It is performed to study the effect of heat and mass transfer by deriving Ginzburg-Landau equation. Heat and mass transfer are quantified in terms of Nusselt number and Sherwood numbers, which are obtained as a function of thermal and solute Rayleigh numbers. The obtained Ginzburg-Landau equation is Bernoulli equation, and it has been elucidated numerically by using Mathematica. The effects of couple stress parameter, solute Rayleigh numbers, and Taylor number on the onset of convection and heat and mass transfer have been examined. It is found that the effects of couple stress parameter and Taylor number are to stabilize the system and to increase the heat and mass transfer. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=couple%20stress%20liquid" title="couple stress liquid">couple stress liquid</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ginzburg-Landau%20model" title=" Ginzburg-Landau model"> Ginzburg-Landau model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=rotation" title=" rotation"> rotation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=triple%20diffusive%20convection" title=" triple diffusive convection"> triple diffusive convection</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/67604/heat-and-mass-transfer-of-triple-diffusive-convection-in-a-rotating-couple-stress-liquid-using-ginzburg-landau-model" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/67604.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">338</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">17872</span> Study of Rayleigh-Bénard-Brinkman Convection Using LTNE Model and Coupled, Real Ginzburg-Landau Equations</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=P.%20G.%20Siddheshwar">P. Streamlines and isotherms are obtained in the two-dimensional unsteady finite-amplitude convection regime. The parameters&rsquo; influence on heat transport is found to be more pronounced at small time than at long times. Results of the Rayleigh-B&eacute;nard convection is obtained as a particular case of the present study. Additional modes are shown not to significantly influence the heat transport thus leading us to infer that five minimal modes are sufficient to make a study of RBBC. The present problem that uses rolls as a pattern of manifestation of instability is a needed first step in the direction of making a very general non-local study of two-dimensional unsteady convection. The results may be useful in determining the preferred range of parameters&rsquo; values while making rheometric measurements in fluids to ascertain fluid properties such as viscosity. The results of LTE are obtained as a limiting case of the results of LTNE obtained in the paper. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=coupled%20Ginzburg%E2%80%93Landau%20model" title="coupled Ginzburg–Landau model">coupled Ginzburg–Landau model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=local%20thermal%20non-equilibrium%20%28LTNE%29" title=" local thermal non-equilibrium (LTNE)"> local thermal non-equilibrium (LTNE)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=local%20thermal%20equilibrium%20%28LTE%29" title=" local thermal equilibrium (LTE)"> local thermal equilibrium (LTE)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rayleigh%E2%80%93B%C3%A9nard-Brinkman%20convection" title=" Rayleigh–Bénard-Brinkman convection"> Rayleigh–Bénard-Brinkman convection</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/70182/study-of-rayleigh-benard-brinkman-convection-using-ltne-model-and-coupled-real-ginzburg-landau-equations" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/70182.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">237</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">17871</span> Unsteady Rayleigh-Bénard Convection of Nanoliquids in Enclosures</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=P.%20G.%20Siddheshwar">P. The thermophysical properties of water, copper, copper-oxide, alumina, silver and titania at 3000 K under stagnant conditions that are collected from literature are used in calculating thermophysical properties of water-based nanoliquids. Phenomenological laws and mixture theory are used for calculating thermophysical properties. Free-free, rigid-rigid and rigid-free boundary conditions are considered in the study. Intractable Lorenz model for each boundary combination is derived and then reduced to the tractable Ginzburg-Landau model. The amplitude thus obtained is used to quantify the heat transport in terms of Nusselt number. Addition of nanoparticles is shown not to alter the influence of the nature of boundaries on the onset of convection as well as on heat transport. Amongst the three enclosures considered, it is found that tall and shallow enclosures transport maximum and minimum energy respectively. Enhancement of heat transport due to nanoparticles in the three enclosures is found to be in the range 3% - 11%. Comparison of results in the case of rigid-rigid boundaries is made with those of an earlier work and good agreement is found. The study has limitations in the sense that thermophysical properties are calculated by using various quantities modelled for static condition. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=enclosures" title="enclosures">enclosures</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=free-free" title=" free-free"> free-free</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=rigid-rigid" title=" rigid-rigid"> rigid-rigid</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=rigid-free%20boundaries" title=" rigid-free boundaries"> rigid-free boundaries</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ginzburg-Landau%20model" title=" Ginzburg-Landau model"> Ginzburg-Landau model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lorenz%20model" title=" Lorenz model"> Lorenz model</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/69865/unsteady-rayleigh-benard-convection-of-nanoliquids-in-enclosures" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/69865.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">255</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">17870</span> Weakly Non-Linear Stability Analysis of Newtonian Liquids and Nanoliquids in Shallow, Square and Tall High-Porosity Enclosures</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Pradeep%20G.