web browser through its <a href="https://discord.com/app" target="_blank">web version</a>. It has a desktop application (downloadable from their website) and an mobile app for the most common operating systems. </p> <p><b>Register on Discord</b></br> If you don’t already have a Discord account, you can easily register through their website or through their application on any device. You will only need an email address, a username and a password. </p> <p><b>Discord Structure</b></br> In addition to direct messages to other users, Discord works through servers. A server is, in essence, a set of channels. There are two kinds of channels: text channels (marked with a ‘#’ symbol) and voice channels (marked with a loudspeaker icon). Text channels are basically chatrooms, while voice channels allow users in the same channel to use their microphones to communicate to each other with their voices. </p> <p><b>Access to the SEMF Discord Server</b></br> Once you have registered as a user on Discord, you can join the SEMF server by following the link provided in the confirmation email after you <a href="https://semf.org.es/participate/join.html">joined SEMF</a>. You can also join directly from the Discord app by clicking the ‘+’ symbol on the left hand side of the screen (within the three horizontal bar menu on the top left in handheld devices), selecting ‘Join a Server’ and pasting the link. </p> <p><b>Nickname and Status in our Server</b></br> To facilitate communication between users in our server, we ask our subscribers to change their nickname to their real name and to set a status outlining who they are, what their interests are, and other relevant information they would be willing to share.
