Change agents and leaders will need a new paradigm of thinking for creative problem solving and innovation in a time of uncertainty. A new framework that is developed from Design Science Research foundations with holistic design thinking methodologies (HTDM) and action research approaches has been developed through Dr. Jaber’s research. It combines these philosophies into a three-step process that can be utilized in practice for any sustainability, change, or project management applications. This framework was developed to assist in the pedagogy for the implementation of her holistic strategy formalized framework Integral Design Thinking (IDT). Her work focuses on real world application for the streamlining and adoption of initiatives into organizational culture transformation. This paper will discuss the foundations of this philosophy and the methods for utilization in practice developed in Dr. Jaber's research. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=design%20science%20research" title="design science research">design science research</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=action%20research" title=" action research"> action research</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=critical%20thinking" title=" critical thinking"> critical thinking</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=design%20thinking" title=" design thinking"> design thinking</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=organizational%20transformation" title=" organizational transformation"> organizational transformation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sustainability%20management" title=" sustainability management"> sustainability management</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=organizational%20culture%20change" title=" organizational culture change"> organizational culture change</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/143518/bringing-design-science-research-methodology-into-real-world-applications" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/143518.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">181</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">59</span> Optimization of Robot Motion Planning Using Biogeography Based Optimization (Bbo)</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jaber%20Nikpouri">Jaber Nikpouri</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Arsalan%20Amralizadeh"> Arsalan Amralizadeh</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In robotics manipulators, the trajectory should be optimum, thus the torque of the robot can be minimized in order to save power. Installing an emergency response network capable of providing a commensurate response is one of the primary levers to contain (or mitigate) the adverse consequences from rail hazmat incidents. To this end, we propose a two-stage stochastic program to determine the location of and equipment packages to be stockpiled at each response facility. The raw input data collected from publicly available reports were processed, fed into the proposed optimization program, and then tested on a realistic railroad network in Ontario (Canada). From the resulting analyses, we conclude that the decisions based only on empirical datasets would undermine the effectiveness of the resulting network; coverage can be improved by redistributing equipment in the network, purchasing equipment with higher containment capacity, and making use of a disutility multiplier factor. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hazmat" title="hazmat">hazmat</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=rail%20network" title=" rail network"> rail network</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=stochastic%20programming" title=" stochastic programming"> stochastic programming</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=emergency%20response" title=" emergency response"> emergency response</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/118793/designing-emergency-response-network-for-rail-hazmat-shipments" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/118793.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">182</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">56</span> Switched Ultracapacitors for Maximizing Energy Supply</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nassouh%20K.%20Jaber">Nassouh K. Unfortunately, when the voltage of the S.C supplying the inverter reaches the minimal threshold of 7-8VDC the inverter shuts down leaving the remaining 40% of the valuable energy stored inside the ultracapacitor un-usable. In this work a power electronic circuit is proposed which switches 2 banks of supercapacitors from parallel connection when both are fully charged at 14VDC to serial connection when their voltages drop down to 7 volts, thus keeping the inverter working within its operating limits for a longer time and advantageously tapping almost 92% of the stored energy in the supercapacitors. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ultra%20capacitor" title="ultra capacitor">ultra capacitor</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=switched%20ultracapacitors" title=" switched ultracapacitors"> switched ultracapacitors</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=inverter" title=" inverter"> inverter</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=supercapacitor" title=" supercapacitor"> supercapacitor</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=parallel%20connection" title=" parallel connection"> parallel connection</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=serial%20connection" title=" serial connection"> serial connection</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=battery%20limitation" title=" battery limitation"> battery limitation</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/12182/switched-ultracapacitors-for-maximizing-energy-supply" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/12182.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">412</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">55</span> Triple Immunotherapy to Overcome Immune Evasion by Tumors in a Melanoma Mouse Model</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mary-Ann%20N.