%20Siddheshwar">Pradeep G. The modified-Buongiorno-Brinkman model (MBBM) is used for the conservation of linear momentum in a nanoliquid-saturated-porous medium under the assumption of Boussinesq approximation. Thermal equilibrium is imposed between the base liquid and the nanoparticles. The thermophysical properties of nanoliquid are modeled using phenomenological laws and mixture theory. The fifth-order Lorenz model is derived for the problem and is then reduced to the first-order Ginzburg-Landau equation (GLE) using the multi-scale method. The analytical solution of the GLE for the amplitude is then used to quantify the heat transport in closed form, in terms of the Nusselt number. It is found that addition of dilute concentration of nanoparticles significantly enhances the heat transport and the dominant reason for the same is the high thermal conductivity of the nanoliquid in comparison to that of the base liquid. This aspect of nanoliquids helps in speedy removal of heat. The porous medium serves the purpose of retainment of energy in the system due to its low thermal conductivity. The present model helps in making a unified study for obtaining the results for base liquid, nanoliquid, base liquid-saturated porous medium and nanoliquid-saturated porous medium. Three different types of enclosures are considered for the study by taking different values of aspect ratio, and it is observed that heat transport in tall porous enclosure is maximum while that of shallow is the least. Detailed discussion is also made on estimating heat transport for different volume fractions of nanoparticles. Results of single-phase model are shown to be a limiting case of the present study. The study is made for three boundary combinations, viz., free-free, rigid-rigid and rigid-free. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Boungiorno%20model" title="Boungiorno model">Boungiorno model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ginzburg-Landau%20equation" title=" Ginzburg-Landau equation"> Ginzburg-Landau equation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Lorenz%20equations" title=" Lorenz equations"> Lorenz equations</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=porous%20medium" title=" porous medium"> porous medium</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/69913/weakly-non-linear-stability-analysis-of-newtonian-liquids-and-nanoliquids-in-shallow-square-and-tall-high-porosity-enclosures" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/69913.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">322</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">17869</span> Fokas-Lenells Equation Conserved Quantities and Landau-Lifshitz System</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Riki%20Dutta">Riki Dutta</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sagardeep%20Talukdar"> Sagardeep Talukdar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Gautam%20Kumar%20Saharia"> Gautam Kumar Saharia</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sudipta%20Nandy"> Sudipta Nandy</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Fokas-Lenells equation (FLE) is one of the integrable nonlinear equations use to describe the propagation of ultrashort optical pulses in an optical medium. Sampled energy space was distributed between the individual walkers with certain overlaps. This was made to include the latest development of the algorithm as the density of states replica exchange technique. The integration of the multi-Davydov D2 Ansatz into the time-dependent variational framework enables us to model the intricate quantum system accurately. By influencing the system with a driving field strength resonant with the energy spacing, the probability of adiabatic rapid passage, which is modelled after the Landau Zener model, can be derived along with several other observables, such as the photon population. The effects of a dissipative environment can be reproduced by coupling the system to a common phonon mode. By manipulating the strength and frequency of the driving field, along with the coupling strength of the phonon mode to the qubits, we are able to control the qubits and photon dynamics and subsequently increase the probability of Adiabatic Rapid Passage happening. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=quantum%20electrodynamics" title="quantum electrodynamics">quantum electrodynamics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=adiabatic%20rapid%20passage" title=" adiabatic rapid passage"> adiabatic rapid passage</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Landau-Zener%20transitions" title=" Landau-Zener transitions"> Landau-Zener transitions</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=dissipative%20environment" title=" dissipative environment"> dissipative environment</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/167520/dynamics-of-adiabatic-rapid-passage-in-an-open-rabi-dimer-model" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/167520.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">87</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">17866</span> The Efficacy of Clobazam for Landau-Kleffner Syndrome</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nino%20Gogatishvili">Nino Gogatishvili</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Davit%20Kvernadze"> Davit Kvernadze</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Giorgi%20Japharidze"> Giorgi Japharidze</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Background and aims: Landau Kleffner syndrome (LKS) is a rare disorder with epileptic seizures and acquired aphasia. It usually starts in initially healthy children. The first symptoms are language regression and behavioral disturbances, and the sleep EEG reveals abnormal epileptiform activity. The aim was to discuss the efficacy of Clobazam for Landau Kleffner syndrome. Case report: We report a case of an 11-year-old boy with an uneventful pregnancy and delivery. He began to walk at 11 months and speak with simple phrases at the age of 2,5 years. At the age of 18 months, he had febrile convulsions; at the age of 5 years, the parents noticed language regression, stuttering, and serious behavioral dysfunction, including hyperactivity, temper outbursts. The epileptic seizure was not noticed. MRI was without any abnormality. Neuropsychological testing revealed verbal auditory agnosia. Sleep EEG showed abundant left fronto-temporal spikes, reaching over 85% during non-rapid eye movement sleep (non-REM sleep). Treatment was started with Clobazam. After ten weeks, EEG was improved. Stuttering and behavior also improved. Results: Since the start of Clobazam treatment, stuttering and behavior improved. Now, he is 11 years old, without antiseizure medication. Sleep EEG shows fronto-temporal spikes on the left side, over 10-49 % of non-REM sleep, bioccipital spikes, and slow-wave discharges and spike-waves. Conclusions: This case provides further support for the efficacy of Clobazam in patients with LKS. