Failures during this process can lead to individuals experiencing anxiety in social interactions, which can have a negative impact on their mental health. The Indonesia National Adolescent Mental Health Survey (I-NAMHS), findings also indicate that the most prevalent mental disorder among adolescents is anxiety disorder (a combination of social phobia and generalized anxiety disorder), is equivalent to 15.5 million. The widespread use of the internet and social media, on one hand, has led to a high dependency on smartphones among teenagers, causing them to spend more time interacting in the virtual world. Over an extended period, this condition can lead to social anxiety due to the fear of failure and lack of success. The objective of this research is to explore whether there is a difference in social anxiety among teenagers living in rural or urban areas, related to factors such as the duration of smartphone usage, school activities, and so on. The results of this research are crucial for providing feedback to high schools, especially for early detection of potential anxiety symptoms from the beginning, in order to prevent and provide appropriate treatment for social anxiety, thus not affecting students\u0026amp;#39; academic achievements. Virtually there are no Indian studies on SAD. The study was conducted to find out frequency, demographic and phenomenological characteristics of SAD, family related risk factors, academic impairment and comorbidity of depression among adolescents. 421 adolescents in one high-school were screened for SAD and depression and associated factors with academic impairment. 54 (12.8%) had SAD. The most common manifestation of SAD was avoiding giving speeches. The subjects are undergraduate college students totaled 364 people. Instrument used for data collection is Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale-Self Report (LSAs-SR). Social anxiety is the reason of hyper depression; it negatively effects physically, psychologically and increase complexity among students. These all causes are interlinked with social media. To study about the social anxiety among students, Social media needs to aware the youth about the harmful effects of it. The Purposive sampling technique was used; students were selected who are totally engaged with social media websites. The total numbers of 50 respondents of Postgraduate regular students of Kurukshetra University were selected for this study. The data collected through survey method. According to the research paper findings, there is no correlation between social media and social anxiety. Which means social media is not playing any crucial role in developing social anxiety among university students. Social anxiety may occur in situations, but in this research, social media don’t develop the social anxiety among students. The purpose of this research paper is to find the relationship between social media and social anxiety. Objective: To assess the prevalence of social anxiety disorder [sad] and its determinants among high school students of selected high school of Bagalkot. Methods: Descriptive survey approach was used for the study with cross sectional survey design. 120 high school students between 14 years to 16 years of age were selected Disproportionate stratified random sampling technique method from high school students studying in selected high school of Bagalkot. The data regarding determinants was collected by structured interview schedule and selfreport method. The Social Phobia Inventory (abbreviated as SPIN) is a five point scale was used to categories the high school students according to their social anxiety disorders. The association was explored by Chi square test, Fisher&#39;s exact probability test and linear regression. Results: Total 120 high school students were responded for Social Phobia Inventory (SPIN) scale, in that level of social anxiety disorders had reveals that majority 83.3% had non phobic, 15.8% had mild and 0.8% had moderate, there is no extremely phobic. A significant association was found between the social anxiety disorders of adolescents and their selected socio-demographic variables like monthly income (χ 2 = 21.199; P&lt;0.05). Conclusion: The findings revealed that there was a positive correlation found between the psychological wellbeing and academic performance among adolescents, recommended health education, early recommended understanding the social anxiety disorder and its determinants by their students especially among the fresher`s.