%20Jallad">Mary-Ann N. Abdelnoor</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Introduction: Current evidence confirms that both innate and adaptive immune systems are capable of recognizing and abolishing malignant cells. The emergence of cancerous tumors in patients is, therefore, an indication that certain cancer cells can resist elimination by the immune system through a process known as “immune evasion”. In fact, cancer cells often exploit regulatory mechanisms to escape immunity. Such mechanisms normally exist to control the immune responses and prohibit exaggerated or autoimmune reactions. Recently, immunotherapies have shown promising yet limited results. Therefore this study investigates several immunotherapeutic combinations and devises a triple immunotherapy which harnesses the innate and acquired immune responses towards the annihilation of malignant cells through overcoming their ability of immune evasion, consequently hampering malignant progression and eliminating established tumors. The aims of the study are to rule out acute/chronic toxic effects of the proposed treatment combinations, to assess the effect of these combinations on tumor growth and survival rates, and to investigate potential mechanisms underlying the phenotypic results through analyzing serum levels of anti-tumor cytokines, angiogenic factors and tumor progression indicator, and the tumor-infiltrating immune-cells populations. Methodology: For toxicity analysis, cancer-free C57BL/6 mice are randomized into 9 groups: Group 1 untreated, group 2 treated with sterile saline (solvent of used treatments), group 3 treated with Monophosphoryl-lipid-A, group 4 with anti-CTLA4-antibodies, group 5 with 1-Methyl-Tryptophan (Indolamine-Dioxygenase-1 inhibitor), group 6 with both MPLA and anti-CTLA4-antibodies, group 7 with both MPLA and 1-MT, group 8 with both anti-CTLA4-antibodies and 1-MT, and group 9 with all three: MPLA, anti-CTLA4-antibodies and 1-MT. Mice are monitored throughout the treatment period and for three following months. At that point, histological sections from their main organs are assessed. For tumor progression and survival analysis, a murine melanoma model is generated by injecting analogous mice with B16F10 melanoma cells. These mice are segregated into the listed nine groups. Their tumor size and survival are monitored. For a depiction of underlying mechanisms, melanoma-bearing mice from each group are sacrificed at several time-points. Sera are tested to assess the levels of Interleukin-12 (IL-12), Vascular-Endothelial-Growth Factor (VEGF), and S100B. Furthermore, tumors are excised for analysis of infiltrated immune cell populations including T-cells, macrophages, natural killer cells and immune-regulatory cells. Results: Toxicity analysis shows that all treated groups present no signs of neither acute nor chronic toxicity. Their appearance and weights were comparable to those of control groups throughout the treatment period and for the following 3 months. Moreover, histological sections from their hearts, kidneys, lungs, and livers were normal. Work is ongoing for completion of the remaining study aims. Conclusion: Toxicity was the major concern for the success of the proposed comprehensive combinational therapy. Data generated so far ruled out any acute or chronic toxic effects. Consequently, ongoing work is quite promising and may significantly contribute to the development of more effective immunotherapeutic strategies for the treatment of cancer patients. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cancer%20immunotherapy" title="cancer immunotherapy">cancer immunotherapy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=check-point%20blockade" title=" check-point blockade"> check-point blockade</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=combination%20therapy" title=" combination therapy"> combination therapy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=melanoma" title=" melanoma"> melanoma</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/98493/triple-immunotherapy-to-overcome-immune-evasion-by-tumors-in-a-melanoma-mouse-model" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/98493.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">122</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">54</span> Mechanized Harvest Impact on Reproductive Performance of Ewes of Some Villages</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jaber%20Jafarzadeh">Jaber Jafarzadeh</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The two nodes of treatment for the study of indirect effects on the reproductive performance of sheep farming machines used. This work shows through analysis that the Arithmetic sequence, e.g., 3, 6, 9, 12, etc., is more effective than the Fibonacci sequence in estimating the user stories. This paper mathematically and visually proves the effectiveness of the Arithmetic sequence over the FB sequence. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=agie" title="agie">agie</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=scrum" title=" scrum"> scrum</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=estimation" title=" estimation"> estimation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fibonacci%20sequence" title=" fibonacci sequence"> fibonacci sequence</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/145354/in-agile-projects-arithmetic-sequence-is-more-effective-than-fibonacci-sequence-to-use-for-estimating-the-implementation-effort-of-user-stories" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/145354.