even boots on the ground. This week is <a href="https://www.pointsoflight.org/nvw/?ref=blog.procore.com">National Volunteer Week</a> in the U.S., a period of time dedicated to honoring the great work that volunteers do, and the amazing potential that civic society has to make transformational change when working together under a common cause.</p><p>At Procore, we encourage our employees to take time off to give back to their local communities, pursue their personal philanthropic passion, and improve our global community. We provide all employees with 16 hours of volunteer time off a year, and also organize employee volunteer opportunities at company events. This past February, employees had the opportunity to play virtual bingo with athletes from the Special Olympics of Southern California during our annual Revenue Summit. </p><p>Procore.org, the social impact arm of Procore, was formed on the foundational belief that it’s our responsibility to give back to the industry that shaped us. With a mission to advance the construction industry through advocacy, education, and technology, Procore.org donates the Procore platform and services to over 500 nonprofit builders, educational institutions, and training centers.</p><p>Many Procore.org nonprofit partners work with the construction industry to become a strong force for change, by building together, organizing material donations, fundraising, and more. This week, we’ve chosen to elevate a few of our non-profit partners so you can learn more and maybe even get involved! </p><p><strong>Houses For Warriors</strong></p><p><a href="https://housesforwarriors.org/?ref=blog.procore.com">Houses for Warriors</a> is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and licensed General Contractor that strives to improve the quality of life for injured and homeless veterans in need. They help through special adaptive housing and ADA accessibility renovations for injured veteran’s homes, transitional housing and vocational training in construction trades, discounted homes approved for VA financing for military and veteran home-buyers, and more.</p><p>There are several ways to <a href="https://housesforwarriors.org/get-involved/?ref=blog.procore.com">get involved</a>, from joining their volunteer corps, hosting a golf tournament, sponsoring a project, or participating in a <a href="https://housesforwarriors.org/warrior-rehab?ref=blog.procore.com">Warrior Rehab Day</a> to remodel a home to fit the veteran’s needs.</p><p><strong>St. Bernard Project (SBP) </strong></p><p>While volunteering at Louisiana’s St. Bernard Parish after Hurricane Katrina, a young couple was inspired by the local community's collective determination to rebuild despite the inefficient rebuilding process. <a href="https://sbpusa.org/?ref=blog.procore.com">SBP</a>, originally called St. Bernard Project, now takes on operations nationwide with a mission to shrink the time between disaster and recovery.</p><p>Individuals and groups can <a href="https://sbpusa.org/get-involved/volunteer?ref=blog.procore.com">volunteer with SBP</a> to help rebuild family’s homes, which involves completing tasks such as installing insulation, painting, and laying floors. No experience is necessary, but you can be assigned to a specialty team with field experience in framing, electrical, plumbing, or cabinetry.</p><p><strong>Habitat for Humanity</strong></p><p>There are a variety of ways to support Habitat for Humanity in both the U.S. and around the world, to help families build better lives for themselves and their children, and to build a world where everyone has a decent place to live.</p><p>You can start by finding your local Habitat affiliate <a href="https://www.habitat.org/volunteer/near-you/find-your-local-habitat?ref=blog.procore.com">here</a>, and then looking into different group opportunities, build events, long-term service, and donation options. </p><p><strong>Team Rubicon</strong></p><p><a href="https://teamrubiconusa.org/?ref=blog.procore.com">Team Rubicon</a> unites the skills and experience of military veterans with first responders to deploy emergency response teams, free of charge, to communities affected by disasters. Team Rubicon is currently able to deploy over 13,000 volunteers throughout the United States and world.</p><p>Both military veterans and civilians are encouraged to step up to provide service and impact to survivors and communities in need. Current Team Rubicon operations include <a href="https://teamrubiconusa.org/vaccination?ref=blog.procore.com">administering vaccines</a> at supported vaccination sites throughout the country, and helping those affected by Winter Storm Uri in Tennessee, Kentucky, and Texas.
