What is an old account? Shall I upgrade?</h3> <p>Since January 2010, you can log in to Panoramio using your Google Account (e.g., using your GMail or Picasa username and password). Google Accounts is a unified sign in system that gives you access to several Google products including Panoramio with a single username and password. Not all Google Accounts use Panoramio. The first time you sign in with you Google Account you are asked to choose a unique <em>name</em> for your user in Panoramio. By choosing that name your Google Account becomes also a Panoramio account.</p> <p>If you have signed up for Panoramio earlier you have an <em>old account</em> which is not a Google Account. However, if you wish to upgrade your old account to a Google Account you can do so, by clicking on the <strong>Upgrade to Google Account</strong> button on your user page. If the button is not available you are already signed in to Panoramio with your Google Account. During the upgrade you are given the opportunity to link your <em>old account</em> to an existing Google Account or create a new one. Upgrading gives you the advantage to use the same login credentials for Panoramio and for other Google products. We encourage you to upgrade, as in the future there are going to be features that are, due to technical reasons, will only be available for Google Accounts.</p> <h3 id="upgrade_to_ga">What will change if I upgrade?</h3> <p>Almost nothing. Here are the changes:</p> <ul> <li>You will not be able to sign in with your old email and password, you will have to use your Google Account email and password (which might be the same, of course). </li> <li>Your email notifications will be sent to your Google Account email address.</li> <li>If you need to change your sign in email or password you will need to do it on the Google Accounts site.</li> <li>You will soon be able to use features on Panoramio that requires Google Accounts.</li> </ul> <h3 id="signin_problems">If you can't sign in</h3> <p>If you have problems signing in after you've signed up, see whether any of these issues are causing the problem:</p> <ul> <li>You're using the wrong email address or password. Refer to <a href="#forgot_password">If you forgot your registered email address or password</a></li> <li>You might have entered a typo in the email address you originally provided when you first created your Panoramio account. If you are now typing the correct address, a mismatch occurs. If this seems to be the case and you have a Google Account -which you were unable to verify due to the typo-, you can change you email address by <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20161102122339/https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/3260">following the instructions here</a>. Try these techniques: <ul> <li>In your browser, set the privacy settings to accept cookies from panoramio.com and google.com.</li> <li>In your anti-virus software, add panoramio.com and google.com to your list of trusted sites.</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p>If you have a Google Account you can find further instructions about <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20161102122339/http://www.google.com/support/accounts/">signing in.</a></p> <p>If your problems continue, post your question to the <a href="/web/20161102122339/http://www.panoramio.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=1">Help forum</a> (mostly English) or to the <a href="/web/20161102122339/http://www.panoramio.com/forum">forums in other languages</a>.</p> <h3 id="forgot_password">If you forgot your registered email address or password</h3> <p>If you forgot your password, go to the <a href="/web/20161102122339/http://www.panoramio.com/forgot_password">Forgot your password?</a> form and type the Email address associated to your Panoramio account in the <strong>Email address</strong> text box.</p> <p>If you forgot the email address that you used for signing up to Panoramio you can also enter your <strong>user id</strong> in the <strong>Email address</strong> text box.</p> <p>Your <strong>user id</strong> is the number you can see in the URL of Panoramio when you visit your user page. For example, if you go to http://www.panoramio.com/user/3616830 the <strong>user id</strong> is 3616830.</p> <p>If you do not remember your user id, you can go to Google Earth or Google Maps and look for a photo you uploaded. If you open the photo in a browser you will have a URL similar to http://www.panoramio.com/photo/61847651 Under the photo you will see your username. If you click on it you will see that the URL changes to http://www.panoramio.com/user/<strong>3616830</strong>?with_photo_id=61847651. The first number is the user id.</p> <p>After entering the <strong>Email address</strong> or the <strong>user id</strong> in the <a href="/web/20161102122339/http://www.panoramio.com/forgot_password">Forgot your password?</a> form, we will send an email to the email address associated to the Panoramio account with a link to reset the password. We can only help if you have access to the email address associated to your Panoramio account.</p> <h3 id="change_details">If you want to change your name, email address, or password</h3> <p>You can change any of your personal account information, but you must be signed in.</p> <p>To change your information, go to the <strong>Your Photos</strong> page and click <strong>Settings</strong>. You can then change your name, email address, or password.</p> <h3 id="unverified_account">If you have an unverified account</h3> <p>If you just signed up to Panoramio with a non-GMail email address you probably have an unverified account. Please verify your account by following the instructions sent by email. You will not receive any email notification for new comments and photos until you verify your account.