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">206</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">52</span> Failure Detection in an Edge Cracked Tapered Pipe Conveying Fluid Using Finite Element Method</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohamed%20Gaith">Mohamed Gaith</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Zaid%20Haddadin"> Zaid Haddadin</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Abdulah%20Wahbe"> Abdulah Wahbe</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mahmoud%20Hamam"> Mahmoud Hamam</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mahmoud%20Qunees"> Mahmoud Qunees</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohammad%20Al%20Khatib"> Mohammad Al Khatib</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohammad%20Bsaileh"> Mohammad Bsaileh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Abd%20Al-Aziz%20Jaber"> Abd Al-Aziz Jaber</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ahmad%20Aqra%E2%80%99a"> Ahmad Aqra’a</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The crack is one of the most common types of failure in pipelines that convey fluid, and early detection of the crack may assist to avoid the piping system from experiencing catastrophic damage, which would otherwise be fatal. Recycled concrete was obtained by replacing natural aggregates (NA) with recycled concrete aggregate (RCA) and recycled asphalt pavement (RAP) with replacement levels of 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, and 100% by the total weight of NA. In addition, RCA and RAP were incorporated in the same mixes with replacement levels of (1) 20% RCA and 80% RAP; (2) 40% RCA and 60% RAP; (3) 60% RCA and 40% RAP; and (4) 80% RCA and 20% RAP. A comparison between the experimental capacities and the theoretically predicted values according to Eurocode 4 (EC4) was made as well. Results proved that the ultimate capacity of composite beams decreased with the increase of recycled aggregate (RA) percentage and EC4 was conservative in predicting the ultimate capacity of composite beams. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=flexure" title="flexure">flexure</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=light%20gauge" title=" light gauge"> light gauge</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=recycled%20asphalt%20pavement" title=" recycled asphalt pavement"> recycled asphalt pavement</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=recycled%20concrete%20aggregate" title=" recycled concrete aggregate"> recycled concrete aggregate</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=steel%20tube" title=" steel tube"> steel tube</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/125387/flexural-behavior-of-light-gauge-steel-box-sections-filled-with-normal-and-recycled-aggregates-concrete" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/125387.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">199</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">48</span> A Novel Approach towards Test Case Prioritization Technique</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kamna%20Solanki">Kamna Solanki</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Yudhvir%20Singh"> Yudhvir Singh</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sandeep%20Dalal"> Sandeep Dalal</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Software testing is a time and cost intensive process. A scrutiny of the code and rigorous testing is required to identify and rectify the putative bugs. The process of bug identification and its consequent correction is continuous in nature and often some of the bugs are removed after the software has been launched in the market. This process of code validation of the altered software during the maintenance phase is termed as Regression testing. Regression testing ubiquitously considers resource constraints; therefore, the deduction of an appropriate set of test cases, from the ensemble of the entire gamut of test cases, is a critical issue for regression test planning. This paper presents a novel method for designing a suitable prioritization process to optimize fault detection rate and performance of regression test on predefined constraints. The proposed method for test case prioritization m-ACO alters the food source selection criteria of natural ants and is basically a modified version of Ant Colony Optimization (ACO). The proposed m-ACO approach has been coded in 'Perl' language and results are validated using three examples by computation of Average Percentage of Faults Detected (APFD) metric. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=regression%20testing" title="regression testing">regression testing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=software%20testing" title=" software testing"> software testing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=test%20case%20prioritization" title=" test case prioritization"> test case prioritization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=test%20suite%20optimization" title=" test suite optimization"> test suite optimization</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/25042/a-novel-approach-towards-test-case-prioritization-technique" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/25042.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">338</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">47</span> Moroccan Human Ecological Behavior: Grounded Theory Approach</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Dalal%20Tarfaoui">Dalal Tarfaoui</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Salah%20Zkim"> Salah Zkim</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Today, environmental sustainability is everyone’s concern as it contributes in many aspects to a country's development. Morocco is also aware of the increasing threats to its natural resources. Accordingly, many projects and research have been discussed pointing mainly to water security, pollution, desertification, and land degradation, but few studies bothered to dig into the human demeanor to disclose its ecological behavior. Human behavior is accountable for environment deterioration in the first place, but we keep fighting the symptoms instead of limiting the root causes. In the conceptual framework highlighted in the present article, semi-structured interviews have been conducted using a grounded theory approach. Initially this study will serve as a pilot study and a cornerstone to approve a bigger project now in progress. Beyond the existing general ecological measures (GEM), this study has chosen the grounded theory approach to bring out firsthand insights, and probe to which extent an ecological dimension exists in Morocco as a developing country. The discourse of the ecological behavior within the Moroccan context is seen in more realist, social, and community philosophy. The study has revealed an appreciative ecological behavior that is unfortunately repressed by variables beyond people’s control, which would prevent the people’s environmental good intentions to be translated into real ecological actions. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ecological%20behavior" title="ecological behavior">ecological behavior</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ecological%20dimension" title=" ecological dimension"> ecological dimension</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=variables%20beyond%20people%E2%80%99s%20control" title=" variables beyond people’s control"> variables beyond people’s control</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Morocco" title=" Morocco "> Morocco </a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/23571/moroccan-human-ecological-behavior-grounded-theory-approach" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/23571.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">495</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">46</span> Modification Encryption Time and Permutation in Advanced Encryption Standard Algorithm</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Dalal%20N.%20Hammod">Dalal N. AES has long gained global acceptance and is used for securing sensitive data in various industries but has suffered from slow processing and take a large time to transfer data. This paper suggests a method to enhance Advance Encryption Standard (AES) Algorithm based on time and permutation. The suggested method (MAES) is based on modifying the SubByte and ShiftRrows in the encryption part and modification the InvSubByte and InvShiftRows in the decryption part. After the implementation of the proposal and testing the results, the Modified AES achieved good results in accomplishing the communication with high performance criteria in terms of randomness, encryption time, storage space, and avalanche effects. The proposed method has good randomness to ciphertext because this method passed NIST statistical tests against attacks; also, (MAES) reduced the encryption time by (10 %) than the time of the original AES; therefore, the modified AES is faster than the original AES. Also, the proposed method showed good results in memory utilization where the value is (54.36) for the MAES, but the value for the original AES is (66.23). Also, the avalanche effects used for calculating diffusion property are (52.08%) for the modified AES and (51.82%) percentage for the original AES. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=modified%20AES" title="modified AES">modified AES</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=randomness%20test" title=" randomness test"> randomness test</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=encryption%20time" title=" encryption time"> encryption time</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=avalanche%20effects" title=" avalanche effects"> avalanche effects</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/139308/modification-encryption-time-and-permutation-in-advanced-encryption-standard-algorithm" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/139308.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">248</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">45</span> Evaluating Water Quality Index of Euphrates River South-West Part of Iraq, Najaf, Alhadaria by Using GIS Technique</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ali%20Abojassim">Ali Abojassim</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nabeel%20Kadhim"> Nabeel Kadhim</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Adil%20Jaber"> Adil Jaber</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ali%20Hussein"> Ali Hussein</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Water quality index (WQI) is valuable and unique rating to depict the total water quality status in a single term that is helpful for the selection of appropriate treatment technique to meet the concerned issues. The current study, therefore, evaluates the effectiveness of four various configurations for shear strengthening of deep beams with two different types of CFRP materials including sheets and laminates. For this purpose, a total of 10 specimens of deep beams were cast and tested. The shear performance of the strengthened beams is assessed with respect to the cracks’ formation, modes of failure, ultimate strength and the overall stiffness. The obtained results demonstrate the effectiveness of using the CFRP technique on enhancing the shear capacity of deep beams; however, the efficiency varies depending on the material used and the strengthening scheme adopted. Among the four investigated schemes, the highest increase in the ultimate strength is recorded by using the continuous wrap of two layers of CFRP sheets, exceeding a value of 86%, whereas an enhancement of about 36% is achieved by the inclined CFRP laminates. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=deep%20beams" title="deep beams">deep beams</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=laminates" title=" laminates"> laminates</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=shear%20strengthening" title=" shear strengthening"> shear strengthening</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sheets" title=" sheets"> sheets</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/55807/shear-strengthening-of-reinforced-concrete-deep-beams-using-carbon-fiber-reinforced-polymers" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/55807.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">360</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">43</span> Energy Detection Based Sensing and Primary User Traffic Classification for Cognitive Radio</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Urvee%20B.