<span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/38-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span>Persia<MH6539>, <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[c]</a></span>Cush<MH3568a>, and Put<MH6316> with them, all<MH3605> of them <i>with</i> buckler<MH4043> and helmet<MH3553>; <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/38-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>Gomer<MH1586> with all<MH3605> its troops<MH102>; Beth-togarmah<MH1004, 8425> <i>from</i> the remote<MH3411> parts<MH3411> of the north<MH6828> with all<MH3605> its troops<MH102>—many<MH7227a> peoples<MH5971a> with you. <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/38-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span>“Be<MH3559> ready<MH3559>, and be<MH3559> prepared<MH3559>, you and all<MH3605> your contingents<MH6951> that are assembled<MH6950> around<MH5921> you, and be a guard<MH4929> for them. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/38-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span>After<MH4480> many<MH7227a> days<MH3117> you will be summoned<MH6485>; in the latter<MH319> years<MH8141> you will come<MH935> into the land<MH776> that is restored<MH7725> from the sword<MH2719>, <i>whose inhabitants</i> have been gathered<MH6908> from many<MH7227a> <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[d]</a></span>nations<MH5971a> to the mountains<MH2022> of Israel<MH3478> which<MH834> had been<MH1961> a continual<MH8548> place<MH2723> of<MH2723> ruins<MH2723>; but <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[e]</a></span>its people were brought<MH3318> out<MH3318> from the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[f]</a></span>nations<MH5971a>, and they are living<MH3427> securely<MH983>, all<MH3605> of them. <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/38-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>And you will go<MH5927> up<MH5927>, you will come<MH935> like a storm<MH7724b>; you will be like a cloud<MH6051> covering<MH3680> the land<MH776>, you and all<MH3605> your troops<MH102>, and many<MH7227a> peoples<MH5971a> with you.” <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/38-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>‘This<MH3541> is<MH3541> what<MH3541> the Lord<MH136> GOD<MH3068> says<MH559>: “It will come<MH1961> about<MH1961> on that day<MH3117>, that <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[g]</a></span>thoughts<MH1697> will come<MH5927> into your mind<MH3824> and you will devise<MH2803> an evil<MH7451a> plan<MH4284>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/38-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>and you will say<MH559>, ‘I will go<MH5927> up<MH5927> against<MH5921> the land<MH776> of <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[h]</a></span>unwalled<MH6519> villages<MH6519>. I will go<MH5927> against those who are at<MH8252> rest<MH8252>, who live<MH3427> securely<MH983>, all<MH3605> of them living<MH3427> without<MH369> walls<MH2346> and having<MH369> no<MH369> bars<MH1280> or gates<MH1817>, <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/38-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>to capture<MH7997b> spoils<MH7998> and to seize<MH962> plunder<MH957>, to turn<MH7725> your hand<MH3027> against<MH5921> the ruins<MH2723> that are <i>now</i> inhabited<MH3427>, and against<MH413> the people<MH5971a> who are gathered<MH622> from the nations<MH1471>, who have acquired<MH6213a> livestock<MH4735> and goods<MH7075>, who live<MH3427> at the <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[i]</a></span>center<MH2872> of the world<MH776>.’ <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/38-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>Sheba<MH7614> and Dedan<MH1719> and the merchants<MH5503> of Tarshish<MH8659> with all<MH3605> its <span class="fn"><a href="#fn">[j]</a></span>villages<MH3724d> will say<MH559> to you, ‘Have you come<MH935> to capture<MH7997b> spoils<MH7998>? Have you assembled<MH6950> your contingent<MH6951> to seize<MH962> plunder<MH957>, to carry<MH5375> away silver<MH3701> and gold<MH2091>, to take<MH3947> away livestock<MH4735> and goods<MH7075>, to capture<MH7997b> great<MH1419> spoils<MH7998>?’”’ <p class="paragraph"><span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/38-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>“Therefore<MH3651> prophesy<MH5012>, son<MH1121> of man<MH120>, and say<MH559> to Gog<MH1463>, ‘This<MH3541> is<MH3541> what<MH3541> the Lord<MH136> GOD<MH3068> says<MH559>: “On that day<MH3117> when My people<MH5971a> Israel<MH3478> are living<MH3427> securely<MH983>, will you not know<MH3045> <i>it?</i> <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/38-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>You will come<MH935> from your place<MH4725> out of the remote<MH3411> parts<MH3411> of the north<MH6828>, you and many<MH7227a> peoples<MH5971a> with you, all<MH3605> of them riding<MH7392> horses<MH5483b>, a large<MH1419> assembly<MH6951> and a mighty<MH7227a> army<MH2428>; <span class="reftext"><a href="/ezekiel/38-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>and you will come<MH5927> up<MH5927> against<MH5921> My people<MH5971a> Israel<MH3478> like a cloud<MH6051> to cover<MH3680> the land<MH776>.