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Landau-Kleffner%20syndrome" title="Landau-Kleffner syndrome">Landau-Kleffner syndrome</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=antiseizure%20medication" title=" antiseizure medication"> antiseizure medication</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=stuttering" title=" stuttering"> stuttering</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=aphasia" title=" aphasia"> aphasia</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/168881/the-efficacy-of-clobazam-for-landau-kleffner-syndrome" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/168881.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">66</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">17865</span> Comparison of Loosely Coupled and Tightly Coupled INS/GNSS Architecture for Guided Rocket Navigation System</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rahmat%20Purwoko">Rahmat Purwoko</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bambang%20Riyanto%20Trilaksono"> Bambang Riyanto Trilaksono</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> This paper gives comparison of INS/GNSS architecture namely Loosely Coupled and Tightly Coupled using Hardware in the Loop Simulation in Guided Missile RKX-200 rocket model. In 1973, Chen Jingrun proved that each odd number can be shown by one prime plus a number that has maximum two primes. In this article, we state one proof for Goldbach’conjecture. Introduction: Bertrand’s postulate state for every positive integer n, there is always at least one prime p, such that n < p < 2n. This was first proved by Chebyshev in 1850, which is why postulate is also called the Bertrand-Chebyshev theorem. Legendre’s conjecture states that there is a prime between n2 and (n+1)2 for every positive integer n, which is one of the four Landau’s problems. The rest of these four basic problems are; (i) Twin prime conjecture: There are infinitely many primes p such that p+2 is a prime. (ii) Goldbach’s conjecture: Every even integer n > 2 can be written asthe sum of two primes. (iii) Are there infinitely many primes p such that p−1 is a perfect square? Problems (i), (ii), and (iii) are open till date. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Bertrand-Chebyshev%20theorem" title="Bertrand-Chebyshev theorem">Bertrand-Chebyshev theorem</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Landau%E2%80%99s%20problems" title=" Landau’s problems"> Landau’s problems</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=twin%20prime" title=" twin prime"> twin prime</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Legendre%E2%80%99s%20conjecture" title=" Legendre’s conjecture"> Legendre’s conjecture</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Oppermann%E2%80%99s%20conjecture" title=" Oppermann’s conjecture"> Oppermann’s conjecture</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/30678/a-proof-for-goldbachs-conjecture" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/30678.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">402</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">17860</span> Finite Element Modeling of Heat and Moisture Transfer in Porous Material</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=V.%20D.%20Thi">V. Dynamic and static coupled models of heat and moisture transfer in porous material under low temperature are presented and the coupled models together with variable initial and boundary conditions have been considered in an analytical way and using the finite element method. The resulting coupled model is converted to two nonlinear partial differential equations, which is then numerically solved by an implicit iterative scheme. The numerical results of temperature and moisture potential changes are compared with the experimental measurements available in the literature. Predicted results demonstrate validation of the theoretical model and effectiveness of the developed numerical algorithms. Due to the extremely low energy of a single microwave photon, efforts to build single photon sources and detectors in the microwave range are relatively recent. We plan to use a Cooper Pair Box (CPB) that has a ‘sweet-spot’ where the two energy levels have minimal separation. Moreover, these qubits have fairly large anharmonicity making them close to ideal two-level systems. If the external gate voltage of these qubits is varied rapidly while passing through the sweet-spot, due to Landau-Zener effect, the qubit can be excited almost deterministically. The rapid change of the gate control voltage through the sweet spot induces a non-adiabatic population transfer from the ground to the excited state. The qubit eventually decays into the emission line emitting a single photon. The advantage of this setup is that the qubit can be excited without any coherent microwave excitation, thereby effectively increasing the usable source efficiency due to the absence of control pulse microwave photons. Since the probability of a Landau-Zener transition can be made almost close to unity by the appropriate design of parameters, this source behaves as an on-demand source of single microwave photons. The large anharmonicity of the CPB also ensures that only one excited state is involved in the transition and multiple photon output is highly improbable. Such a system has so far not been implemented and would find many applications in the areas of quantum optics, quantum computation as well as quantum communication. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=quantum%20computing" title="quantum computing">quantum computing</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=quantum%20communication" title=" quantum communication"> quantum communication</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=quantum%20optics" title=" quantum optics"> quantum optics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=superconducting%20qubits" title=" superconducting qubits"> superconducting qubits</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=flux%20qubit" title=" flux qubit"> flux qubit</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=charge%20qubit" title=" charge qubit"> charge qubit</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=microwave%20single%20photon%20source" title=" microwave single photon source"> microwave single photon source</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=quantum%20information%20processing" title=" quantum information processing"> quantum information processing</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/160844/microwave-single-photon-source-using-landau-zener-transitions" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/160844.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">98</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">17857</span> ELectromagnetic-Thermal Coupled Analysis of PMSM with Cooling Channel</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hyun-Woo%20Jun">Hyun-Woo Jun</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tae-Chul%20Jeong"> Tae-Chul Jeong</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Huai-Cong%20Liu"> Huai-Cong Liu</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ju%20Lee"> Ju Lee</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The paper presents the electromagnetic-thermal flow coupled analysis of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) which has cooling channel in stator core for forced air cooling. The results show that the rate conversion of methane reach 90% and the hydrogen production is about 30%. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hydrogen%20production" title="hydrogen production">hydrogen production</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=inductively%20coupled%20plasma" title=" inductively coupled plasma"> inductively coupled plasma</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fluid%20model" title=" fluid model"> fluid model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=methane%20plasma" title=" methane plasma"> methane plasma</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/123259/modeling-of-hydrogen-production-by-inductively-coupled-methane-plasma-for-input-power-pin700w" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/123259.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">164</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">17855</span> Tunable in Phase, out of Phase and T/4 Square-Wave Pulses in Delay-Coupled Optoelectronic Oscillators</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jade%20Mart%C3%ADnez-Llin%C3%A0s">Jade Martínez-Llinàs</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Pere%20Colet"> Pere Colet</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> By exploring the possible dynamical regimes in a prototypical model for mutually delay-coupled OEOs, here it is shown that two mutually coupled non-identical OEOs, besides in- and out-of-phase square-waves, can generate stable square-wave pulses synchronized at a quarter of the period (T/4) in a broad parameter region. The key point to obtain T/4 solutions is that the two OEO operate with mixed feedback, namely with negative feedback in one and positive in the other. Furthermore, the coexistence of multiple solutions provides a large degree of flexibility for tuning the frequency in the GHz range without changing any parameter. As a result the two coupled OEOs system is good candidate to be implemented for information encoding as a high-capacity memory device. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=nonlinear%20optics" title="nonlinear optics">nonlinear optics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=optoelectronic%20oscillators" title=" optoelectronic oscillators"> optoelectronic oscillators</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=square%20waves" title=" square waves"> square waves</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=synchronization" title=" synchronization"> synchronization</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/39791/tunable-in-phase-out-of-phase-and-t4-square-wave-pulses-in-delay-coupled-optoelectronic-oscillators" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/39791.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">370</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">17854</span> Dynamic Analysis of Differential Systems with Infinite Memory and Damping</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Kun-Peng%20Jin">Kun-Peng Jin</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jin%20Liang"> Jin Liang</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ti-Jun%20Xiao"> Ti-Jun Xiao</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In this work, we are concerned with the dynamic behaviors of solutions to some coupled systems with infinite memory, which consist of two partial differential equations where only one partial differential equation has damping. The computational fluid dynamic (CFD) models coupled with population balance equation (CFD-PBM) have been extensively employed to investigate the flow behavior in the poly-disperse multiphase fluidized bed reactors (FBRs) utilizing ANSYS Fluent code. In this study, an existing CFD-PBM/ DQMOM coupled modeling framework has been used to highlight its potential to analyze the industrial-scale gas phase polymerization reactor. The predicted results reveal an acceptable agreement with the observed industrial data in terms of pressure drop and bed height. The simulated results also indicate that the higher particle growth rate can be achieved for bigger particles. Hence, the 2D CFD-PBM/DQMOM coupled model can be used as a reliable tool for analyzing and improving the design and operation of the gas phase polymerization FBRs. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=computational%20fluid%20dynamics" title="computational fluid dynamics">computational fluid dynamics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=population%20balance%20equation" title=" population balance equation"> population balance equation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fluidized%20bed%20polymerization%20reactor" title=" fluidized bed polymerization reactor"> fluidized bed polymerization reactor</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=direct%20quadrature%20method%20of%20moments" title=" direct quadrature method of moments"> direct quadrature method of moments</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/35644/2d-cfd-pbm-coupled-model-of-particle-growth-in-an-industrial-gas-phase-fluidized-bed-polymerization-reactor" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/35644.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">367</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">17850</span> A New Microstrip Diplexer Using Coupled Stepped Impedance Resonators</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=A.%20Chinig">A. The model is able to simulate volumetric collapse upon wetting and incorporates suction effects on stiffness and strength. Its mechanical constitutive equation links Bishop’s effective stress with strain and suction, featuring a normal consolidation line (NCL) with a compression index (λ) presenting a non-linear dependency with the degree of saturation. The Bulk modulus has been modified to ensure that under rapid volumetric collapse, the stress state remains at the NCL. The coupled model comprises eighteen parameters, with nine for the hydraulic component and nine for the mechanical component. Hydraulic parameters are calibrated with the use of water retention curves (IWRC) across varied soil densities, while mechanical parameters undergo calibration using isotropic and triaxial tests on both unsaturated and saturated samples. The model's performance is analyzed through the back-calculation of two experimental studies: (i) wetting under different vertical stresses for Lower Cromer Till and (ii) isotropic loading and triaxial loading for undisturbed loess. The results confirm that the proposed model is able to predict the hydro-mechanical behavior of unsaturated soils. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hypoplastic%20model" title="hypoplastic model">hypoplastic model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=volumetric%20collapse" title=" volumetric collapse"> volumetric collapse</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=normal%20consolidation%20line" title=" normal consolidation line"> normal consolidation line</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=compression%20index%20%28%CE%BB%29" title=" compression index (λ)"> compression index (λ)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=degree%20of%20saturation" title=" degree of saturation"> degree of saturation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=soil%20suction" title=" soil suction"> soil suction</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/183465/enhancements-to-the-coupled-hydro-mechanical-hypoplastic-model-for-unsaturated-soils" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/183465.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">64</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">17847</span> Extracting the Coupled Dynamics in Thin-Walled Beams from Numerical Data Bases</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohammad%20A.%20Bani-Khaled">Mohammad A. The outcomes of the will improve our understanding of the linear and nonlinear coupled behavior of thin-walled beams structures. Thin-walled beams have widespread usage in modern engineering application in both large scale structures (aeronautical structures), as well as in nano-structures (nano-tubes). Therefore, detailed knowledge in regard to the properties of coupled vibrations and buckling in these structures are of great interest in the research community. Due to the geometric complexity in the overall structure and in particular in the cross-sections it is necessary to involve computational mechanics to numerically simulate the dynamics. In using numerical computational techniques, it is not necessary to over simplify a model in order to solve the equations of motions. Computational dynamics methods produce databases of controlled resolution in time and space. These numerical databases contain information on the properties of the coupled dynamics. In order to extract the system dynamic properties and strength of coupling among the various fields of the motion, processing techniques are required. Time- Proper Orthogonal Decomposition transform is a powerful tool for processing databases for the dynamics. It will be used to study the coupled dynamics of thin-walled basic structures. These structures are ideal to form a basis for a systematic study of coupled dynamics in structures of complex geometry. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=coupled%20dynamics" title="coupled dynamics">coupled dynamics</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=geometric%20complexity" title=" geometric complexity"> geometric complexity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=proper%20orthogonal%20decomposition%20%28POD%29" title=" proper orthogonal decomposition (POD)"> proper orthogonal decomposition (POD)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=thin%20walled%20beams" title=" thin walled beams"> thin walled beams</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/22175/extracting-the-coupled-dynamics-in-thin-walled-beams-from-numerical-data-bases" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/22175.