%20Trivedi">Urvee B. An emerging technology, cognitive radio has come out to solve today&rsquo;s spectrum scarcity problem. To support the spectrum reuse functionality, secondary users are required to sense the radio frequency environment, and once the primary users are found to be active, the secondary users are required to vacate the channel within a certain amount of time. Therefore, spectrum sensing is of significant importance. Once sensing is done, different prediction rules apply to classify the traffic pattern of primary user. Primary user follows two types of traffic patterns: periodic and stochastic ON-OFF patterns. A cognitive radio can learn the patterns in different channels over time. Two types of classification methods are discussed in this paper, by considering edge detection and by using autocorrelation function. Edge detection method has a high accuracy but it cannot tolerate sensing errors. Autocorrelation-based classification is applicable in the real environment as it can tolerate some amount of sensing errors. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=cognitive%20radio%20%28CR%29" title="cognitive radio (CR)">cognitive radio (CR)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=probability%20of%20detection%20%28PD%29" title=" probability of detection (PD)"> probability of detection (PD)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=probability%20of%20false%20alarm%20%28PF%29" title=" probability of false alarm (PF)"> probability of false alarm (PF)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=primary%20user%20%28PU%29" title=" primary user (PU)"> primary user (PU)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=secondary%20user%20%28SU%29" title=" secondary user (SU)"> secondary user (SU)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fast%20Fourier%20transform%20%28FFT%29" title=" fast Fourier transform (FFT)"> fast Fourier transform (FFT)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=signal%20to%20noise%20ratio%20%28SNR%29" title=" signal to noise ratio (SNR)"> signal to noise ratio (SNR)</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/45944/energy-detection-based-sensing-and-primary-user-traffic-classification-for-cognitive-radio" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/45944.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">345</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">42</span> The Quest for Palestinian Identity throughout Zayyad&#039;s Poetry</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Saleem%20Abu%20Jaber">Saleem Abu Jaber</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Khaled%20Igbaria"> Khaled Igbaria</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Tawfiq Zayyad was born in Nazareth in 1929 and died in 1994. He was a prominent Palestinian poet, writer, scholar and politician. He had participated in the Palestinian political life not only as a poet and writer but also as a mayor of Nazareth as well as a member of the Israeli Knesset. All of the above confirms not only that it is worthy to investigate deeply and academically Palestinian commitment and identity throughout poems of the poet, but also that the poet deserves to include him within the top significant Arab Palestinian poets in despite of his being Israeli citizen. This paper studies to what extent the poet was committed to the Palestinian goals and agenda throughout poetry as well as to explore the ways and techniques in which the poet employed poetry in order to explore the Palestinian belonging and identification of the Palestinians in Israel. Methodologically, this paper will literary analyze some considerable poems of the poet looking in-depth critically and objectively. Moreover, this article relies on several poems of the poet because they are much relevant to the aimed discussion. By addressing both commitment and identity, this article hopes to contribute to a fuller understanding of Palestinian poets of 1960s to 2000s. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tawfiq%20Zayyad" title="Tawfiq Zayyad">Tawfiq Zayyad</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Palestinian%20poetry" title=" Palestinian poetry"> Palestinian poetry</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=poetic%20commitment" title=" poetic commitment"> poetic commitment</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=poetic%20techniques" title=" poetic techniques"> poetic techniques</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/90126/the-quest-for-palestinian-identity-throughout-zayyads-poetry" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/90126.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">163</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">41</span> Solar Seawater Desalination Still with Seawater Preheater Using Efficient Heat Transfer Oil: Numerical Investigation and Data Verification</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ahmed%20N.%20Shmroukh">Ahmed N. Effects of silica sand particles which are available on the road surface as an environmental condition with a size varied from 150 &mu;m to 600 &mu;m are evaluated. Also, the vibration of the brake disc is examined against the friction material in humidity environment conditions under variable rotational speed. The experimental results showed that the silica sand particles have significant contribution on the value of vibration amplitude which enhances with increasing the size of silica sand particles at different speed conditions. Also, it is noticed that the friction material is sensitive to humidity and the vibration magnitude increases under wet testing conditions. Moreover, it can be reported that with increasing the applied pressure and rotational speed of the braking system, the vibration amplitudes decrease for all cases. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=disc%20brake%20vibration" title="disc brake vibration">disc brake vibration</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=friction-induced%20vibration" title=" friction-induced vibration"> friction-induced vibration</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=silica%20sand%20particles" title=" silica sand particles"> silica sand particles</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=brake%20operational%20and%20environmental%20conditions" title=" brake operational and environmental conditions"> brake operational and environmental conditions</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/101846/effects-of-humidity-and-silica-sand-particles-on-vibration-generation-by-friction-materials-of-automotive-brake-system" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/101846.