremiah/33-25.htm"><b>25</b></a></span>This<MH3541> is<MH3541> what<MH3541> the LORD<MH3068> says<MH559>: ‘If<MH518> My covenant<MH1285> <i>for</i> day<MH3119> and night<MH3915> <i>does</i> not <i>continue, and</i> I have not established<MH7760> the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[k]</a></span>fixed<MH2708> patterns<MH2708> of heaven<MH8064> and earth<MH776>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/jeremiah/33-26.htm"><b>26</b></a></span>then<MH1571> I would reject<MH3988a> the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[l]</a></span>descendants<MH2233> of Jacob<MH3290> and David<MH1732> My servant<MH5650>, so<MH4480> as<MH4480> not<MH4480> to take<MH3947> from his <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[m]</a></span>descendants<MH2233> rulers<MH4910> over<MH413> the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[n]</a></span>descendants<MH2233> of Abraham<MH85>, Isaac<MH3327>, and Jacob<MH3290>.
