Pierce markets. But the one that draws the fine is related to classic hits WOLL, Hobe Sound (105.5), and Clear Channel’s role in operating it while it was still technically owned by the Aloha Station Trust. Among the evidence brought by Vero Beach Broadcasting: rate cards that combined CC’s WSYR-FM and WCZR with WOLL. The FCC says there are gray areas, but in <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20091124030133/http://hraunfoss.fcc.gov/edocs_public/attachmatch/DA-09-2469A1.pdf">paragraph 42 of this decision</a> it concludes that while “the rate cards, EEO website postings and PSAs might evidence carelessness and a lack of attention to detail…coupled with the facts that Aloha operates its stations using staff also employed by Clear Channel and with equipment owned by Clear Channel, these…irregularities indicate” that the company failed to separate its own stations from Aloha. Media companies have been aggressive about staking out a position at all of these locations. For iPhone users, accessing radio has been something they’ve been doing for a long time. The only difference is that they access it via apps and streams.