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">151</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">39</span> Examination of Wall Art in Slums to Prevent Crime Case Study: Jabal Al-Natheef</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Dana%20Jaber">Dana Jaber</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lilian%20Mansor"> Lilian Mansor</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lilan%20Al-Nablsi"> Lilan Al-Nablsi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lujain%20Arabiat"> Lujain Arabiat</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mariam%20Attoun"> Mariam Attoun</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Preventing crime through environmental designs (CPTED) and situational crime prevention methods (SCP) are used to prevent crimes before they occur by anticipating people's actions and behavior in social situations. Many theories focused on wall art in preventing crimes, Graffiti, and situational crime prevention. The main aim of this research is to assess the wall art in slums and how it could avoid crimes by increasing surveillance by studying Jabal Al-Natheef—using a quantitative methodology to study the social life in the site and accumulate the intended actions to prevent crimes by using art. It was shown that the crimes in the area are severe, and they occur in slums due to the bad conditions, maintenance, and lack of surveillance. A finding of how people in the area would react to the art was a positive conclusion to how it could prevent the crimes. The research findings revealed that implementing wall art in slums would decrease the crimes in the area. This research concluded with a proposal to recommend implementing such skills to deter crimes. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=CPTED" title="CPTED">CPTED</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=situational%20crime%20prevention" title=" situational crime prevention"> situational crime prevention</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=wall%20art" title=" wall art"> wall art</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=slums" title=" slums"> slums</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/161807/examination-of-wall-art-in-slums-to-prevent-crime-case-study-jabal-al-natheef" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/161807.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">83</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">38</span> Modeling the Effect of Scale Deposition on Heat Transfer in Desalination Multi-Effect Distillation Evaporators </h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=K.%20Bourouni">K. Scale removal (by acid cleaning) is the main maintenance operation and constitutes the major reason for periodic plant shutdowns. A better understanding of scale deposition mechanisms will lead to an accurate determination of the variation of scale thickness around the tubes and an improved accuracy of the overall heat transfer coefficient calculation. In this paper, a coupled heat transfer-calcium carbonate scale deposition model on a horizontal tube bundle is presented. The developed tool is used to determine precisely the heat transfer area leading to a significant cost reduction for a given water production capacity. Simulations are carried to investigate the influence of different parameters such as water salinity, temperature, etc. on the heat transfer. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multi-effect-evaporator" title="multi-effect-evaporator">multi-effect-evaporator</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=scale%20deposition" title=" scale deposition"> scale deposition</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=water%20desalination" title=" water desalination"> water desalination</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=heat%20transfer%20coefficient" title=" heat transfer coefficient"> heat transfer coefficient</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/129259/modeling-the-effect-of-scale-deposition-on-heat-transfer-in-desalination-multi-effect-distillation-evaporators" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/129259.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">151</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">37</span> Gas-Liquid Flow Void Fraction Identification Using Slippage Number Froud Mixture Number Relation in Bubbly Flow</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jaber%20Masoud%20Alyami">Jaber Masoud Alyami</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Abdelsalam%20H.%20Alsrkhi"> Abdelsalam H. Yet, the introduction of dimensionless numbers used to grasp gas-liquid flow is a significant step in controlling and improving the multi-phase flow area. SL (Slippage number), for instance is a strong dimensionless number defined as a the ratio of the difference in gravitational forces between slip and no-slip conditions to the inertial force of the gas. The fact that plotting SL versus Frm provides a single acceptable curve for all of the data provided proves that SL may be used to realize the behavior of gas-liquid flow. This paper creates a numerical link between SL and Froud mixing number using vertical gas-liquid flow and then utilizes that relationship to validate its reliability in practice. An improved correlation in drift flux model generated from the experimental data and its rationality has been verified. The method in this paper is to approach for predicting the void fraction in bubbly flow through SL/Frm relation and the limitations of this method, as well as areas for development, are stated. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multiphase%20flow" title="multiphase flow">multiphase flow</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=gas-liquid%20flow" title=" gas-liquid flow"> gas-liquid flow</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=slippage" title=" slippage"> slippage</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=void%20farction" title=" void farction"> void farction</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/164960/gas-liquid-flow-void-fraction-identification-using-slippage-number-froud-mixture-number-relation-in-bubbly-flow" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/164960.