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">418</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">17846</span> Modeling of Large Elasto-Plastic Deformations by the Coupled FE-EFGM</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Azher%20Jameel">Azher Jameel</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ghulam%20Ashraf%20Harmain"> Ghulam Ashraf Harmain</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In the recent years, the enriched techniques like the extended finite element method, the element free Galerkin method, and the Coupled finite element-element free Galerkin method have found wide application in modeling different types of discontinuities produced by cracks, contact surfaces, and bi-material interfaces. The extended finite element method faces severe mesh distortion issues while modeling large deformation problems. The element free Galerkin method does not have mesh distortion issues, but it is computationally more demanding than the finite element method. The coupled FE-EFGM proves to be an efficient numerical tool for modeling large deformation problems as it exploits the advantages of both FEM and EFGM. The present paper employs the coupled FE-EFGM to model large elastoplastic deformations in bi-material engineering components. The large deformation occurring in the domain has been modeled by using the total Lagrangian approach. The non-linear elastoplastic behavior of the material has been represented by the Ramberg-Osgood model. The elastic predictor-plastic corrector algorithms are used for the evaluation stresses during large deformation. Finally, several numerical problems are solved by the coupled FE-EFGM to illustrate its applicability, efficiency and accuracy in modeling large elastoplastic deformations in bi-material samples. The results obtained by the proposed technique are compared with the results obtained by XFEM and EFGM. A remarkable agreement was observed between the results obtained by the three techniques. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=XFEM" title="XFEM">XFEM</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=EFGM" title=" EFGM"> EFGM</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=coupled%20FE-EFGM" title=" coupled FE-EFGM"> coupled FE-EFGM</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=level%20sets" title=" level sets"> level sets</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=large%20deformation" title=" large deformation"> large deformation</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/62784/modeling-of-large-elasto-plastic-deformations-by-the-coupled-fe-efgm" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/62784.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">447</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">17845</span> A TgCNN-Based Surrogate Model for Subsurface Oil-Water Phase Flow under Multi-Well Conditions</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jian%20Li">Jian Li</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The uncertainty quantification and inversion problems of subsurface oil-water phase flow usually require extensive repeated forward calculations for new runs with changed conditions. To reduce the computational time, various forms of surrogate models have been built. Related research shows that deep learning has emerged as an effective surrogate model, while most surrogate models with deep learning are purely data-driven, which always leads to poor robustness and abnormal results. To guarantee the model more consistent with the physical laws, a coupled theory-guided convolutional neural network (TgCNN) based surrogate model is built to facilitate computation efficiency under the premise of satisfactory accuracy. The model is a convolutional neural network based on multi-well reservoir simulation. The core notion of this proposed method is to bridge two separate blocks on top of an overall network. They underlie the TgCNN model in a coupled form, which reflects the coupling nature of pressure and water saturation in the two-phase flow equation. The model is driven by not only labeled data but also scientific theories, including governing equations, stochastic parameterization, boundary, and initial conditions, well conditions, and expert knowledge. The results show that the TgCNN-based surrogate model exhibits satisfactory accuracy and efficiency in subsurface oil-water phase flow under multi-well conditions. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=coupled%20theory-guided%20convolutional%20neural%20network" title="coupled theory-guided convolutional neural network">coupled theory-guided convolutional neural network</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multi-well%20conditions" title=" multi-well conditions"> multi-well conditions</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=surrogate%20model" title=" surrogate model"> surrogate model</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=subsurface%20oil-water%20phase" title=" subsurface oil-water phase"> subsurface oil-water phase</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/159365/a-tgcnn-based-surrogate-model-for-subsurface-oil-water-phase-flow-under-multi-well-conditions" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/159365.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">86</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">17844</span> 3D Numerical Investigation of Asphalt Pavements Behaviour Using Infinite Elements</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=K.%20Sandjak">K. The validation and numerical performance of this model are assessed by confronting critical pavement responses with Burmister&rsquo;s solution and FEM simulation results for multi-layered elastic structures. The coupled model is then efficiently utilised to perform 3-D simulations of a typical asphalt pavement structure in order to investigate the impact of two tire configurations (conventional dual and new generation wide-base tires) on critical pavement response parameters. The numerical results obtained show the effectiveness and the accuracy of the coupled (FE-MIE) model. In addition, the simulation results indicate that, compared with conventional dual tire assembly, single wide base tire caused slightly greater fatigue asphalt cracking and subgrade rutting potentials and can thus be utilised in view of its potential to provide numerous mechanical, economic, and environmental benefits. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a