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">85</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">36</span> 3D Modelling of Fluid Flow in Tunnel Kilns</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jaber%20H.%20Almutairi">Jaber H. The CFD simulations are carried out with the FLUENT software and validated against experimental results on fluid flow and heat transfer in tunnel kilns. A grid dependency study is conducted in the current work to improve the accuracy of the results. Three turbulence models k–ω, standard k–ε, and RNG k–ε are tested where k–ω model gives the best results in comparison with the experiment. The numerical results reveal an intriguing phenomenon where a long flow separation zone behind the setting is observed under different geometric and operation conditions. It was found that the uniformity of flow distribution can be substantially improved by rearranging the geometrical parameters of brick setting relative to kiln/setting. This improvement of flow distribution plays a critical role to enhance the quality and quantity of the production. It can be concluded that a better design and operation of tunnel kilns in terms of productivity and energy consumption can be obtained by taking into consideration the flow uniformity inside the tunnel kilns using CFD modelling. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=tunnel%20kilns" title="tunnel kilns">tunnel kilns</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=flow%20separation" title=" flow separation"> flow separation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=flow%20uniformity" title=" flow uniformity"> flow uniformity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=computational%20fluid%20dynamics" title=" computational fluid dynamics"> computational fluid dynamics</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/62902/3d-modelling-of-fluid-flow-in-tunnel-kilns" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/62902.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">329</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">35</span> Studies on Irrigation and Nutrient Interactions in Sweet Orange (Citrus sinensis Osbeck)</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=S.%20M.%20Jogdand">S. It is essential to devise Saudi National programs to educate the public about the relation of food balances and diabetes so it could be avoided, and provide citizens with healthy dietary balances tables. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Diabetes%20mellitus" title="Diabetes mellitus">Diabetes mellitus</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=food%20balance" title=" food balance"> food balance</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=energy" title=" energy"> energy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fat" title=" fat"> fat</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=protein" title=" protein"> protein</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Saudi%20Arabia" title=" Saudi Arabia"> Saudi Arabia</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/30259/diabetes-mellitus-and-food-balance-in-the-kingdom-of-saudi-arabia" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/30259.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">460</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">33</span> Hot Air Flow Annealing of MAPbI₃ Perovskite: Structural and Optical Properties </h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mouad%20Ouafi">Mouad Ouafi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lahoucine%20Atourki"> Lahoucine Atourki</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Larbi%20Laanab"> Larbi Laanab</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Erika%20Vega"> Erika Vega</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Miguel%20Mollar"> Miguel Mollar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bernabe%20Marib"> Bernabe Marib</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Boujemaa%20Jaber"> Boujemaa Jaber</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Despite the astonishing emergence of the methylammonium lead triiodide perovskite as a promising light harvester for solar cells, their physical properties in solution-processed MAPbI₃ are still crucial and need to be improved. The objective of this work is to investigate the hot airflow effect during the growth of MAPbI₃ films using the spin-coating process on their structural, optical and morphological proprieties. The experimental results show that many physical proprieties of the perovskite strongly depend on the air flow temperature and the optimization which has a beneficial effect on the perovskite quality. In fact, a clear improvement of the crystallinity and the crystallite size of MAPbI₃ perovskite is demonstrated by the XRD analyses, when the airflow temperature is increased up to 100°C. Alternatively, as far as the surface morphology is concerned, SEM micrographs show that significant homogenous nucleation, uniform surface distribution and pin holes free with highest surface coverture of 98% are achieved when the airflow temperature reaches 100°C. At this temperature, the improvement is also observed when considering the optical properties of the films. By contrast, a remarkable degradation of the MAPbI₃ perovskites associated to the PbI₂ phase formation is noticed, when the hot airflow temperature is higher than 100°C, especially 300°C. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hot%20air%20flow" title="hot air flow">hot air flow</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=crystallinity" title=" crystallinity"> crystallinity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=surface%20coverage" title=" surface coverage"> surface coverage</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=perovskite%20morphology" title=" perovskite morphology"> perovskite morphology</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/102435/hot-air-flow-annealing-of-mapbi3-perovskite-structural-and-optical-properties" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/102435.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">164</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">32</span> Carbonate Crusts in Jordan: Records of Groundwater Flow, Carbon Fluxes, Tectonic Movement and Climate Change</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nizar%20Abu-Jaber">Nizar Abu-Jaber</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Late Pleistocene and Holocene carbonate crusts in the south of Jordan were studied using a combination of field documentation, petrography, geochemical and isotopic techniques. These surficial crusts and vein deposits appear to have formed as a result of interaction between near-surface groundwater, surficial soil and sediments and rising carbon dioxide. Rising mantle CO2 dissolves in the water to create carbonic acid, which in turn dissolves the calcite in the soil in the sediments. When the pH rises later due to degassing, the carbonate crusts are left in the places where the water was flowing in veins, channels and interfaces between high and low permeability materials. The crusts have the potential for being important records of natural and human agencies on the landscape of the area. They reflect the isotopic composition of the waters in which they precipitated in, and also contain isotopic information about the aeolian calcium fluxes affecting the area (using strontium isotopes). Moreover, changing stream valley base levels can be identified and measured, which can help quantify the rates of tectonic movement. Finally, human activities such and channel construction and terrace building can be identified and traced temporally and spatially using these deposits. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=anthropogenic%20change" title="anthropogenic change">anthropogenic change</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=carbonate%20crusts" title=" carbonate crusts"> carbonate crusts</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=environmental%20change" title=" environmental change"> environmental change</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jordan" title=" Jordan"> Jordan</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/60842/carbonate-crusts-in-jordan-records-of-groundwater-flow-carbon-fluxes-tectonic-movement-and-climate-change" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/60842.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">280</span> </span> </div> </div> <ul class="pagination"> <li class="page-item disabled"><span class="page-link">&lsaquo;</span></li> <li class="page-item active"><span class="page-link">1</span></li> <li class="page-item"><a class="page-link" href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Dalal%20F.%20Jaber&amp;page=2">2</a></li> <li class="page-item"><a class="page-link" href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Dalal%20F.%20Jaber&amp;page=3">3</a></li> <li class="page-item"><a class="page-link" href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Dalal%20F.%20Jaber&amp;page=2" rel="next">&rsaquo;</a></li> </ul> </div> </main> <footer> <div id="infolinks" class="pt-3 pb-2"> <div class="container"> <div style="background-color:#f5f5f5;" class="p-3"> <div class="row"> <div class="col-md-2"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> About <li><a href="https://waset.org/page/support">About Us</a></li> <li><a href="https://waset.org/page/support#legal-information">Legal</a></li> <li><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://publications.waset.org/static/files/WASET-16th-foundational-anniversary.pdf">WASET celebrates its 16th foundational anniversary</a></li> </ul> </div> <div class="col-md-2"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> Account <li><a href="https://waset.org/profile">My Account</a></li> </ul> </div> <div class="col-md-2"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> Explore <li><a href="https://waset.org/disciplines">Disciplines</a></li> <li><a href="https://waset.org/conferences">Conferences</a></li> <li><a href="https://waset.org/conference-programs">Conference Program</a></li> <li><a href="https://waset.org/committees">Committees</a></li> <li><a href="https://publications.waset.org">Publications</a></li> </ul> </div> <div class="col-md-2"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> Research <li><a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts">Abstracts</a></li> <li><a href="https://publications.waset.org">Periodicals</a></li> <li><a href="https://publications.waset.org/archive">Archive</a></li> </ul> </div> <div class="col-md-2"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> Open Science <li><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://publications.waset.org/static/files/Open-Science-Philosophy.pdf">Open Science Philosophy</a></li> <li><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://publications.waset.org/static/files/Open-Science-Award.pdf">Open Science Award</a></li> <li><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://publications.waset.org/static/files/Open-Society-Open-Science-and-Open-Innovation.pdf">Open Innovation</a></li> <li><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://publications.waset.org/static/files/Postdoctoral-Fellowship-Award.pdf">Postdoctoral Fellowship Award</a></li> <li><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://publications.waset.org/static/files/Scholarly-Research-Review.pdf">Scholarly Research Review</a></li> </ul> </div> <div class="col-md-2"> <ul class="list-unstyled"> Support <li><a href="https://waset.org/page/support">Support</a></li> <li><a href="https://waset.org/profile/messages/create">Contact Us</a></li> <li><a href="https://waset.org/profile/messages/create">Report Abuse</a></li> </ul> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="container text-center"> <hr style="margin-top:0;margin-bottom:.3rem;"> <a href="https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/" target="_blank" class="text-muted small">Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License</a> <div id="copy" class="mt-2">&copy;
